About this property
Walk to everything from this 1 Bedroom Beach House
The Beach House is a guest house that is about 850 sq ft of living space that sits behind a main house on the property. Conveniently located within walking distance to the sugar sands of Van's Beach (about 1.5 blocks away) or to the town of Leland, the Beach House is its own building with its own entrance (see pics). It’s a one bedroom with a new queen bed, washer and dryer, large bathroom and living space along with a sweet little kitchen equipped with a new microwave, new refrigerator, coffee maker and some plates, cups and mugs.
Need more space? Check out the Little Red House that is located on the same property. The Red House is about 1,500 sq ft of living space. It’s a two bedroom home with a pull out couch. These properties can be rented together - See property #2973497. If you want BOTH spaces, act quickly - inquire and once payment is made, we will secure the listing for both spaces.
It's a short walk to the town of Leland, to the beach, to lunch across the street at Trish's Dishes, dinner at The Cove (our family favorite) or any of the other restaurants in Fishtown, peruse the local book store, fish in the historical Fishtown, grab fresh fish from Carlson's, view beautiful art from one of the many galleries. If you want to cook, feel free to walk to the Merc to pick up some groceries and come back to the Beach House. Be sure to grab a chair and walk to Van's beach for a stunning sunset or stroll along the waters of Lake Michigan.
The place is ideal for a couple with the single bedroom that has a new Queen bed. The backyard is communal and well equipped to grill or relax. It’s a shared space shared with the The Red House property - the two properties are located 10 steps from one another with separate entrances.
Are you a history buff? Look on the main house and the guest house for the LVFD (Leland Volunteer Fire Department) medals. These medals are known as fire insurance marks used in the 18th and 19th centuries to “mark” the front of homes and buildings to indicate which building were insured and by which insurance company’s firefighters.
If you are looking for a clean place to stay that is conveniently located to all that Leland has to offer, this is your place.

About the host
Hosted by Tia Ghattas

Hi! We are George and Tia. We are so happy you are here to look at our homes and welcome you as a member of our family. Our homes are very personal to us and places we spend our family vacations.
During your stay, you will probably talk to George mostly who is the most knowledgeable about the area, the wineries, things to do and places to go. This picture was taken at a winery in Leelanau a few years ago. We like to bike, hike, shop, swim, boat, SUP, ski, sled and travel around the Peninsula on new adventures.
Why Leelanau? Well, if you are looking here, you are probably already familiar with its beauty. Personally for us, Leelanau is a magical place for us and our family. George first came up here camping as a young boy with his family. Eventually, they moved from the campground to a home on Lake Leelanau. This is the place we have spent many summers and now our kids have grown up spending summers in this magical county. We love to share this area with our friends and family and in 2020, we made a leap to buy property in our most favorite place in the world.
Since we stay at our properties (thanks to the ability to work remotely) on a regular basis year round, we are always improving the property for family time, play time and work. We are based in Chicago.

Why they chose this property
We have a cabin on Suttons Bay that we rent out. In 2021, we took it off VRBO and then decided to rehab it before placing it back on VRBO. We bought the Leland property recently after falling in love with the location (we have spent many days and evenings on Van's Beach, eating ice cream at the Harbor House, fishing in Fishtown. The Leland House is ideal for our family with a separate Beach House for friends and family to stay when we vacation here.
What makes this property unique
George is a commercial real estate broker by trade and has been in the real estate business for decades. A graduate of Central Michigan where he played football, he bought a house and rented it to his teammates. He has always had a passion for real estate as a way to investing and sharing these gifts with friends and family far and wide.
