Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed The Bagley House and the charm of our little town. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!

The house is larger than it appears in the photos and has everything you would need. We were in town for our daughter's wedding and we filled the house with the Bridal party and our family. There is soo much character everywhere in the house. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were large, the kitchen had every amenity I could ask for. Our POC for the house, Megan, was soo accommodating. The wedding date shifted by 2 months when the military had other plans for her fiancé, and we were allowed to shift our reservation without extra cost. Then we wanted to come in a day early to get ready, so she let us add a day. At the end the wedding wrap up ended late and we asked for late check out, which she again granted. It was a wonderful stay and I'd stay here again, but maybe without the pressures of wedding next time.

Thank you so much for this beautiful review. It was truly an honor to host your family during such a meaningful season.
The Bagley House was made for moments like this, full of laughter, celebration, and generations gathered under one roof. We are so glad the space worked well for the bridal party and your family, and that you felt comfortable and well-equipped throughout your stay. That means everything to us.
Weddings (especially with military schedule changes!) can bring unexpected shifts, and we were more than happy to accommodate what we could to help ease that stress. Our goal is always to create a space where families feel supported and cared for, not just housed.
Next time, we would love to welcome you back for a slower visit. One where you can simply relax and enjoy the character and charm of the home without a full wedding timeline attached.
Congratulations again to your daughter and your entire family. You were such a joy to host.

Thank you so much the review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you visit again soon.
Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home that takes you to a different era. A simpler time. The history . Since 1911 she has sheltered people. If only her walls could talk. Absolutely a wonderful memory I will not forget. Don't hesitate. Everyone should experience this home. 5 stars!

Thank you for such a touching review. It means so much to us that you felt the history and heart of the home—she truly is something special. Since 1911, The Bagley House held countless stories, and we're so honored it could be part of yours. We’re thrilled it left a lasting memory, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime to create even more.

We had a party of 14 staying at Blackstone for a friend's wedding at the Waverly Estate. Megan was extremely communicative. She answered many of the questions I had about the room arrangements and if we could check-in a bit earlier for a few of our guests. The decor was stellar, kitchen was stocked with Keurigs and cooking utensils, and even the TV in a few rooms allowed for some karaoke fun! The Wal-Mart is not too far away from here, if you need to make a grocery run. The only issue I found was the challenge of temperature, since some guests were sweating while others were freezing during the night. We perhaps did not get the thermostat settings quite right. Overall, would HIGHLY recommend this stunning Vrbo to anyone who's in town! It was a bargain for our large party.

Thank you so much for the review. We love to hear that our guests enjoy their stay! Not sure what was going on with the thermostat. We haven’t had any concerns in the past but checked to make sure everything is working properly. We hope to have you visit again.
About the host
Hosted by Megan Little-Moran
We’re Megan and Jim, the husband-and-wife team behind **JMC Retreats**, and hosting is truly a labor of love for us.
We’re both Virginia natives and have always been drawn to old homes with stories to tell. Megan comes from a background in healthcare, event coordinating, and real estate, while Jim brings years of hands-on contracting experience. Together, we restore historic homes with care—preserving their character while thoughtfully updating them to be comfortable, functional, and welcoming for modern guests.
We love hosting because we genuinely enjoy creating spaces where people can come together. Family reunions, milestone celebrations, weekend getaways, and even annual traditions have all taken place under this roof, and it’s an honor to be part of those moments. We’re especially passionate about being **pet-friendly**, because to us, family includes four-legged members too.
Guests often mention our communication, flexibility, and attention to detail—and that means everything to us. We’re hands-on, approachable, and always just a message away if you need anything during your stay.
At the end of the day, our goal is simple: we want you to feel comfortable, cared for, and completely at home the moment you walk through the door.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it reflects everything we love about small-town Southern living—walkable, welcoming, and rich with character.
The Bagley House sits in the heart of **historic Blackstone**, where front porches still matter and neighbors wave as they pass. From the house, you can stroll to local restaurants, coffee spots, and antique shops, making it easy to slow down and truly enjoy your surroundings without needing to hop in the car.
What we love most is the pace. Mornings are quiet and peaceful, perfect for coffee on the front porch. Afternoons invite wandering through town, and evenings feel cozy and calm—ideal for gathering back at the house after a day out. It’s a neighborhood that feels lived-in and loved, not crowded or commercial.
There’s a strong sense of community here, and guests often tell us how safe, relaxed, and at home they feel during their stay. It’s the kind of place where you can unplug, reconnect, and experience a more intentional way of traveling—while still being close to everything you need.
What makes this property unique
What makes The Bagley House truly special isn’t just its size or style—it’s the feeling you get the moment you arrive.
Built in 1911 and thoughtfully restored, this seven-bedroom historic home blends timeless Southern charm with the modern comforts today’s travelers expect. Original character lives on in the tall ceilings, wide staircases, and welcoming front porch, while the interior has been intentionally renovated for gathering, resting, and reconnecting.
Unlike many large rentals, The Bagley House was designed with togetherness in mind. There’s room for everyone to spread out—multiple living spaces, a cozy parlor, a bar room, and a dedicated theater room—yet it still feels warm and inviting. The chef’s kitchen, complete with double ovens and two refrigerators, makes hosting family meals and celebrations easy and enjoyable.
We’re proudly pet-friendly, because we believe vacations are better when the whole family can come along. Thoughtful touches throughout the home reflect our hospitality-first approach, from comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms to a layout that works beautifully for multi-generational groups.
Step outside and you’re just a short walk from local eateries, coffee, and antique shops—no car required. Whether you’re gathering for a family reunion, celebrating a milestone, or simply slowing down together, The Bagley House offers a setting that feels both special and effortless.
It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place where traditions are made.
