In Yankeetown but close to Crystal River this is a unique property that incorporates hundreds of feet of waterfrontage, a private peninsula and outstanding grounds right on two deep water canals, only minutes by boat to the Gulf access and use of private dock. Old time Florida at its best and rarest. Wildlife and fish abound. Manatees come to see you as well as dolphins and yes.....alligators. Take a trip down the river to the Gulf and you may be as lucky as we have been to see the flock of Roseate Spoonbills that live on Harper Island. Breathtaking.
Want to have a family reunion and cook out? Plenty of room as the grounds extend far and wide. Need more room? We also own the adjoining property so space abounds! Getting hot? Jump in the screen enclosed pool and simply relax in a place of outstanding natural beauty. Want a bit of wining and dining? One of Florida's best restaurants is five minutes by boat or road, or Crystal River is 14 miles down the road.

Inside is very spacious and open plan and in honor of its original owner, an incredible local woman who did so much for Nature Conservancy, has been decorated in mid century retro style. Think cocktail carts and lava lamps and bright colors. Its been fun hunting those down.

Magical

The home is beautiful with everything you could possibly need. I said Magical because it was. Quiet neighborhood right along the canal. We saw Manatee and a Gator. Having the pool for the grandkids to enjoy was a great time for all. The Owners went above and beyond in communicating with us and even checking in from time to time to see if we needed anything during our stay. Hope to return soon. A++++++++ Thanks for making our visit with our family have such great memories

Relax and enjoy!

The property is absolutely beautiful. They supplied kayaks which we took advantage of and cruised the canals to the gulf. We saw a mama dolphin and her baby, turtles, manatees. It was so relaxing!! Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Unique location

Very nice location right on the river on a quiet street in a quiet area. Nice newly nenovated home with lots of room. Manatees swam by. Can catch fish from the property. Owners are very helpful and friendly. Boat launch nearby right at the Gulf. Great seafood shops nearby and Crystal River is just 15min away.

Absolute paradise!

We had the most amazing time during our stay. Perfect for a family getaway. The house is beautiful and everything is exactly how it’s described in the listing. The hosts are so lovely, communicative, and easy to work with! The views are spectacular and having a private boat ramp on-site made it super easy to launch and load our boat. There are two floating docks on property that make boating easy and effortless. So much to see and explore on the water. Easy access to the gulf and tons of wildlife to enjoy. We will definitely be back and are so thankful for the experience! :)

End of summer

Had a great time. Property had plenty of open space and parking with room for our large group. We had 2 boats up to 26’ that we could get in and out of the ramp on site. When the second dock is done it will have plenty of parking on the water. Kids loved the pool and fishing off the bank. Close to the gulf and rainbow river so plenty to do. House was clean and tidy. Could use a couple more ceiling fans on the porch and bedrooms and maybe a crock pot. We maxed out the fridge between 2 families but made it work. We had manatees off the dock several times as well. Annie was very attentive and a great host so that was appreciated as well.

My husband and I sold our three animal hospitals in north Orlando and established our home in Crystal River but last year fell in love with Yankeetown. I had spent many of my younger years in the hospitality world both as a guest and as a worker. I love helping people have the best of vacation experiences and so was drawn to the idea of short term rental. I act almost as a conciege and my favorite thing is to find your tours or experiences and recommend places to eat and drink

Why they chose this property

This is a VERY unique and large property. It has taken a year to renovate and bring back to its glory while including a few more contemporary features. It has expansive waterfront, a dock and a screened in pool, one of the only pools in Yankeetown rentals The utter peace that is here will truly help you to relax and thoroughly immerse yourself in Old Florida. You will be able to see the wildlife up close and personal with frequent visits by dolphins, manatees, numerous bird species and gators.
If you want to break the peace Crystal River and Dunellon are very close by with easy access roads

What makes this property unique

This is really a property of outstanding beauty. It is rare to have so much waterfront plus as we own the property adjoining is the ideal place for larger families to stay close by each other
Its a one of a kind for sure. So much so that we stay there ourselves for mini breaks
