I am so glad that you found the house satisfactory. You seemed to enjoy the views and time outside too. Thanks for choosing Meadowoods Farm and Guest House. Come again!
enjoyed two weeks at this property. Owner was very responsive and helpful, property was very beautiful. will definitely be back if our travel brings us here again
Stayed here with family for a few days while visiting relatives in the area. Two ground-level bedrooms were a plus for older adults with limited mobility, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

Watching the wind waves in the field is the most relaxing part. It's great to be so close to Denison campus. Thanks!

Thank you for noticing the wind waves in the fields. It’s like watching the ocean. Wild turkeys are nesting in the far back field. You inspired me to put a canapé tent on my wishlist.
This was a great place to stay for alumni weekend at Denison! Beautiful property and a comfortable house. Janet was a wonderful host. Highly recommend!!

I am sorry that your guests were having difficulty parking their large rental van. Their spot measures 23' L X 10' W. Another space in front of half of the garage for a smaller vehicle, was offered to you and is 40+'L X 8'W. Average parking spots are 8'W and 16'L. Additional parking is offered in the grass beside the hoop house and along the fence line, but it was too soggy to park during that unusually wet weather. I am planning to extend the gravel to the other side of the parking spot to assist with maneuvering and parking larger vehicles. I think Melissa would have liked access to our emails for information and didn't know to look in the booklet by the door for information, like the password. You may want to register future guests too so they will receive all the information ahead of time to prevent any problems. Thank you for sending your group to Meadowoods!
It was exactly what we needed. We were staying with some very good friends. Needed a quite place where we could be together and visit. Very nice place plenty of room for the seven of us.
Second time we've stayed with Janet. She took good care of us and we are happy to have a friend in Granville.

Dear Stephen and Nancy,
It was wonderful to have you and your family here for your vacation. I couldn’t express in words in the review, only by stars, but you’re wonderful guests, even your pup was fine. Thanks for the green beans and popcorn. Both yummy! See you next time.
Your friend,
Janet
Nice home in a secluded setting. I recommend reading the information in the binder in entryway upon arrival. It has a lot of information that will help your stay be smooth and limit questions you might have.
Such a lovely place and caring host. We were two families visiting our kids in town. It was relaxed and easy. We played cards and hung out on the screened patio. The views were so peaceful.

Thank you Erika! I hope the weather will cooperate the next time for some ambling around the farm.
Janet is an amazing host, and the place was wonderful. Very comfy, beds and an overall home me feel. I want to come back and bring my husband. This was supposed to be a girls trip for multi generations of my family, but my great grandson got sick and was careflighted to nationwide children's hospital. It was a great place to come to after being at the hospital after being at the hospital.

Thank you for being such lovely guests! I hope you can return soon and have more time to explore the property and surroundings.
My college friends gathered here to celebrate and to catch up after several years apart. This was the perfect location for us to enjoy, relax, and take in the beautiful countryside of Granville. Everything we needed to make our stay easy and comfortable was available. When our next reunion brings us to Granville this is where we want to stay!

Thank you Erin for such kind words. I’m so glad that you enjoyed your time here. I find it relaxing and invigorating even on “bad” weather days. Please come back, hopefully sooner than later, with all your wonderful friends! Sincerely, Janet
We were visiting Columbus for a conference. This house is older, but everything was functional. Great location near the small town of Granville. The views out the bedroom and living room windows are the best part. Janet was an amazing host and made us feel right at home the whole time. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Thanks Aaron and Sarah! You have a lovely family. I hope you’ll come back. I’ll have more for outside fun by then!
The home was clean and beautiful and the host set has developed a sort of nature presence in on her land with nice plants and trees and birds, squirrels, and chipmunks playing at the kitchen window.

I’m glad you enjoyed my wild friends and neighbors! When guests take time , they see how other species live and may appreciate them more.
Very responsive host for a well-maintained property. Beautiful countryside surrounding the house. There is an outside area with seating as well as a screened in porch, which is helpful in the evenings. Note that the driveway is longer than you think it will be, but worth the drive 🙂

