Absolutely perfect weekend getaway! Quiet neighborhood, cute cabin, and serene water is exactly what we were looking for and we are hopeful to spend more weekends here in the future.
Had a great stay in Luna Pier. It provided an excellent space for us to have our 3-year-old son's birthday party with our family. And enjoy the views of the lake. The openness and space downstairs gave us a great spot to hang out during some of the afternoon. Thunderstorms. And the large deck outside by the lake gave us an excellent spot to sing Happy Birthday and open presents.
The cabin was nice and cozy, with the perfect indoor and outdoor spaces for our girls' getaway. Our trip ended up falling on one of the hottest days of summer and the window units did an amazing job of keeping the indoor space comfortable.
The location was amazing! You just can't beat those Lake Erie sunrises with a cup of good coffee. The sunsets with a glass of wine are pretty wonderful too! The location is exactly as pictured. The cabin is somewhat rustic and the bedrooms don't have a lot of privacy, but the beds were clean and comfortable and one bedroom has that amazing view. We slept with the windows open all evening and got a fantastic breeze. The neighbors are nice and quiet. Even though we went to bed pretty early and had our windows open they didn't bother us at all.The bathrooms are downstairs and it is a log cabin so the stairs are a little rustic too. My 6'3" husband had to duck down in a couple of places to come down the stairs and go into the bathroom. Also the shower was great for me, but a little low for him. He was still able to use it.Luna Pier, at least when we went after Labor Day, is a little sleepy town. We found it very charming and friendly. The pier is nice and the beach was good too. We enjoyed eating at Gander's Restaurant (Ma & Pa) and Chateau Louise (decent steak and a little live music). We played golf at Monroe Country Club and went to the River Raisin historical center in Monroe. It was really interesting with information from the war of 1812. We also went to Sterling State Park and walked their beach and walked their trails. We had a wonderful time! Monroe is about ten miles away and so is Toledo, if you want a casino, etc.
Mike was very accommodating and responsive. This place was amazing for a weekend stay. Amazing views right out the back door. Very nice, quiet and safe place to stay! The neighbors are very close but everyone kept to themselves. I will absolutely be staying here again.
Was a great location and very clean! Beds were comfy. Neighbors were not welcoming but didn’t bother us either. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the lake! Parking would be a little challenging if you have bigger vehicles.
Authentic 100yr old rustic cabin. Cozy 2 upper bedrooms. Fireplace main room, sun room and Stunner lakeview. Amazing sunrise vista.
Very helpful & accessible manager
Family wants to return.
Had aa great weekend. As long as you understand that this is an older dwelling you won't be disappointed.. The deck is about 8 foot of the water so bring a long net if plan on fishing (we caught some really nice catfish and white bass). Luna Pier beach was great, there is a little take out about a block away that we ordered from and ate on the beach. Erie Pizza is about a 10 minute drive and Ganders has a great menu also. We plan on doing it all again
The location is right on the lake, very beautiful views. The house is spacious and historical. I was disappointed that there wasn’t any central air, but that was my fault for not checking and the house did have a couple of window units which work very well! There was some dust issues but overall the house was clean. The host was extremely responsive and nice. He even provides a bottle of wine and lots of candy! My kids aged 2, 2, and 3 were safe and had lots of fun.
The 100 year old cabin has been renovated well and still maintains a rustic charm. The air conditioning is via window units which are adequate. The little town is charming and will meet all of your needs. Neighbors are close but friendly enough. It absolutely MUST be mentioned that approximately half of the community is against rental properties like another company or Vrbo with prominent yard and window signs with clever slogans.
Mike was incredibly accommodating to my crew on short notice and I appreciate that greatly because I may have had to cancel my trip otherwise within a timeframe I was due zero refund.
Bottom line: it’s a great place to stay with a fantastic host, but you may find yourself caught up in politics you were unaware of prior to your arrival.
