About this property

Lakefront Cabin! Hot tub, woodstove, kayaks, paddle boards. King bed! Sleeps 6.

Adorable, cozy cabin sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, perfectly positioned to catch the BEST sunsets on peaceful Blodgett Lake.

Enjoy the expansive, multi-level deck overlooking the lake with built-in seating, entertaining spaces, & spacious yard. Take the kayaks or stand up paddleboards out for a cruise around the lake, then enjoy a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Build a fire in the cozy woodstove (cabin has a forced air furnace for heat, the woodstove is just a bonus heat source/feature!), cuddle up to catch a movie on the WiFi TV. One bedroom has a King Bed, the other has 2 Queens. Guests love our new, extremely comfortable memory foam mattresses!

From complimentary coffee and tea and a well-equipped kitchen, to essential amenities for the shower, we've included everything you need for an easy, breezy stay. Tuck your feet up and settle in for a relaxing getaway!

Go jump in the lake - we offer multiple kayaks and paddleboards for guest use at no additional charge. Life jackets for all sizes are available and encouraged. Our lake allows motors up to 10HP. Fish, swim, paddle, or wade in the summer, and ice skate or snow shoe in the winter. Snow machines are permitted in the winter months, and ATVs are welcome in the area.

After your busy day of relaxing and enjoying lake views, spend some time in the hot tub under the stars (available year-round!) or, if you're lucky, catch the dancing beauty of the northern lights.

Expect wildlife viewing and interaction! A trumpeter swan family calls our lake home, along with lots of ducks, geese, loons, and the occasional moose may wander through. Bears are not common, but we always encourage visitors to be prepared for wildlife encounters!

And while our cabin is tucked away and feels like a sweet retreat, groceries, coffee, gasoline, and even pizza delivery are all nearby. If you're inclined to stay in touch with the office or the outside world, you'll appreciate the high speed WiFi.

Need more space, or traveling with a larger group? Please consider booking one or more of our spaces, and contact me if you have any questions! All of our listings (currently we have 6!) can be found under my profile, or by searching Switzer Suites.

Great Place with a Central Location
If visiting South Central Alaska, I highly recommend this lakefront cabin. We rented in late March and the location was super central for all of the winter activities that we wanted to do from dog mushing in Talkeetna, ice fishing in Palmer, and snowmobiling in Hatcher's Pass/Willow. And after being in the cold all day, having a wood burning stove and hot tub to warm up in was very nice. This was just outside of Wasilla which helped avoid some of the traffic we experienced driving within Wasilla. There was a grocery store about 5 minutes away and 3 others including a Walmart within about 15-20 minutes. While visiting we saw at least one Bald Eagle every day and 2 most days. There were also plenty of magpies, ducks and even a couple of swans to keep us entertained. The only slightly negative thing I would say about this property was that the neighbors were pretty close next door, but we didn't have any issues with that whatsoever.

Gorgeous and relaxing
The views are priceless! the hot tub came in handy after hiking and four wheeling all day. The kayaks kept the teen busy when mom and dad wanted to relax and unwind. Everything you need and some things you didn’t think you would need. Instructions are clear, and welcoming. Really enjoyed the wood burning stove. Very generous with wood and fire starters. Had an amazing time.

Alaska July 2023
Our stay at the cabin was great. It had everything we needed. We relaxed in the hot tub after using the paddle boards. The patio area overlooking the lake is so relaxing and a perfect way to wind down after a long day. We had a question for Shanna, the host, and got an answer right away. Overall great experience!
