Long Weekend in Bar Harbor

Everything was wonderful!

We have been coming to this lovely Bar Harbor townhouse for the past eight years. It is located on a quiet street in the center of town and is an easy walk to restaurants, stores, and the pier. The location is excellent! This rental home is charming and immaculate. The owner DeeDee makes sure that her renters have everything they need. You will not be disappointed in this rental and will want to return every year!

Awesome Family Vacation

Our family of 7 (5 children aged 8-20) just returned from an unforgettable vacation in Bar Harbor in mid-August 2009. The last time my wife and I had visited was approximately 25 years ago. Right from my initial booking of the rental, Dee Dee was an amazing host, maintaining pertinent and timely email (and phone) contacts about the vacation details and the sights around Bar Harbor. When we arrived at the beautiful home, we were pleased that this home on Ledgelawan Ave is a mere few blocks walk from the hopping downtown area, yet is in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. The house is split into 2 different living spaces/apartments. Ours had a porch, a mudroom (great for reading in the morning with a cup of coffee enjoying the sunrise), a large living room with multiple sofas and recliners, a large full kitchen complete with stove, oven, m/w, d/w, refrigerator/freezer, and every amenity one would need right down to dishwashing detergent, sponge and pan scraper, condiments, and even a brand new boxed coffee maker (since the coffee maker just broke prior to our arrival). The downstairs bathroom has full sized washer/dryer. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom. The condition of the entire apartment was impeccable -- clean, bright, freshly painted walls, etc. We brought our bicycles, and stored them outside. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park had endless family opportunities. The first afternoon of our arrival we headed over to the Beehive Trail. Each day we alternated between hiking one of the many mountains and trails (with the strenuous Precipice climb on our last day), with biking 10-15 miles along the car-free carriage paths which run through the central northern portion of the park. The wild blueberries were in full bloom, and we enjoyed snacking on them during most of our hikes/bikes. We also had a great time on a sea kayak sunset tour where we saw seal, dolphins, and many bird species. We ate at many fine restaurants, with our favorites being Poor Boy's gourmet and the Thirsty Whale, both in downtown, and within easy walking distance. Eating lobster in the various restaurants was, of course, a frequent selection. The week passed much too quickly, yet provided a great (healthy) family vacation which the kids will long remember. Many thanks to our host, Dee Dee, for offering this great accomodation as well as for welcoming us into the area with her kindness and her advice.

Thank you DeeDee! Deedee came out and greeted us immediately and baked homemade blueberry muffins. The house was conveniently located to downtown & the Park. The house was also very clean and had everything accessory wise you would need. Was also a very safe area! Plenty of pillows, blankets & towels. Would definitely stay there again! Thanks DeeDee!

This was our fifth vacation rental in Bar Harbor and was by far the best. Dee Dee was an outstanding host. She was very friendly, informative, and highly responsive. The attached rental house was spotless with comfortable furniture and beds, excellent water pressure, virtually instant hot water, and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The location is near perfect in Bar Harbor. It’s quick 5 min walk to downtown and the grocery store. To can easily get to Acadia without going through downtown. The house is on a wide street, a rarity in Bar Harbor with plenty of off street parking. Thank you Dee Dee. We will be back!!!

Awesome home near everything

Very clean home, was close to town which made for easy walking access….no worries about parking! Beds were comfy, plenty of linens, towels, even soap. Love that she had a new sponge for us for cleaning dishes! Owner made us feel very welcomed, and even brought us fresh blueberry muffins! High recommend.

Was a lovely time of year to visit. Perfect weather!! We hiked all over and did biking. Accessibility to free shuttles to navigate around the park. Our rental home couldn’t be more perfect. Awesome location that allowed for easy walking into the town of Bar Harbor with plenty of great eating choices. Food and hospitality was great! Our host was Dee Dee who lived on the other side of the home. Such a pleasure as she was very accessible and resourceful. We all loved our stay and plan to return someday. Exactly what we needed!

Family of four with an 11 and 12 yr old. This was perfect for our family. We had lots of plans to see Acadia and Bar Harbor but wanted a comfortable place to sleep with a kitchen in a convenient location. This was the perfect rental for us. It was clean, neighborhood was quiet, had fast WiFi, good air conditioning and was no more than 10 min walk to everything we needed in Bar Harbor. Our host was helpful, friendly and available if we needed her. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Stay in Bar Harbor
