About this property

Affordable Luxury in tranquil setting. Walk to beaches, pool, tennis & dining.

Step through the door of Hale Mahina Kauai and feel the aloha. The great room is the center of the home and opens onto the expansive screened lanai and the tranquil garden in the private back yard beyond. Both the kitchen and master bedroom also open to the lanai which offers dining on the kitchen end and a conversation area outside the master. The two downstairs bedrooms are on opposite sides of the great room for added privacy. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a TV and there is a 55-in smart HDTV in the great room. The upstairs loft has 2 ceiling fans and a window air conditioner (though the cross breeze through the windows on either side of the loft and the fans keep it quite comfortable most of the year)! For those of you who need to stay in touch with the real world, we offer wireless Internet service. There are ceiling fans throughout, including the lanai. The well provisioned kitchen makes preparing meals at home a pleasure as well as a huge money saver. We also provide everything you'll need to enjoy a day at the beach: snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrella, cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and more. We also include a pack and play, high chair and jogging stroller for your keiki. A much greater value than a hotel.

Location, location, location! Hale Mahina is conveniently located in the lushly landscaped 70 acre Poipu Kai Resort; which is a collection of single family homes and condos nestled along the paved greenbelt between the Grand Hyatt Resort and Poipu Beach Park. The single family home is a mere 5-10 minute walk from 3 beaches, the Resort's pool, jacuzzi and 8 tennis courts, the Grand Hyatt Resort, numerous restaurants and activities. Koloa town is 3 miles away and offers additional restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Poipu is the perfect jumping off spot for touring this incredibly beautiful island. It is centrally located between the lush north shore and the spectacular west side with its Waimea Canyon and Na Pali coast overlook. At the end of your day of touring or beaching it you can relax on the tranquil lanai with an umbrella drink or walk to Poipu Beach to watch one of the south shore's spectacular sunsets. It's your vacation. You decide!

Perfect location and amenities

The house is in the absolute perfect spot, a short walk to shipwreck beach which was never too busy. The house was great, the back lanai perfect for relaxing when it rained (or didn’t). Laundry, kitchen, grill, pool stuff was all great. Would stay here again when visiting Kaua'i!!

Home Away From Home

The perfect house for 6 of us while we vacationed throughout Kauai, but mostly around Koloa and the Poipu Beach area. We were within walking distance of multiple beaches, not to mention a bit longer of a walk to the Village shopping center. The home itself was amazing, making it difficult to leave at the end of our week there. Best of all was the open-air lanai that we used every morning and evening.

The property is beautiful with a wonderful screened lanai and a kitchen with everything you need. We were able to walk to many places and easily navigate to others. The host is very responsive, answering our emails within 5 minutes. Definitely a return to property.

Great location

We all enjoyed the house and proximity to tennis club and beach and Hyatt. The Wi-Fi was excellent too. Having All the beach chairs and towels for the beach was great A fun experience with wonderful hosts. Thank you for a great Kauai vacation.

Did not disappoint. Great home, everything you needed for stay including all you need for a day at the beach. Did not lack anything. Owners thought if everything, including extra towels, bath items, pantry items. Great place. Highly recommend!!

Perfect home base for a trip to Kauai

We really enjoyed staying here. Short (5 min) walk to the beach and pool. Plus centrally located to all the activities either on the east or west sides of the island. Also they provided beach gear including umbrellas, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, a beach wagon and rolling coolers. We have to say the lanai was a hit and much of time at the house was spent out there. We would definitely return to this house in the future.

Girls Trip

We had an amazing vacation on Kauai. This house was perfect for our group of 4 ladies. We spent our mornings either on the lanai or sitting on the front porch. Everything was perfect and we couldn’t have been happier. Mahalo

Great Location!

We loved the house’s location with the easy walking paths to great beaches. It was so nice to be able to use the sand toys, chairs, & wagon in the garage. We also really enjoyed the house’s beautiful lanai area for meals & relaxing. The house was so comfortable and spacious for our family.

We loved the area and how close it was to the beach!

We had an amazing time here. We loved how close it was to the beach. The house was nice but they could of done a better job with the cleaning. It Was not very clean when we arrived. But overall it is as a nice house to stay in and we loved the location.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. The back patio was used a lot and we appreciated being able to walk to the beach and other locations. The only thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the pool since we had to walk a distance to get there and then there were no bathrooms available during our visit. The restaurant near the pool is pretty good and we did go up there to get a snack and use the restroom. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for our needs

Beautiful place to stay. All of the amenities we could have possibly needed. Great location with a fairly easy walk to pool and beaches. Only issue was a ceiling fan light in the back covered patio area that we could not get to work. We decided it was not worth it to have someone come out to deal with it although the option was given to us by the owner. We loved being able to relax out back in the lanai. If the weather would have been a little better, we would have used more of the beach “toys” available for our use. The back lawn was too wet to enjoy playing cornhole in the backyard. We would stay there again.

