We were thoroughly pleased with our accommodations! The place was spotless and so warm and inviting. It had everything you could need. We are so happy we have found this place that we are planning on returning many more times!
A wonderful weekend stay. I wish it was longer. Not only was the space larger than expected, it was extremely comfortable, with great views. I noticed little details that made for a pleasant surprises.

Cathilynn,
Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure hosting you and your family. Hope you visit again.
We had a lovely time viewing the eclipse with the very friendly hosts. The room was perfect for this amazing occasion. It's a very large and roomy space for a couple with a nice view of the St. Lawrence. The location is perfect for exploring the area and easy access to Canada over the bridge in Ogdensburg.

Steve,
Thank you for the kind words. We enjoyed having you two visit. Hope to see you here again.
Was much larger than I thought it would be. It has all the amenities you need for a nice stay. The bed was the best I have ever slept in. It was clean and well cared for. There were books and board games available. We loved this studio apartment! Would stay again and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

The house itself is nice and roomy for our group of 3 and a dog. Can tell that it is fairly newly renovated. The owner was very responsive when I had questions. Giving it 3 stars due to the fact that the grass was very high. I was nervous for ticks on us as well as our dog. The beachfront area isn’t useable. We walked down to let our dog swim and as she was in the water and our 6 year old was playing we noticed glass and a bunch of rusty nails. It looked like someone previously had a fire down there and never cleaned up. The grill also had dirty used utensils on it when we went to use it. We really wanted a yard to play in and water to safely walk into for our child and dog.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you found the house spacious and comfortable, and that you appreciated the recent renovations and our responsiveness during your stay.
That said, I’d like to clarify a few points. The grass may have appeared slightly overgrown due to rain between our regularly scheduled Sunday mowings. We maintain the yard with our mower set at a height of 5 to keep the lawn healthy. On the afternoon of your checkout, we were outside in the backyard ourselves with our 3-month-old infant—something we would not do if we believed the area was unsafe.
Regarding the riverfront, it is a natural shoreline, not a manicured beach. We encourage guests to use normal caution in outdoor environments, especially with children or pets. Describing the area as “unusable” is an overstatement. We inspected it after your stay and found a small amount of debris, which has since been removed. Many guests, including those with dogs and young children, enjoy this area regularly and safely.
As for the grill utensils, that was a miss on our cleaning team's part, and we’ve addressed it to ensure better oversight moving forward.
We work hard to provide a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment, and we’re always available to address concerns during a stay. We appreciate honest feedback but also want to ensure reviews reflect the property accurately for future guests.
First off, I enjoyed my stay at this lovely location in Northern NY.
There are a few items that the owner should make sure are completed for the next guest’s arrival.
The grill was very dirty and would not fire up.
The lawn/grass was very long which made it a hard to walk down to get a closer look at the St Lawrence River. The grass was cut towards the end of the week which we appreciate.
Perhaps you could cut a dirt path on either side of your property, so your guests have an easier way to get to the river.
Lastly, the front of this location needs a bit of curb appeal.
Aside from the above ITEMS this was a nice vacation rental.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate your comments. Unfortunately our regular yard person had not come earlier in the week and we had to get a backup (thank you for informing us that it wasn't cut). Regarding the grill, we are checking it to ensure that it is clean and is working.
We do agree that a dirt path would be a good idea. We are still in the process of renovating the property (as you probably assumed from seeing the construction that is currently going on). We hope to have a paved stone path and a patio with a fireplace in by next summer. Regarding the front of the house, the same in terms of we are trying to get things done one at a time and our goal is to have it completed by next summer.
Thank you for your stay. We really hope you come back and see us again.
This stay was a homecoming for me, since my parents had lived right on the St. Lawrence, and nearly the entirety of my late mom's family still live nearby. The area is largely agricultural, with many dairy farms and green pastures. It is a truly beautiful part of NY State and we were very much looking forward to getting back there to visit.
We were not disappointed. The property is very nice -- extremely clean and well maintained, with a GREAT bed! The property owner, Ali,is extremely pleasant and was more than helpful. Since he lives above the property he was readily accessible through the contact number. When we found that the coffee machine was not working on our first morning, he provided us with another machine within a few hours.
My only issues with the property were that the drain in the shower always backed up and that it was also quite cold in the bathroom (more on this below), so we only showered a few times. We never reported the blocked drain, which I realize now we should have done. Heat for the entire property, which is quite large, with the bathroom located quite far from the heat source, was provided by one very large (propane) gas space heater, which scared me somewhat because of an odd-looking -- repair?-- on the heater's gas supply line. I don't know what can be done about the cold bathroom; I will mention it to Ali.
Nevertheless, a wonderful stay in a very clean, nice space with a GREAT bed! I can only recommend a stay here!
