About this property

The Clubhouse · Horse Farm with a lake view : The Clubhouse

Completely renovated in 2019 (with updated AC unit in 2020!), this converted barn might be our most impressive dwelling. The "Clubhouse" name comes from its history as the place where young riders would gather on breaks from riding horses when the property operated solely at a horse farm. The Clubhouse is located on a hill with panoramic views of the water and pastures. Enjoy our many amenities, including a king bed, fire pit, deck with a grill, trails, and animals who call this place home.

The Clubhouse Cabin has been recently refinished and is our only cabin with a king size bed! The appliances, linens, and most of the furniture are new. This is a wonderful space for gathering with family and friends - the large deck, living room, dining room, and kitchen share a common area. In the basement, the foosball table and comfy couch with own bathroom to boot provide hours of entertainment while others comfortably sleep upstairs.

This house feels quiet and private and is surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature. Hands down, this cabin has the best views on our property of our horses grazing in the pastures.

There are three other cabins nearby on the property so you will see other guests on the property. The cabins are far enough apart where you will not be disturbed by the other cabins and will still feel secluded while getting to enjoy the peaceful scenery away from the hustle and bustle of home.

There are miles of forested hiking paths throughout the farm and access to Narrin Lake from these trails as well. Narrin Lake is a private-access, spring-fed lake with no motorsports. There are parts that can be quite clear and deep (85') and other sections are marshland. All of the shoreline is natural. If you plan to play in or near the water, we recommend water shoes or other foot protection.

We are working on building out a range of experiences for our guests to interact and learn more about the horses that live at Narrin Farms. We are not offering riding lessons or trail rides (yet!), but hope to do so soon. ****Please do NOT feed the horses. The fences around the pastures are electrified and are on at all times for the safety of the horses and donkeys; please do not touch the fence.****

You’re welcome to visit with the donkeys, Jackson and Samson, or the cow, Maxim any time! Please do not feed the donkeys (no matter how much they beg, or how cute they look).

***Please note, horses and donkeys on the property may not always be outside in the pastures or accessible as it is up to the owner’s discretion. FOR YOUR SAFETY, do NOT enter the barns or pastures without prior approval by Annie. This is not a dude ranch.***

Your host is Annie, who also co-hosts with Holly and Carl. All three of us live nearby and are available if need be in person. Annie will make sure The Clubhouse is ready upon your arrival so that you can walk in and make yourself at home. If you have questions, it’s easy to reach Annie or Holly via cell or the Airbnb app.

The farm is located in a rural area. Expect a country atmosphere and small-town presence. You'll need to drive on a dirt road for about a mile to access the property.

Our little town offers a 24-hour grocery store, bars, restaurants, and drug stores within just a few miles. Nine miles further down the road is the village of Clarkston, where you'll find unique and upscale shopping and dining. Major shopping malls, movie theaters, and big-box retailers are 25 minutes away. Please see my House Manual and Guidebook for details.

There's not much for Uber or Taxi services around the farm. You will want to have your own car.

For an accurate rate, make sure you enter the correct number of people in your party. The rate that defaults in the system is based on 4-person occupancy. Each additional guest over the age of two is $50/night.

If you are planning to have additional visitors drop in, make sure that you comply with the guidelines that are provided in the Rules section.

Many GPS Systems will route you to an old commercial entrance off Glass Road. Make sure that you enter through the main gates on the paved drive from Bird Road instead.

Please read the guest manual before arriving. It includes important instructions about how to enter the farm and where to park.

There are a few farm dogs that reside on the property - they're our friendly pets but also have a job to do! Don't be afraid if you're greeted by them from time to time.

We aim to provide a peaceful and scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay with us. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that leaves a distinct odor after your departure or finding any drugs or evidence of partying violates this policy and will result in a $250 restoration fee. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the property or inside the cabin.
Welcome! Here's your essential guide to making yourself at home on the farm. Read this before you arrive!