A week in paradise!

This villa is amazing! It is clean and comfortable and has all the comforts of home! The renovation is beautiful. The home was clean and welcoming. The gardens are peaceful. We loved sitting on the lanai or out back and relaxing, eating meals, and was a great space for getting ready for our wedding. The only downside was having to leave after a week. Mahalo. We hope we can enjoy this space in the future.

Wonderful

what a beautiful and spacious house! Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Our favorite part was taking a walk to the beach every morning and having breakfast on the lanai. The living room has a huge couch where you can relax in the evenings watching movies on the smart TV. Each bedroom has a/c although we didn’t have to use it. Garage is full of beach equipment and beach toys and inflatables. Beds are comfortable and showers are great. Lovely stay!

Perfect for a family.

The house had everything you need for a family. Large lanai was perfect for meals and enjoying the weather. Poipu beach is very close to walk or drive. Everything you needed for the beach was at the house. Beds were comfortable, showers were fabulous. The ice machine was very handy for packing a cooler. The gas grill was in good working order, which is a plus for family dinners. Just too many nice things to day about our stay. You must pick this place, you will be in Kauai heaven!

Amazing!

This house was so awesome, my family and I loved staying here and it was hard to leave. The whole house was great but everyone favorite was the screened lanai, everyone spend most of their time out there, when we weren't at the beautiful south shore beaches. We had our coffee out there, ate our dinners or just sat and watched the rain or the sunlight through the trees. The house was very well stocked and the owners were so quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend this home! Holly

Peace of Paradise

Loved our stay here! First I will say as a southern girl I was worried about not having A/C in every room, but it was not an issue! With the windows and doors open, the winds came right through and cooled the place off quickly. The kitchen was well stocked, and there is plenty of seating to eat inside or outside. The washer and dryer in the master made washing all those beach towels and swimsuits so easy. The beach equipment is top notch. They have EVERYTHING, you need to bring nothing! They provide beach towels, plenty of beach chairs (we used 6 and there were more left), surf board, boogie boards, football, snorkel gear, umbrellas, and a wagon to pull it all! Wifi worked great. Door code so you didn’t have to fuss with a key. This house was a perfect home base for our trip. This house is a quick walk over to the Grand Hyatt, I think it took about 5 minutes and that’s a pretty place to walk around at night. There is a pool and hot tub that’s about a 10 min walk for our use with a key fob, but we were so tired from beaching it every day we didn’t make it there. Would definitely recommend staying here, it really was perfect.

This was the ideal location for a trip to Kauai for my family of 8 (6 adults and 2 babies). 2 great beaches were in within 5-15 minutes of walking from the house. Quiet location and easy to main roads. Great shops, coffee and food nearby. Host was very accessible and gave us a kind welcome gift- which we have never received before from any host.

We booked this home for 6 adults. My 16 yr old and 1 yr grandson. The home was wonderful. Close to everything we needed. The garage has ample supply of beach chairs, wagon, umbrellas. I would love to come back and if in the area again would stay there.

Kauai Family Vacay 2025

We spent 8 days in Kauai at this very beautiful and comfortable home with plenty of room for 6 adults (3 couples), walking distance to two excellent beaches, and proximity to all the major island sites. Koloa is a cool town located very close by with good places to eat and drink. The house was stocked with excellent quality beach accessories including umbrellas, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, a surf board, coolers, a towable beach wagon, and more. The beautiful and spacious lanai with ample high quality furniture and dining tables was our headquarters for coffee in the morning, and wonderful meals of local seafood. The kitchen was very well-stocked for cooking. Heather was a completely responsive and generous host. We cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you again, Heather! We can't wait to come back!

Your home was excellent for our multi generational family of six vacation. We enjoyed the lanai and the trade winds. We walked to the beaches every day and enjoyed seeing turtles and seals. We liked the well equipped kitchen. We liked the quick response to the shower issue.

Fabulous Home for a Family Reunion

We absolutely loved our stay at Hale Mahina. The home is spacious and clean and in a wonderful neighborhood. So close to multiple access points of the green belt making it easy to access Shipwreck, Poipu and Brenecke Beaches! The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We had no issues whatsoever and would highly recommend this. While it does not have whole house A/C we did not find this to be a problem with great strong ceiling fans and cross breezes - enjoying the truly fresh air! Absolutely love the lanai - so wonderful for relaxing.
