About this property

The Roost! 5 min. To D Park & Coop!

Please be aware of a 6 night minimum/ maximum for June, July and August rentals. The Roost has just been put back on VRBO after a 2 year hiatus to help out with the NYC rental demands in the area after COVID. Please read reviews on my other properties ;).

The Roost is a historic property in the center of the Hamlet of Toddsville. It was built by the Todd sons in the mid 1800s. It has a lot of character starting with wide plank floors in the kitchen and beautiful railings at the stair. Original plaster walls and wavy glass are also characteristics of the house. It was considered a humble yet fine home for its day. It was renovated 6 years ago and has a casual earthy meets modern vibe.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Excellent location being 5 minutes from Dreams Park and from 5 minutes from Cooperstown Village...squarelly btwn the two.
During the summer months of June, July and August this is a 6 day max/min rental and follows the Dreams park calendar.

Cute Old House
We stayed here for a week in July 2023. The house was built in 1830 and it still has some original features. There was AC window units in all bedrooms and living room. At times the house gets warm but can easily be cooled with the AC units. There is 3 bedrooms (queen, queen, twin with trundle) and 1 bathroom upstairs. 1 king bed downstairs with a bathroom. The beds were comfortable and sheets/pillows were clean. Very convenient location, only a few minutes to Dreams Park. We did have a small problem with the headboard on the bed downstairs but Roberta was very quick to come help us. Towels are not provided unless flying, or requested. We did have to buy our own toilet paper and paper towels. We did notice the water smelled of rust or iron in all bathrooms and kitchen. Seems to be common for that area as other people staying in the area had the same problem. Overall the house is cute and old.

Nice house
Overall, the house was just fine. It fulfilled our needs as we did not spend much time at the house at all.

Well, lets see..., architectural designer, painter, ceramicist, builder, visual explorer....wanderer! A lifelong (almost!) resident of the beautiful Cooperstown rolling hills and ...THE LAKE!!!!! My Zen place.

Why they chose this property

I love historic buildings with a cool history...this is one of them having been built by the son of the founder of the hamlet of Toddsville: Jehiel Todd. (1790)
