About this property
Secluded home on top of Rich Mtn w/ long range million dollar view, Brevard NC.
The Mountain Oasis home is new to VRBO in 2022. Built in 2017, it has been extremely well cared for. On the main level, you will find three bedrooms and 2 full baths, the kitchen, a cozy living room, and a laundry area. Upstairs, all of the wood trim, doors and some incredible wall decor (see picture for bedroom #2) came from the trees harvested from the clearing of the property. Downstairs there is a nice rec room, complete with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, large TV, and game table, (pool, ping pong or air hockey), a bedroom with double bed bunk beds, and a 1/2 bath.
The 2.5 acres of the property is surrounded by over 200 acres of preserved forest. We are very secluded with only one neighbor that is not very visible at all. At an elevation of 3500 feet, the mountain oasis faces West/Northwest providing beautiful sunsets in the evening and fabulous cloud lake effects in the morning (see photos), providing truly million-dollar views. The stars and the moon at night are phenomenal.
Outside on the lower level there is a large firepit and grassy area. Firewood is there for you to purchase but you need to bring your own lighter fluid or starter logs. ( Free kindling is provided.)
There is also a great flat large grassy area for you to enjoy the provided bean bag toss, bocce ball (provided) or Simon says etc.
On the upper level outside life is enjoyed on a very large deck, a wrought iron table, and 4 pollywood gliders with gliding foot stools, and some plastic Adirondak chairs, and a brand new (2025) gas grill. (Hoping the bears will stay away from it this time. They only came to the grill one time in 2 years.)
Located on Rich Mountain overlooking the quaint town of Brevard NC this immaculate home truly has million-dollar views. Location, location, location! Nearby are the towns of Brevard and Hendersonville, the Cedar Mountain community, Dupont State Park, Pisgah National Forest, Holmes Educational State Forest, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Fred Symmes Chapel (Pretty Place.) For a short drive you can reach, Gorges State Park, Lake Keowee and Lake Joscasee. There is something for everyone, outdoor adventures of fishing, hiking to waterfalls and through the woods, biking the mountain trails, kayaking or tubing the lazy French Broad River, tubing the Lazy Davidson River or the more adventurous Green River, horseback riding or indoor activities such as shopping and visiting breweries and wineries! Sherwood public golf course, par 3 eighteen hole, is only 6 miles away. Or of course, you can just sit on the deck and look at the mountains and watch the weather come in! Mountain Oasis is managed by a local couple who would love to sit down with you and give you all the information on hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking and tubing in the area. They have put together a guidebook with specifics for you in the Mountain Oasis.
Brevard, located in the county of Transylvania, is known as the 'land of the waterfalls' for its outdoor amenities such as mountain biking, kayaking, tubing and hiking to waterfalls; Brevard is a quaint small town with many great shops and dining opportunities on main street. The Oscar Blues brewery and the Ecusta Brewery are close. Hendersonville has the St. Paul Winery, Burt Shirt Winery and others. Tours of the Seirra Nevada Brewery are also available in the nearby town of Mills River. There are more thrift shops than can be listed. If you want more of a big city feel, Asheville is an easy drive. There is something at Mountain Oasis for everyone. You'll love it!
Both Dupont State Park and Pisgah Forest National Park are very close. Dupont's trail heads (Fawn Lake, Cornmill Shoals) are within 5 miles and the other three ( High Falls, Lake Imaging, and Guion) are within an 8 mile drive. (Fawn lake is great for swimming.) These state park sites are known for their wonderful trails and waterfalls. Some lazy tubing is enjoyed on the Davidson River in the Pisgah Forest. One can get on a bike and ride on Rich Mountain Road for 2 miles and be on a Dupont trail.
There is drone footage on YouTube showing the Oasis and surrounding forests. Just type in Mountain Oasis, Brevard NC and it will come up. It's only one minute long.

Upper level parking is plentiful and is fine for all vehicles. The lower level parking is for 4 wheel drive vehicles only. )
