About this property
Lakeside home with plenty of amenities for all, on river fed Lake!
Find your next peaceful getaway at our lakeside home. The private dock makes it easy to use the 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, 2 person paddle boat, Lily pad, or fish off the dock. After fun-filled days, unwind on the large deck and watch the sunset, then gather around for a fire overlooking the lake.
We have all the amenities you need with a bright modern feel, only a quick 1.5 hour drive from the Twin Cities.
The main level boasts a spacious open kitchen, dining & living room layout perfect for conversation while relaxing or cooking. The main living area overlooks the lake and spacious deck that can be accessed via the main entrance or the sliding door. The deck has dining space for 6 and a couch with 2 additional swivel chairs for relaxing. Down the hall from the kitchen is a full bath, bedroom #1, which has a bright & coastal feel with a king bed and an attached jack & jill 1/2 bath. Across the hall from bedroom #1 is bedroom #2. In this room, you will find another king bed and a futon chair that converts to a twin bed.
Heading down the to the lower level you will 1st be greeted by a pool table, if you walked directly the the right you would see 2 futons (1 full & one twin) available to convert for additional sleeping. Then, to the right of that is a tuck away bunk room with curtain door for privacy. In this "room," there are 2 twin over queen bunks. Had you gone to the left when getting down the stairs, you would have a family room with a sectional couch, television, and an ottoman that also converts into a twin bed in a pinch. This home is a walk out rambler allowing you to access the outside from a sliding door in the family room. Once outside that door, you will find a shed on a large patio perfect for playing the outside games provided in the shed.
The cabin sits upon a stunning lake overlook, take a gradual stroll down to the lake, and enjoy the small patio area or try fishing off your private dock. There is a public boat launch a few minutes away if you'd like to bring a boat. We have 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards & a paddle boat for your use. There is also a shed next to the house containing a 17ft water mat and a couple adult life jackets. Please bring them for your children. It is state law that all vessels, including kayaks & paddle boards, have 1 life jacket on them per person using the device.
The Lake: Long Trade Lake is a river fed lake with excellent fishing, we've caught some great large mouth bass, crappies & sunnies directly off the dock. The lake is calm enough most days to get some great use of the paddle boards and kayaks with minimal waves. There is a fantastic public boat access not far from the cabin to launch your boat.
Outdoor: There is a firepit available for use on the property for your recreational fires, please don't make them raging bonfires and don't use the deck furniture for sitting around (we don't want burn holes in the chairs). We have 6 chairs provided for fires - should you need more, please bring your own fold up chairs. There is a charcoal grill/smoker available for your use. Bring your own charcoal & lighter fluid.
Indoor: The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need with dishware & silver ware for 12. All garbage bags, cleaning supplies, linens, and towels are provided for use, and there is enough toilet paper & paper towels for a few days on site. There is hand soap, laundry soap, and dish soap here for you.
General info: We have free Wifi and a washer & dryer on site. The door for the laundry room will be locked for safety/liability reasons. There is a key to get into the laundry room on site should you need to do laundry. Per Polk County, our home can room 6 people, but there are 9 separate sleeping areas should you have people that like to sleep alone. We do have two cameras located outside on the property near front & rear entrance doors.
***Dock, kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat will be available for use Mid-May through September. Patio furniture will remain outside throughout Mid October- November, weather permitting.

This place was very comfortable and had all the comforts needed for a great way to spend the Fourth of July with family! We fished right off the dock, spent a lot of time on the sand bar, went tubing, used the lily pad, made s’mores on the fire pit, and even watched it rain! Great time had by all!
The cabin was so well equiped, clean, and comfortable. The lake view from the beautiful deck was outstanding. We loved the zip line swing and floating on the lake. The lake was so quiet and inviting. Thank you for sharing this gem!
This cabin worked out great for us, with three adults we had plenty of room to relax and cook meals.
Very clean cabin with very comfortable beds.
I would stay there again.

Thanks so much for staying at our place and being such wonderful house guests!
We had such a fantastic stay at this home! The host has gone above and beyond to make sure guests have everything they need for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Unlike many rentals, the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked, making meal prep a breeze. Our family was very happy with the sleeping arrangements; the beds and linens were top-notch. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail throughout the entire house really made it feel like our own home.

Thank you for the wonderful review and for taking such great care of our place!!
This lake home was beautiful, clean, and cozy. The kids loved the zip line. The kitchen was well equipped. The lake was weedy right off the dock, but perfect just a bit further out. The kids loved playing on the big lily pad. We took many little rides in the paddleboat.

We're SO happy you enjoyed yourselves, thanks for taking such great care of our place!
We came from VA for my father’s 69th high school reunion and to visit family.
The host provided everything we needed for our visit and was quick to respond to questions.
Amazing property! Everything you need or want out of a property!! Quiet, clean, fun water activities that were included. Cute decor, absolutely perfect! Highly recommend!