Checking In and Checking Out
The cabin will be locked when you arrive. Please refer to the Yale Keypad code and instructions you will receive an hour or more prior to your check in. In the summer, please do NOT turn off the air conditioners in either the kitchen or the upstairs King bedroom; instead turn them to 72 degrees. In the Winter, please turn the furnace thermostat to 50 degrees upon checking out. Unless other arrangements have been made, check-in is any time after 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 p.m.

Smoking and Partying Policy
We aim to provide a peaceful and scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay with us. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that leaves a distinct odor after your departure or finding any drugs or evidence of partying violates this policy and will result in a $250 restoration fee. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the property or inside the cabin.

Coming and Going
Some GPS systems might direct you to enter the farm via the commercial entrance along Glass Road. This is the wrong entrance and will lead you onto a grassy service drive through our fields and pastures . Instead, please use the northernmost entrance off Bird Road, which is paved, has an arch with three peaks and and leads directly to the drive that leads to your cabin.

When you pull into the driveway, you’ll face The Lodge – look for a big house with three red peaks. Come straight forward and then bear left before you get to The Lodge and you will see our Clubhouse cabin. Head down the driveway just past the house and park in the parking spots to the left of the deck in front of the grey barn doors with an "X" on them.

You will then walk around to enter the front door of the cabin, past the deck and up the paved steps.

Please drive slowly when coming and going. It’s not uncommon for dogs or horseback riders to be wandering on or near the roads and paths throughout the property.

Entering/Exiting the Cabin
We useYale keypad locks for our cabins. You will receive your own code one hour prior to your stay starting.

Here are the instructions to enter:

1. Tap the "Yale" logo
2. A keypad will appear. Enter your unique code provided to you.
3. Tap the check mark and the door should open.
4. Once inside, you can manually lock the deadbolt by turning it.
5. To lock the door from the outside when you leave, you simply tap the "Yale" logo and the door should lock.

We ask that you lock the front door door when you leave the property upon completion of your stay and of course at your leisure when coming and going each day.

Screen Time - Bring your Amazon login or Laptop!
The television comes equipped with an Amazon Fire Stick, login with your Amazon account. We have fast and reliable internet, so you shouldn’t have a problem streaming any of your favorite shows or movies.

Narrin Lake & Activities
There are numerous forested hiking paths throughout the farm and access to Narrin Lake from these trails as well. Narrin Lake is a private-access, spring-fed lake with no motorsports. There are parts that can be quite clear and deep (85') and other sections are marshland. All of the shoreline is natural. If you plan to play in or near the water, we recommend water shoes or other foot protection. There's a trail marked with green and white arrow signs that will lead you from the barn area to the dock access to the lake. From the dock you can fish (at your discretion if you purchase a fishing license), and wade out to the deeper, clear waters of the lake to swim. Just a heads up: we're in the process of renovating this area; we will notify you before your visit if there are any changes.

The Donkeys, Cow & Horses
We are working on building out a range of experiences for our guests to interact and learn more about the horses that live at Narrin Farms. We are not offering riding lessons or trail rides yet, but hope to do so soon. ****Please do NOT feed the horses. The fences around the pastures are electrified and are on at all times for the safety of the horses and donkeys; please do not touch the fence.****

You’re welcome to visit with the donkeys, Jackson and Samson, or the cows, Maxim and Luca at any time! Please do not feed the donkeys or cows (no matter how much they beg, or how cute they look).

Wildlife and other Critters
There’s lots of nature outside your door! You might hear the coyote rounding calls at night, and there’s fox, hawks, and eagles cruising the property as well. There are beaver, mink, muskrat, and a variety of waterfowl that hang out at the lake.

Our favorite so far!
The Clubhouse has been one of our favorite VRBO to date. The property is tastefully decorated, was well stocked with just about everything you would need to feel right at home. The farm provided a very relaxing environment - so much that we extended our stay. Sitting on the patio watching the sunset was the perfect way to end the day. I would highly recommend staying here. We certainly plan to be back. ♥️

Last minute trip
We loved our short stay here! We had to book last minute for a family funeral, and when the funeral was changed, the owners were fantastic and shifted our reservation dates to accommodate for our needs. Excellent communication and great place to stay. Would definitely recommend any of the cabins on their property!!
