About this property

Off Ski Hill Rd, Amazing Views, MANY large windows, 1.5 Acres, Quiet, Spacious

Unique architectural style. Beds for 10 in this beautiful and spacious 3 BR + loft, 2 full baths house with open floor plan, on 1.5 acres off of Ski Hill Road, between Driggs and Grand Targhee Resort (15 minute drive to Grand Targhee). Air conditioning installed--rare for Teton Valley! Great views of Grand Teton and surrounding mountain ranges through huge picture windows, plenty of privacy, and peace and quiet. It is a 5 minute drive into town, where there is an excellent, modern grocery store, a fine wine shop, several outdoors shops and outfitters, and many other stores, as well as several very good restaurants. It is 9.7 miles (about a 15 min. drive) up to the ski area, where there is fantastic downhill and nordic skiing, as well as a tubing hill.

Grand Targhee consistently gets more snowfall than any other ski area in Idaho, and has unbelievable powder skiing! Additionally, throughout the valley there are multiple opportunities for nordic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

When the snow melts, the trails are great for hiking and mountain biking, and there are fantastic outdoors music concerts and festivals. There is also fabulous fly-fishing in the area with 3 world-renowned rivers (S. Fork Snake, Henry's Fork, and Teton) and ~ 20 productive smaller streams within 40 minutes.

We are a 45 min drive over the pass to Jackson Hole, and an hour drive up to Yellowstone National Park. Many people say that the summers in the Teton Valley are even better than the winters--come see for yourself!

For details about skiing / snowboarding / nordic skiing during the winter and music festivals / mountain biking / hiking during the summer at Grand Targhee, check out Grand Targhee's website.

***Our vacation rental property is a pet-friendly property. Please note, however, that you must obtain approval to bring your pet prior to arrival. We ask for a brief description of your pet(s): age, duration of time pet has been house trained, when (if ever) was last event of property damage caused by pet, what you plan to do with your pet when you are away from the house, etc. We almost always approve pets to accompany our guests. Please also note that there is a pet fee PER PET, outlined in the contract that you will electronically review and digitally sign prior to completing your reservation and first payment. If you have any questions about our pet policy or fee, please contact us.

Amenities in the house include:
Main floor:
* Master BR with king size bed, huge walk-in closet, and large bathroom that includes large soaker tub, shower, and double sinks.
* 2nd BR with king size bed
* 2nd full bath with shower / bathtub combo
* Large great room / den with incredible views through the many large picture windows, gas fireplace, and TV with Hulu Live TV (most cable / satellite channels) plus Amazon Fire Stick for streaming content
* Dining area with dining table with leaves and chairs that can accommodate up to 10 people
* Huge, full kitchen with all appliances (including Kitchenaid mixer, full-size food processor, Vitamix blender, and large crock pot)
* Full size washer and drier
2nd floor:
* Loft area with TV / DVD with Hulu Live TV, foosball table, and twin size fold-down futon
* 3rd bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 queen size bed
* Anteroom with full size bed that can sleep 2 additional people

Please note that we maintain our house in a "western rustic" style that is conservation-minded. The high valley meadow surrounding the house is beautiful, and we do not trim it during the summer except within a one foot area next to the front sidewalk and around the back patio and horseshoe pit area. This is common for this area. We have not installed a lawn because that is not natural to the area, and unnecessarily requires extra water. We maintain a very comfortable house and furniture and bedding for our guests. Simply, this house and property are in a great location with spectacular views, excellent comfort, and many great amenities which we love.

Please also note that, during winter, we pay a snow removal service to clear snow on our driveway and front walkway. We do not have snow removed from our back patio, fire pit area, horseshoe pits, etc.

Please come check out our house, and one of our favorite places on Earth. And please let me know if you have any questions or need any recommendations during your stay. I want you to be thrilled with your stay in our house and your time in the Teton Valley!

Great base for a trip to Grand Targhee/Jackson Hole

This place was great for a group of 7-8 people. The upstairs loft is a bit smaller than it looks in the pictures but outside of that it was great.

Would Recommend

We enjoyed our anniversary weekend in this home! It has everything you need and is in a good location for exploring the area. Our two dogs loved all the sunlight coming through the windows and spent time napping in all the good spots! The owner was very responsive to any questions we had before and during our stay.

