About this property

Historic Octagon-Shaped Cottage Overlooking Port Clyde Harbor

This very unique cottage--the original "tea house" of the historic Wawenok hotel--is privately situated on a hillock overlooking picturesque Port Clyde harbor. From this quiet perch you can relax watching the workings of this traditional harbor, or take a short stroll into the quaint village center.

The cottage features a beautiful central open living/dining/kitchen space (with a spectacular open ceiling and pull-out sofa bed), a comfortable and private bedroom, a newly updated bathroom, a back 'mudroom' for boots and jackets, and an amazing front porch with the best views in town. Grill and private parking on site.

Port Clyde has tons to offer including a wonderful small beach, a great coffee shop and restaurant, and the historic lighthouse featured in the "Forest Gump" movie: all of which are a walking distance from the Octagon. You can also rent a kayak, fish from the public docks for mackerel or squid, or catch the ferry for a day trip out to famous Mohegan Island. A boat ramp is available if you have one in tow.

Octagon Tea House!
This was a wonderful place for a week's vacation for a couple. The house is small but very comfortable and has everything you could need and a great location - views of the harbor and an easy walk into town. We hope to be able to come back nest year.

Maine fix!
The cottage is close to great general store, restaurant and has wonderful harbor views. Views would be better with bush trimming.😀
