About this property
The Royal Cabin | Private Getaway w/ Hot Tub
Summary:
Discover "The Royal Cabin": A stunning 1789 log cabin reimagined with the addition of 3,300 square feet of total living space. Once one of Front Royal's original log cabin farmhouses, it's been meticulously restored with warmth and craftsmanship.
Step inside to the gathering core of the cabin: a bright, open kitchen and dining area designed for connection. The farmhouse-style kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and serveware for everything from big breakfasts to holiday dinners. Stainless steel appliances, generous counter space, and a large island make it easy to cook together, while bar seating invites company during meal prep. Beside it, the dining area looks out over the yard, where deer and foxes are often spotted at dusk. Just beyond, the Great Room centers around a custom-built mantle and 70” electric fireplace. Enjoy a true theater-like experience with the massive 75” TV for family movie nights, while soft lighting adds a relaxed glow in every season.
The Great Room opens into the preserved 1789 original log cabin, where the hand-hewn timbers still tell the home’s story. Inside, a custom-built game table sets the stage for late-night board games and conversation. A cozy reading loft above offers a quiet spot to sip wine or simply take in the texture of old wood and new design. In cooler months, the propane fireplace keeps this historic part of the home especially warm and inviting.
The Royal Cabin includes six bedrooms arranged across three levels, offering space, privacy, and comfort for families and groups alike:
1. Primary King Suite (Main Level): A spacious retreat with a full ensuite bath, TV, and easy access to the main living areas—ideal for guests who prefer no stairs.
2. Green Room (Second Level – King Bed)
3. Red Room (Second Level – Queen Bed)
4. Blue Room (Second Level – Queen Bed)
5. Second King Suite (Lower Level): Spacious and private, this suite includes its own full ensuite bath, a dedicated workspace, and easy access to the game room/lounge.
6. Twin Room (Lower Level – Two Twin Beds): Designed for kids or friends, this cheerful room sits beside the entertainment space and offers a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
Step out from the Great Room into the wide backyard, where the day’s rhythm slows under open skies. Follow the stone path to the hot tub for a soak beneath the stars, or gather around the propane fire pit for stories and s’mores. The covered porch, complete with hanging chairs and a gas grill, makes it easy to linger after dinner. For friendly competition, you’ll find a full lineup of outdoor games, including bocce ball and Cornhole. Whether it’s laughter around the fire pit or quiet moments on the porch, every corner of The Royal Cabin invites connection, ease, and a sense of belonging.
📍 Local Adventures and Nearby Attractions: The Royal Cabin is perfectly situated to explore the best of Shenandoah’s natural beauty. Just a short drive away, you’ll find scenic hiking trails, peaceful river excursions, and vineyard-lined backroads that define the region’s charm. Enjoy tastings at local favorites like Chester Gap Cellars, Rappahannock Cellars, Crimson Lane Vineyards, and Fox Meadow Winery. After booking, guests receive a detailed digital property guide with even more curated recommendations to help plan your stay.
For dining, head to historic Main Street in Front Royal—about 15 minutes away—for local favorites like Vibrissa Beer & Kitchen and Main Street Mill, or treat yourself to something sweet at C&C Treats. Closer to home, Henry’s Grocery (just five minutes away) is perfect for last-minute essentials or quick grab-and-go items.
Outdoor adventurers can spend the day on the river with Front Royal Outdoors, hike the ridgelines of Shenandoah National Park, or take a leisurely drive along Skyline Drive for breathtaking views and seasonal color. Families will also enjoy nearby attractions such as Skyline Caverns—an easy and memorable outing for all ages.
📕 Property Guide: After booking, guests receive a detailed digital property guide with local recommendations—favorite wineries, restaurants, hiking trails, and attractions—along with helpful tips to make the most of your stay.
🐕 Pet Policy: Up to three dogs are welcome at The Royal Cabin (pet fee applies). Additional dogs may be considered with prior approval. Service animals are always welcome—please let us know in advance so we can inform our cleaning team. Emotional support animals (ESAs) are treated as pets and subject to the same policies and fees.
🚼 Family-Friendly Amenities: Families will find everything needed for an easy stay, including two pack ’n plays, two full-sized freestanding high chairs, and children’s tableware. Extra items may be available with advance notice.
🚗 Vehicle Access and Parking: The property is accessed via a well-maintained gravel road and driveway of about 500 feet. Most vehicles (2WD) reach the cabin without issue, though 4WD or AWD is recommended—and sometimes required—during snow or icy conditions. The driveway accommodates up to five vehicles.
🧯 Safety and Cleanliness: All linens, including quilts and blankets, are freshly laundered between guests. The cabin includes smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and is professionally cleaned and inspected after every stay to ensure a safe, comfortable experience.
🦌 Wildlife and Surroundings : It’s common to see deer, rabbits, and even a pair of local box turtles in the garden beds. While the home is carefully maintained, occasional insects or small critters may appear—just let us know if anything seems out of the ordinary. During warmer months, please drive slowly on nearby roads, as turtles and other wildlife often cross.
🏡 Property Care and Updates : We continually update and invest in The Royal Cabin. Furniture or décor may differ slightly from photos, but quality and style remain constant. During your stay, our landscaping or hot tub care team may service the property as needed—these visits are brief and do not require interior access.