Dear Bill. It was nice of you to return this year. Yes, it’s picturesque. Beautiful views front and back in the middle of 25 acres. Yes, the heating and cooling geothermal loop system is quiet and it works. It’s environmentally friendly but electricity still costs. There are pines lining part of the 1/4 mile drive. A few are low and do brush against trucks over 8’ tall. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I’m having those branches removed after Labor Day. I think you misunderstood about the parking. There is parking in front of the garage, in a separate spot and next to the hoop house which would have accommodated your long truck and trailer. You parked along the fence that was fine. I typically don’t accommodate large trailers or commercial equipment and I usually don’t let people use my water to wash their cars. I did make those exceptions for your group. Thank you for your review although it was less than expected.
The seven of us were in town for my mother's funeral. The home is spacious, comfortable and just what we needed during a tough week. Janet was wonderful to us. By the time we left we now have a friend in Granville, Ohio.
This was an amazing place to spend a few days for a large group.
There were 7 of us and we wanted to find a place we could stay to visit the Columbus zoo and the Wilds. This house is roughly in the middle for both places. Not to mention that we had our own herd of deer that visited us every night for some additional wildlife viewing.
Janet was an excellent host and very responsive to any of our questions and/or needs. We would definately stay here again.
We loved the house. It was very clean!! And very large. We had everything we needed to make tea, meals and relax for a few days in Granville. Janet was so helpful - put out lovely hammocks for us (which we used to watch the fireflies each night) and helped us when we kicked ourselves out (which is hard to do and was totally our fault). The property is lovely. If you like watching birds, chipmunks and other wildlife, you’ll love this house. It is about 6 minutes to Denison University by car and to the village of Granville. Perfect stay for our reunion weekend!

Priscilla, such kind words. I don’t usually hug guests but you were a kindred soul here. You and your guests are welcome back anytime!
We had a wonderful experience at the Meadowoods guest home. Janet was a wonderful host and the house had everything we needed. We booked the home for a group - my husband and I and our kids and my sister and her husband and their 3 kids/teens. We had Easter lunch at the home with everyone - including my daughter in college and her roommates. There were bunnies hopping around outside, there’s a nice bird sanctuary outside the kitchen window - the sunsets over the fields were gorgeous.
There was plenty of room for everyone and having a washer and dryer was very helpful. The beds were comfortable.
Meadowoods truly is a home away from home - nothing fancy - but comfortable and just what we needed for our large group. The proximity to Denison and Granville is excellent.
We’ve stayed at this home before and have plans to be there again in a couple weeks - can’t wait!
Janet is lovely and helpful and made it so easy.

Kristina and Family were lovely guests, considerate and respectful of my requests as seen in VRBO. It was rather sad when they left. I’m so glad they’re coming back! When they return, I hope they’ll have time for the fire pit and grill out back. We’re at the same elevation as Swassey Chapel, so the sunsets are nice.
About the host
Hosted by Janet Worth
As an empty nester, my family of four girls, eight grandchildren, and my siblings and their children's children are my pride and joy. And after 43 years, I'm still helping folks as a speech-language pathologist. I recently added host to my titles. I hope to provide a comfortable rural place for guests to escape the noise of the city and relax for a while. My wish is to be a successful organic farmer and domestic farm animal rescuer as I try to live in harmony with nature. My ultimate goal for the 25+ acre property is to leave it as a farm and open space in perpetuity, gifted and protected by a land trust, never to be divided into 5 housing units or more. The pending 1,000 acre Intel computer chip factory in New Albany will greatly impact this area with increased demands for the already dwindling open spaces in order to develop infrastructure, buildings and housing. I hope through my farm and guest house I will be able to use the revenues to protect this property forever.
Why they chose this property
We came to live on this hill as a family after 9/11/2001. I fell in love with the views. The house was a solid custom-built by the Jerry McClain Company. It has been comfortable ever since and continues to provide great views from every room during the changing seasons. The views of the changing weather, the sun, dark skies and sharing the land with wildlife and birds never gets old.
What makes this property unique
The house is a simple, solid custom built home overlooking the views of rolling agricultural hills less than a mile from Denison and 2 miles from the Village of Granville. Enjoy hiking and viewing birds and wildlife around us. Kids like Wildwood Park, Spring Valley Nature Preserve that are nearby and the goats across the street at the intermediate school.. As soon as you arrive and look around the property and neighboring farms and woods, I hope you will feel the stress fall away. Enjoy a sunrise or the beautiful lingering sunsets. My hill is the same elevation as Swassey Chapel at Denison, so you have quite a view and can see all the little hamlets in the west light up during the Fourth of July week festivities. My goal is to get off the grid and live in harmony with wildlife on my organic farm. Along the north side is the shelter belt of trees and shrubs as well as wildflowers and milkweed plants for monarch butterflies. Shelter belts act as a buffer from conventional, chemical farming and organic produce and hay. There is an eco-friendly geothermal loop system in the back pasture to heat and cool the house. I trickle charge my EV in the garage. I will try to accommodate guests with an EV with a free charge. A solar back up generator is my next project since electricity is still expensive. My ultimate goal is to once again save horses from the slaughter auction as well as to adopt endangered heritage farm animals from the Livestock Conservancy.
