About this property
Indian Creek Lodge - Powderhorn
Welcome to the Indian Creek lodge. Enjoy your stay in this historic log cabin, located next to the trailhead for the Indian Creek recreational area. The cabin has three bedrooms, with queen size beds, a bath, kitchen and dining area, and a cozy living room with a pellet stove to take the chill out of the air. It's nestled in the pine trees and you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of it all sitting on the front porch swing, enjoying the warmth of a fire in our controlled fire pit. You can drive your OHV right out the back gate to catch the 33-mile Indian Creek trail system. The trailhead leads to the Powderhorn Wilderness. You can hike the 4-mile trail to the Powderhorn Creek Lakes, where you can fish for the native trout or just enjoy the serenity of it all. You'll see wildflowers, wildlife, and beautiful views of the Powderhorn Valley. This area is Unit 66 elite hunting, so your chances to see some trophy elk, deer and moose are very good.
The cabin is next door to another home, so you do have neighbors that have very friendly dogs and cats. They try very hard to not disturb your time enjoying the mountains, but the animals would love to be your new friend.
The cabin has a Hughes Net internet system.
This is a SMOKE-FREE property. No smoking inside or outside of the cabin
This cabin is NOT located close to Powderhorn Ski Resort, but closer to Lake City/Powderhorn.

This cabin is well appointed, comfortable, and spacious! We enjoyed preparing our own meals in the full sized kitchen with all the cookware and utensils we needed. The beds were very comfortable and leather sofas great for lounging. For a week stay we felt relaxed and well provisioned at this hope away from home. The hosts Terry and Juli were very friendly and easy to communicate with.
My family and I spent 4 nights in this cabin and had a wonderful experience! The cabin was clean, well stocked with all the basic needs and exactly as advertised. Booking was easy and the owners are great, we look forward to our next stay!

This was a GREAT family to have as a guest. They loved the animals and played fetch endlessly with our yellow lab. Extremely clean. They left the cabin immaculate. I'm glad they enjoyed their experience.
Went with four friends on a weekend ice fishing trip and stayed here. Everything was perfect, well accommodating, and reasonably close to Blue Mesa Reservoir. Could not have asked for a better place to stay!
The house is beautiful with beautiful views. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. There are hiking trails right outside the back gate and the horses on the property were a very special bonus.
The property was perfect for me and my husband and our daughter and fiancé. The property owners had everything we needed. We enjoyed the sweet dogs and cat that came to say hi each day. There was a nice trail right outside the gate we could ride on as well. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your guest house.

I truly enjoyed the guests! They are wonderful people and they took care of the cabin, as if it was their own. I welcome them here anytime.

We came to mainly ride the numerous 4x4 trails throughout the area. We had some great trips with some spectacular views. Saw deer, marmots and even 3 moose! After a hard day driving we enjoyed coming to rest at our little cabin! Thank you to Julie and family for sharing their beautiful property with us!
We had an amazing stay! The property had everything we needed, and more, to make us feel at home. There was plenty of room and a well stocked kitchen. The horses and pets and the property just made us feel even more at home. The property backs up to miles of land that we explored as well. It’s an amazing way to watch the sunset! We will be back!

We are so delighted by this! Please consider us your home in the mountains
The home is beautiful and fully equipped. Great location to take off from going to Lake City to ride the Alpine Loop and just a little over an hour to Taylor Park. Also easy to get to Pitkin. Plus there are some trails right off the property that were fun to explore. Thank you Julie for your hospitality and recommendations. I would highly recommend the property.

These folks are great guests. Kind, considerate and really friendly. They left the cabin immaculate. It was a pleasure talking to them.
This place is pretty cool. Lake city is only about 20 miles from property and you can even ride or hike in the Indian creek wilderness area right behind their property from a gate on their property . We rode our atvs a few miles back and found some nice green lush little valleys . Great place but be prepared to drive a lot and drive thru construction on hwy 50 if you want to head west to ouray and silverton . The nearest store is in lake city or gunnison both are 20-30 miles away so just go prepared and it’s a great place
Our family wanted to investigate the Lake City area and to rent side-by-sides to drive the alpine loop… Which was amazing!
Because of a cancellation we were able to book 3 nights At the Indian Creek Lodge on very short notice. Julie’s Lodge was delightful! Decorated with many mountings which delighted the hunters in our family! The beds were all very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, a wonderful large dining room table for us to sit around and play games! We enjoyed the evenings on the front patio, sitting around the campfire! Julie introduced all of her furry family members to us And told us the history of each one of them!! We enjoyed the many horses that Julie has rescued!
We so appreciated the cleanliness of the home !! Upon entering our grandson, age 13 said I want to live here. Our only regret is that we only stayed three nights… Another day would’ve been so perfect!
Lovely Cabin that has a great blend of Rustic and Modern Simplicity....Perfect
We really enjoyed the guest cabin at Indian Creek. It offered both rustic and contemporary features that provided a warm comfy feeling when inhabiting the log built structure. We really enjoyed the great room with the fireplace to warm our bones in the morning and evening. I looked forward to starting it up while having my morning coffee. The dining room is very spacious and can handle a lot of family and is decorated with a touch of the owners backgrounds. The kitchen will make cooks happy, but you are in the mountains, so enjoy them and don't spend all your time in the awesome cooking facilities. We loved the walk in shower to knock the trail dust off of us. The large bathroom and shower was a welcome sight after being on the trail all day. The master bedroom has a large queen bed that allowed me much rest and the other two bedrooms were cozy comfortable up on the loft/second level. We enjoyed every aspect that this property offered. Now for the best part, the owners are sweethearts...the kind of folks you want to hang around with and have as neighbors! We enjoyed visiting with them and their furry family members. Leinie the lab was my buddy and we enjoyed many fetch sessions in the evenings. Our host was wonderful. She checked up on us upon arrival and after I had an incident on the trail. She cares for the guests out here! If you want my two cents, book it, enjoy it, remember it, and repeat. God bless!
