About Leamington: Leamington is a part of Canada’s Carolinian life zone. The region contains extremely high biodiversity of species, over 500 of which are considered rare. Leamington is famous for its bird season (Spring) to butterfly season (Falls). The entire area is surrounded by excellent flora and fauna. There are many protected areas including Point Pelee National Park, Hillman Marsh, etc.
A few of our guests have occasionally mentioned about bugs around the cottage. We want to assure everyone that we prioritize ecological balance and use natural and/or certified repellents to minimize disturbances to the local ecosystem. We avoid harsh chemicals to control bugs because they play a vital role in maintaining the area's rich ecosystem. As a pet-friendly and kid-friendly cottage, we carefully ensure the safety of our guests and minimize any potential harm from pest control measures.
It is common to encounter bugs around our cottage, yard, trees, as well as in the parks and hiking trails in the area—perhaps more so than in your home area. We kindly ask our guests to be considerate of the natural surroundings and respect the local ecosystem during their stay in Leamington.
Note: Our property is equipped with CCTV cameras. Cameras cover only the entry/exit doors of the cottage and the driveway. The cameras are motion-activated and record video & audio.
BBQ and firepit: We have a propane grill, charcoal grill, and fireplace for outdoor use. Guests MUST BRING their own fuel (propane, charcoal, or firewood). For safety, please ensure grills and the fireplace are moved away from walls or other objects to avoid fire risks.
Wi-Fi - 180mbps.

About the host
Hosted by Sumudu Karunathilake

As a host, I’m passionate about creating memorable experiences for my guests. I have a deep love for nature, hiking, kayaking, and traveling, and I've been fortunate to explore over 20 countries. Whether it's the vibrant energy of big cities, the charm of rural towns and villages, or the tranquility of camping under the stars, I equally enjoy all aspects of travel and adventure. I also love discovering local foods and spending time with family and friends. Hosting allows me to share my love for adventure and my favorite local spots while providing a comfortable, relaxing space for my guests to unwind and enjoy.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because it’s truly a hidden gem. Watching the sunrise over the lake and ending the day with a peaceful sunset is one of the main reasons I fell in love with this location. The yard comes alive with birds in the summer and butterflies in the fall, something I always look forward to. I also enjoy fishing at Hillman Creek. Being close to Point Pelee National Park, wineries, and other local spots adds the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure for me.
