My husband and I spent 3 days with our son and his 3yo son having a great time rock collecting, resting, hiking and enjoying this beautiful property. The house was clean, well furnished and comfortable. Elyse was very quick responding to a question. We would love to return.

Snowmobiling

Beautiful area. Easy access to trails. Very secluded, right on Lake Superior. House is cozy, with fireplace. Loft has two queen beds and a set of bunk beds. One other bedroom with queen bed. House has that “cabin feeling”. They do have WiFi fairly good for such a secluded area. We had four adults and two children we were comfortable. Has wood floors I would suggest in the winter to wear slippers or heavy socks, after all you are in the UP!

A slice of Heaven

We absolutely love this place. We have stayed with this host twice now. Once at this cabin and once next door. We love rock collecting on the beach, finding Agates and Yooper Lights both stays. No northern light this time like on the last trip. Maybe with our next stay. Can't say much about the are because we ended up never leaving the property and just hanging out on the secluded beach including night time fires. It is such a nice place to relax. The cabins have everything you need. I know we will be back!!

Captain's Cottage

My mom and I had a wonderful time at this cottage on Lake Superior. I was happy I could bring my dog with us as well. We all enjoyed walking the beach and rock hunting. It was located near our favorite bakery which was a bonus. Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I hope to come back again!

Captain's Hideaway and Cottage are side-by side properties located on 6 acres of gorgeous, very private Lake Superior beach front. Only 8 homes total on the road. The North County Trail, which stretches from Vermont to North Dakota, runs through our beach front. 1.5 hrs from Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. 20 mins to Grand Marais. Newberry Country Club has a beautiful 18 hole golf course. Tahquamenon falls is just 43 mi away. Take a day trip to Mackinac Island. We hope you enjoy your stay. Chris and Elyse Van Houzen
