Guests can also have access to the Northstar Property Owner Association (NPOA) rec center with full fitness center, multiple pools (lap pool and hot tubs open during winter), youth center, tennis courts, and massage therapy. Guest access to the rec center costs $5 / guest / day paid directly to NPOA at their front desk. Swim towels available at the rec center for $1 / towel.

Northstar California Resort offers year-round activities including skiing, ice-skating, golf, mountain biking, swimming, and tennis. It is a fantastic beginner/family ski resort with great ski/snowboard schools as well as overall less steep terrain. The Northstar Village has some of the best apres-ski spots in Tahoe as well as complimentary s'mores around the fire pits surrounding the ice-rink at 4pm. The Ski Trails Condo are well situated between the ski slope and the Northstar Village.

Amazing property in convenient Ski Trails area

We had a wonderful stay at this property for our last ski trip of the season. We've stayed at a lot of Ski Trails area condos over the years, and this is our favorite one by far. All the appliances in the kitchen were in great shape, as were the Nest thermostat and fireplace. Both bathrooms looked to be recently renovated, and the updates were both tasteful and practical (imagine a bathtub you actually want to use!). Our kids loved the bunk _plus_ queen bed upstairs, and they were excited by all the available board games. The internet was very fast and the WiFi signal strong, and we even successfully cast a movie to the downstairs TV for a movie afternoon. We're looking forward to booking another stay at this property soon!

Perfect location

Loved this condo! Perfectly situated next to the mountains for an easy walk to North Star village and a quick walk across the parking lot to ski in/ski out. Plenty of space for kids to play in the snow outside. Short drive to grocery store and downtown truckee. The condo was a perfect size for our family of 5. Excellent communication with the owner/property manager. Definitely recommend.

Great condo close to the village and the slopes

My family and I (spouse, 2 kids - 9yo and 12yo, and my mother) enjoyed a great stay of 4 nights early January. The living space is very cozy with a view of the trees and Lake Tahoe in the horizon. The kitchen is very functional and well stocked. Everything worked well, including streaming to the TV which was very convenient to watch a family movie after a nice day on the slopes! The condo is close to the Village Run trail and at a walking distance from the Big Spring and the Highlands gondolas. It is convenient to drop and pickup the kids at their snowboard lessons. The way back to the condo is uphill. It is a short walk but it is worth having a shoulder strap or a backpack with ski/snowboard carry. The communication with the property manager was excellent: responsive, clear, and caring.

Slope Side Serenity: Family Friendly with Recreation

Our love of travel has taken us all over the world, but Lake Tahoe is one of the most special places.

After years of renting, we finally have our very own vacation homes at where we feel offers the best of each of these locations. Northstar California Resort is our favorite all-season family-friendly destination in Tahoe and our ski-in/ski-out condo is located at the heart of the resort.

We have seen our fair shares of hotels and Airbnbs and can't wait to meet fellow travelers and give them the same great hospitality that we have been shown across the globe.

Why they chose this property

We have been driving to ski at Lake Tahoe for years. It's always been worth the trip, but eventually we starting having a larger family and realized that we needed a place for the kids to recharge during the day. This condo was absolutely perfect for what we needed. It's make it easy to get on the slopes in the morning and return for lunch. We also realized there's much more to Tahoe than the snow, and this has been a great base for exploring the best of Tahoe all year round.

What makes this property unique

Ski-in/Ski-out when conditions permit immediately off Coyote Fork run. Easy walk to Condo & Village run located at other side of parking lot. During summer, this is also a prime location for mountain biking at Northstar. Easy driving access to Truckee and Lake Tahoe.