Just a quick weekend with the college kids alone to enjoy a couple days together before they head back to school. House and indoor/outdoor accessories were great and house was very clean and great communication.

So happy you all had a good time! Thanks you for the wonderful review, enjoy the last moments of summer!
We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space. Very clean. Nice view of the lake right outside. My only recommendation is to bring extra bottled water as there is a rusty taste to the faucet water. This is common to many cabins but I had forgotten and wished we had brought jugs of water for coffee making. We liked the place and would stay here again.
Our family of six enjoyed a terrific stay for four nights. We loved that there were water crafts available for use and that the home was well stocked. The kitchen has everything you would want to make meals. The fire pit was a big hit in the evenings. We managed to catch some fish with better luck in the evening than morning. The area is peaceful and very relaxing. Smooth check in and communication. We hope to return!

Thanks for the wonderful review! So happy you had an enjoyable time that met your expectations. Family time is the best time. Hope to have you again!
The property was very lovely! It was a very clean and the lake access was easy to get too. Despite their being an algae bloom right before we got there we still had an amazing time! Melissa was very quick to respond that the bloom was no big deal. It was nice to have the kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pad to hang out on the water! Would definitely recommend this property for a weekend getaway on the lake!

Thank you for the kind review. We are so glad you had fun. Thanks again for staying with us and taking good care of our place. Hope to see you again.
We used the house as a landing pad for our annual trip to hay days! Plenty of room for the kids to spread out and enjoy themselves. Everything you need to make a meal, plenty of seating and a nice fire pit outside with lots of outdoor seating.
Melissa was super awesome at responding back to is asap and answering all of our questions.
Definitely a great spot to stay!
Thank you!
This cabin was so cozy and cute! Had enough space to comfortably fit 5 people. Kayaks, paddle boards and paddle boat were great to have use to. We really enjoyed our time here!
Note to future renters - there is plenty of wood on site, but bring an ax to cut the logs into firewood pieces. I don't know if the lake is always green or if it was just the time of year we went, but no one was brave enough to swim.
Great place for family vacation with wonderful fishing.
We visited the lake house over the 4th of July
holiday. We did so much fishing and playing in the water. The kids loved the zipline and played on it daily, as well as the board games provided by the host. The beds were all very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need for cooking. The host had decorated for the holiday and there were many little thoughtful touches. I would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone and would definitely consider staying again if we visit this area of Wisconsin. My father in law did some of the best fishing of his life on the lake.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review!! We're so pleased you had a wonderful time and the fishing was so great for you all. Thanks for taking good care of our property!
Melissa was a wonderful host, very quick and responsive to any message I sent, very thoughtful, being that we were there for my birthday and there was a banner hung on the fireplace upon arrival right when we walked in. The place was clean and smelled nice. Kitchen stocked with nearly anything you would need, although there weren't any corn holders that we could find. The check-in process was a little clunky, slightly on us because we were not aware we were not fully paid up for the code to work, but the pad lock entry is not very user friendly, doesn't operate the greatest. Other than that it was a perfect stay, with very comfortable beds and bedding, and there are TONS of sleeping options, way more than the 5 of us could have stayed there. Lots of varieties of games to play indoor and outdoor and the lake toy amenities were great! We would definitely come back!
Great spot! Saw lots of eagles and ospreys. Really good fishing lake. Caught bass, northern pike, and panfish. It was a little weedy near the shore for swimming off the dock. The host provided a lily pad to bring into clearer water. Paddle boat that was included is fun and easy to use. Spent time at the Franconia Sculpture Garden and Interstate Park. Both are incredible places. AC in the house worked great in the 90 plus degree weather. Quick response from the host on a couple on inquiries.

Frog
Check in and found a small frog in the bathtub and the toilets were stained yellow. The hill to the water was steeper than I expected and I just had a knee replacement and was unable to make it down to the water so I thought I would just sit by a fire. We were told to bring small pieces of wood because they had big pieces but there big pieces were not covered up so probably wet so we couldn’t even do a fire. Wanted to leave the next morning but my kids talked me out of it.

Hey Judith,
Sorry the wilderness is not to your liking. Unfortunately the well that feeds our home is full of iron (as with most non city homes), so keeping the toilet completely iron free is especially hard to maintain. Our cleaning team does an exceptional job, it is certainly not a lack of effort. I've never seen a frog in our home, that is interesting. Sorry the little guy freaked you out. We do not cover wood due the the fact that it's nestled in the midst of acreage filled with mice that would enjoy making a home of the tarp/covering. Thanks for staying with us.
About the host
Hosted by Melissa
Our family resides in the twin cities and loves doing anything outdoors. We have busy lives like everyone else so being able to have other families & friends enjoy our piece of heaven when we can't be there is wonderful!
Why they chose this property
The short drive from the cities originally lured us to the area, but the view from the deck is an A+, especially at sunset!
What makes this property unique
Our cabin has a cozy home feel, not so cabin like and the amenities & room to roam are the best.