Accommodating

We had a wonderful stay in Driggs, Idaho and the owners of the property were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The grocery store in town has everything you might need and the house is nicely stocked with spices, etc. The Idaho side of the Grand Tetons is worth exploring.

Breathtaking location!

We had the most wonderful stay in this terrific home . Every window had the most magnificent view of the valley and mountains and the sunrises and sunsets were incredible . We saw deer most days outside. The home was spacious and cosy and had everything you could possibly need. Any questions were promptly answered. It was an easy drive up to Grand Targhee and shops and restaurants were a short drive away . Would love to stay here again .

Perfect property & owners

This is an awesome home to stay when visiting Grand Targhee ski area. The owners are so responsive and make renting extremely easy, much better than any resort management company could ever be. The home is comfortable and the beds are the best ever. Cleaning was thorough and could not have been done any better even in this Covid enviroment. Will definately not look any further next time skiing at the "Ghee". Thanks Perry & Desiree

Sunshine in the Tetons

Had a lovely stay . Skied JH Targhee, Teton pass , Teton canyon all within 45 min drive. House was filled with sun which was great. Private with awesome views. Master bed super comfortable. Plenty of seating at dining table and living room . Wish there was an outdoor hot tub after a long day of skiing but otherwise so happy with our stay . Can’t wait to return. Don’t miss eating at royal wolf truffle fries and wings are yummy. Pizza at Tatanka delicious. Teton Thai always ! Thank you Perry !

Family Ski Trip

This place felt like a mix between a rustic cabin and a modern day home. Great views though the big windows an upstairs loft with extra room for sleeping or games. We enjoyed cooking meals together and gathering around the large dining table to eat and play games. The garage came in handy because it snowed every night we were here. This the vehicles were ready for the 20 minute drive to Grand Targhee resort. It is also close to Driggs, ID (8 minutes) which was handy because we made a couple quick trips into town for some extra groceries because we worked up a big appetite after skiing some epic powder all day!

Clean, beautiful views, everything you need!

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely home May 29-30th at the start of a vacation through the tetons and yellowstone. Our group of 8 were very comfortable and the home is very spacious. The views from around the home are spectacular, and we enjoyed using the tremendously supplied kitchen and outside grill! We commented that this home was better supplied than our own! Perry was easy to work with and suggested a trip to Mesa falls on our way to yellowstone! I highly recommend this stop as it was one of our vacation highlights. The home was clean and smelled good, which is very important to us. The spiral staircase to the upper loft area was a bit tricky to navigate for the adults, but was fine for the teenagers. The kids loved the mini pool table too! Thanks Perry for allowing us to stay in your home and we will definately look you up if we head your way in the future!

Perfect Location Among Parks’ Wonders

This home in Targhees Ranch was well situated between parks for our purpose of taking our time to see all there was to see in the area. There were only 3 of us, but the home could have easily handled 5 more. It was well equipped with all the necessities. Come by and check the pantry before you shop! Not only were the NPs amazing but Driggs turned out to be a charming place to relax between forays into the parks. We found the locals to be extremely helpful. On our last night, we went in search of the still elusive Moose. We had 5 different individuals help us. The last 2 were a couple that escorted us through the “moosy” riparian areas south of town until we’d seen and photograph 4 different moose, a Sandhill crane, a kingfisher and a bald eagle. It was the red ribbon around a perfect trip!

Great Place in the Teton Valley

We absolutely loved our stay in Driggs. The place had the perfect layout for our two families with 3 teenagers. The upstairs loft area was the hangout for the kids and they loved having their own space. There was ample of supplies of anything we needed at the house and lots of extras like bean bag toss and horseshoes. Two King beds were really nice for the adults. We enjoyed lots of time on the patio with bonfires watching the sunset. Great location close to all Driggs has to offer.

Why they chose this property

We discovered Driggs and the Teton Valley back in 1999, and immediately fell in love with the area. During the winter, the powder skiing at Grand Targhee is UNBELIEVABLE, plus there are many different places to nordic ski and snowshoe. The summers are fantastic, with beautiful weather, cool nights, and unending outdoor activities that include hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, and many great outdoor music concerts and festivals. Throw in the great restaurants and outdoor shops in Driggs, how nice the locals are here, that Jackson Hole is 40 minutes away, and that Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are only an hour away for some fun day trips, and you have my heaven on earth--Driggs and the Teton Valley.
