From what we observed, the front door only locks from the outside minus the old chain lock. The downstairs door in a guest room leading outside does not even shut let alone lock. This place is nice but needs new locks to ensure a safe stay which also includes fire safety.

Pleasant, rustic, nice view, but with a few problems

Overall the stay was nice. There were a few problems: 1) there are 3 doors in the lower level leading to the patio. The north door (coming off the bedroom) had a broken lock which created a potential break in problem. 2) The lower level gas fireplace was not vented and produced a strong gas odor from the pilot light, until it was turned off when we called maintenance. 3) The floors are uneven and have small ledges between some of the rooms creating a tripping hazard. 4) The driveway is very difficult to back in or out of. 5) lots of traffic noise from highway 219. But for the price it had a pleasant rustic feel with lots of room and we enjoyed it.
