Parker House is a classic New England Victorian just steps from downtown Camden. Part of the Camden Historic District, the original details have been preserved while updated for modern living. This wonderful vacation rental home is perfect for families and a short walk from downtown Camden’s restaurants, shops, public library, harbor, and schooner excursions.

Enter from the side porch directly into the centrally located, sunny kitchen with a fairly open floor plan and dining area for smaller gatherings. Directly off the kitchen is a dining room with seating for 10. Off the dining room is a study and a comfortable living room with a TV. The stairs to the second floor are in the hallway off the living room. The primary bedroom and bathroom are located off the other side of the kitchen down a small hallway.

There is currently a working exterior lift (although this cannot be guaranteed operational), and the entry level has a spacious primary bedroom featuring a large, updated bathroom with a roll-in shower and accessible sink.

This is a seven-night minimum stay rental.

Good location but do not recommend
Walked thru spider webs and found old trash in the kitchen that left bugs through most of the stay. Moldy shower curtains, broken lampshades, missing window coverings (even in a few bedrooms), moldy shades, curtains falling apart. Wifi was weak - did not reach thru the whole house and some devices dropped multiple times a day. There was a general lack of thoughtfulness that would have been valuable to ease the transition and comfort of the stay (e.g. no information on Italian stove, or air/heat, or TV/remote, etc). It was not comfortable - old furniture and not relaxing.

House charming but … when we arrived at 6pm the floors were still very wet in every room. Called property mgmt because we thought there had been a water leak in the home. Property mgmt didn’t appear to be local and had no idea what we were talking about. There was a moderate language barrier. After several minutes, they said cleaning people just left. We indicated that it was 6pm not 4pm (check-in time) so we were confused by what we were told. Floors eventually dried but were dirty. Had to wear shoes at all times if we didn’t want dirty feet. Questioned several times prior to final pmt re A/C because one description said the home had A/C and another description said no A/C. Property mgmt confirmed there was A/C. When we arrived we found several window units in a closet but only one installed in one upstairs bedroom. All other upstairs berms had box fans. Upstairs bathroom extremely small and not functional for showering. Claw foot tub w shower curtain that didn’t surround the tub. Shower curtain dirty and wet. Height of shower curtain only 4’ high. If anyone tried to take shower there would have been significant water everywhere in the very small bathroom. All 9 of us used the downstairs bathroom which was nice. Washer/dryer worked very well. Downstairs bedroom had a portable A/C unit. The code to get in the back door was a 9-digit code which was difficult to key in. Coffee maker still had old coffee in it. Beds relatively comfortable. Kitchen spacious and user friendly.
