Paradise Found best describes the Alpine Wilderness Lodge. What we enjoy most about the cabin is relaxing on the 60-foot deck that overlooks the pond at the end of a wonderful day! We take time to reflect on the nature hiking trails we explored and the wildlife we encountered on our adventurous walks during the day. But what keeps us coming back to the cabin is the beautiful views surrounding the property, just a reminder of our Creator in all His majesty. Enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine as you unwind.
With the option to catch dinner in town (Ellicottville) or just hang out and enjoy a BBQ, we never tire of the fresh air and plenty of sunshine as we enjoy a late dinner setting on the deck once again. Time seems to stand still at the Lodge as wonderful memories are made, memories that last a lifetime. Some of our guests have returned for their 15th year and are now bringing back the second generation of their family with them.

We enjoyed our stay at this secluded place. The lodge was clean and had plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our group of ten. Definitely would come again.
It was a perfect to be able to get away and catch up with friends! The property is amazing. Second time staying here as a group and we will definitely be coming back again.
We had a relaxing weekend. Cooking out, fishing and camp fires are how we enjoyed our time. I'm in a wheelchair and as far as wheelchair friendly I would say that the house is almost perfect with plenty of room. The door threshold could be a little difficult and the hill to the fire required a little help. I will definitely return. Thank you for the great weekend.

The lodge is super rustic, which was really cool. There was plenty of room to socialize, eat, and gather around the fire. The bedrooms are cold, so prepare accordingly. It's a pretty short drive to Holiday Valley ski area. Roughly 15-20 mintues. My only knock is that we received no entry information from the owner prior to our arrival. The only message we got was "owner will be in touch with arrival info".We arrived very late in the evening and service in the valley where the property is located is extremely spotty. So after driving to the given address and not finding the property, we had to drive back down to where we had service to call. We didn't get an answer after trying several times, and VRBO tried several times to no avail. We even drove back up to the address and walked down several driveways deep in the snow to see if we could find the property. No luck. We ended up having to book a room at a local hotel for the first night because of that.We ended up getting in touch with the owner the next day and getting in, which was good, but we were still out one night in terms of cost, and also for a hotel room. A couple of notes: The property isn't at the given address. It's a little further down the road at a dead end and still further off the road than that, so there's no way to find it if you're casually looking and driving around. If you're there in the winter, make sure you have a good all-wheel drive vehicle. We will stay there again if they'll have us.
We had a group of friends and family staying for a ski weekend, and The Lodge was perfect! There was plenty of space to spread out, but also a living room area in front of the fire place that felt super cozy. Comfortable beds, large dining table, plenty of hot water and a fire to warm up after skiing, and a casual feel...couldn't get better any better than that.
Make sure to get specific direction for getting in, as the address isn't a pinpoint location, but it's well worth the trip to have such a spacious house and property around it. We are planning to come back over the summer when we can enjoy the outside areas more. Thanks for a great stay!

The address was confusing because I assume the owner lived at the address on the listing, but "The Lodge" was about 1/4 of a mile down the road from the house address listed. There was also no cell tower available, so you could only text with the WIFI. However, the Lodge was remote, VERY peaceful and Quiet, large and open and tranquil. It was also away from any kind of traffic or any neighbors.
Loved the area, very secluded and peaceful. Great pond with bird watching and serenades by the frogs. The cabin could have been a bit cleaner, cupboards, and stove need a good cleaning, and there was a musty smell that lingered. I could tell there was a lot of history in the place and that gave it charm. The front porch was perfect. It would have been helpful to have a reference binder with info on operating stove safely and how to access cable. There was only one porch light that worked which makes those arriving in the dark for the first time a bit more challenging . Still had a wonderful family time. Great table i kitchen with room for all and then some.
This was an older hunting lodge in the woods, many game mounts and antlers, we thought it was very cool and certainly unique, close to Holiday valley, we had a great time.
We had two families spend a week here and enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty of room for 9 people and the pond was big enough to enjoy our kayaks and paddle board. Margie was great to deal with and we will back at some point in the future.
This is the ideal spot to get away from everything (including cell service). There is plenty of yard to play games like cornhole/can jam etc. The cabin had plenty of space for 8 adult men - large main room with 4 couches and tons of outdoor space. We also loved the stove, plenty of burners and a flat top section was great for breakfast.
We really enjoyed the property. We only wish we had more "quality wood" to burn in the fire pit. We used it sparingly due to lack of quality wood. We shall return next year!
A secluded spot with plenty to do. The pond was perfect to keep the kids entertained, either fishing, swimming, or jumping off the rope swing. The trails are pretty well maintained and worth the time to walk them. Overall we had an amazing time with friends and family.
We had a great time at the lodge. Its very large and roomy. It rained most of the time unfortunately, but we had board games and all kinds of stuff there too keep us occupied. Ended up being a great time bonding.
We brought our kayaks and enjoyed the pond. Didnt try the ropeswing this time, but i will on the next trip. Gas grill came in handy. Great firepit. Overall great time. We will be back
We had a wonderful time at The Lodge. Enjoyed relaxing with family and friends. Having fires indoors and out, walking the property and just overall a nice place to have a family get camp out. My 3 year old grand daughter didn't want to leave and wants to know when we can go back.
Our stay at the lodge was great! We enjoyed the remote and spaciousness of the property. The never ending trails (beautiful,) the huge yard, nice pond, and roomy house fit our family perfectly. We had all ages stay for my step-dads 50th birthday and everyone enjoyed there stay. We especially liked swimming in the pond and hanging around the campfire at night. I would definitely recommend this property - the owners were so nice as well!
We had a wonderful time staying at this perfect remote location. The cabin was very large and the property was amazing! That pond is so peaceful! A few recommendations to anyone going to visit in the future- bring your own camping chairs to sit around the fire. Other than a picnic table there is no seating. If you have small children, bring nightlights! The cabin is pitch black at night. I also felt that I had a difficult time communicating with the owner. It took a very long time for responses and when it came close to the trip I had no reply from leaving a voicemail asking for a call back. I finally had to call again and Margie was extremely pleasant to speak with. But, there was some very important details about the property that should have been addressed without me having to track the owner down. Like- the actually directions to the cabin - they are a little different from what is listed , how to get inside the place and the WiFi password. The linoleum should really be washed between guests. Also, the dumpster on the property seriously needs to be addressed. It was very full when we showed up and the bears broke in to it WITH the bungee cords still attached and we had placed rocks on top! We had to clean up other guests garbage in the morning and it was very disgusting! Even with any minor issues we would return to this place in a heartbeat! Other than the floors, the cabin was fairly clean! It was very relaxing and we had perfect summer weather to enjoy everything the place had to offer!
