Sea Sparkle: Sunny Village Cottage With Artist Studio And Panoramic Ocean Views
Panoramic saltwater vistas from every room in this little 2-bedroom home on a winding harbor road. Also, an attached artist shed. Formerly the home of Gertrude Cook, her kitchen work area has been preserved in tact including spatter painted linoleum floor. The aroma of many a pie wafted from Gertrude's oven over the cove where her son, Blaine, operated a lobster buying wharf. Her attic has been constructed into an idyllic queen bedroom, new bath, and connecting studio with ocean views. Downstairs there's a cozy bedroom off the living room, with full size bed, desk, bureau and closet. The downstairs bath features tiled floor and an exhilarating rainbow shower. Relax with friends in the living room and farm style kitchen which adjoin with sunshiny warmth and welcoming atmosphere. Wall TV in the living room for times when you are not outside walking this seaside road to the village, about a 7-minute stroll, or sketching at the working lobster wharfs minutes away in the other direction.

this was our stay at this beautiful, comfortable, well maintained house. we enjoy walking out for coffee, getting seafood at the local fisherman's coop and walking out to the lighthouse
Beautiful location, walk to wharf to buy lobsters and many birds (ospreys, eagles, kingfishers and many others). You can watch the lobster boats come in. Kitchen was well equipped. Upstairs bedroom is gorgeous. Only downside were the beds were sagging. Easy check in!!
Sea Sparkle was lovely, well maintained and a beautiful property. Last year we stayed at a nearby property with the same owner and same manager and also had a similar great experience. The LL Bean linens, towels and rugs were superior. The weather was warm this trip so the three high quality fans that were provided with the house were much appreciated. The large picture windows in the kitchen and the primary bedroom were gorgeous and faced the water. This time we stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the beautiful views and the nearby walkable village of Port Clyde with its General Store, Squid Ink Coffee, The Red Barn, The Dip Net, Monhegan Boat Line and Village Ice Cream. The Marshall Point Lighthouse was also a short drive away.
Great location for a stay in Port Clyde with our family. Walking distance to town and the views from the property are fantastic. We had everything we needed at the property and then some. We will be staying here again!
I have vacationed in Port Clyde since I was an infant and I love sharing my happy place with my grandchildren...they have all fallen in love with this delightful fishing village and are always asking when they can go back!!
We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the cottage. The house was so clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. There is very little traffic on the road and the view of sunrises and sunsets was amazing. We enjoyed the quiet. If you like stargazing, the outdoor seating is perfect for taking in the Milky Way. It is easy to walk to town for a meal or supplies. Nearby are many hiking trails and other places to visit. I would go again.

It was outstanding.
It is nicely appointed, very clean and neat, a great location and very comfortable. If only we had nicer weather. Second time renting and we will be back next summer.
We had an absolutely amazing time stargazing, beach-going, and lobster-eating.
The cottage is charming and very well-appointed. It is quintessential Mid-Coast Maine. Perfect!
We will rent this cozy home again.
This is our third time staying in Port Clyde. It's a small quaint, peaceful community. I love walking to the general store and taking in the beautiful views. The rental was super cute and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay while still having a vintage, old fashioned decorative items from days past.
This property was perfect for us this past week. Clean and neat with spectacular views from every room. It was everything and more then what was described on the web site. We will be back!
We have often stayed here and love it. Home is beautifully appointed with decor and appliances. Gorgeous flower boxes and manicured lawn. First class and that’s why we keep coming back. Veronica, the manager, is very helpful and attentive.
The views from this spot are breathtaking, it never gets old. The home was comfortable and appreciated the supplies on hand; soaps, seasonings, paper towels etc. helps to eliminate too much to pack. The neighborhood is quiet and a great place to walk and close to downtown port Clyde. We appreciated the excellent communication with the property manager as well.
We stayed at the Gardenwalk Crest property - last minute change proposed by Veronika because of a problem at the Sea Sparkle property. We loved the location of this house, right in front of the fishing harbor of Port Clyde. Views from the deck and from inside the house, as well, are wonderful. The house is very comfortable, with everything that you need. Veronika is very efficient and available, we got all informations very easily.
My daughter and I literally cried because we had to leave. We extended our already booked 2 week stay to 3. I knew when we arrived we’d want more time there.
Veronika is on her game.
They provide all that you need for your stay including linens, toilet paper, paper towels, soaps and kitchen items.
The kitchen decor brought back so many childhood memories.
The house is situated on a gorgeous inlet. Herons, and eagles were frequently spotted there.
There’s a walkable beach where every day a herd of seals feed and play.
You can watch the active harbor with the lobstermen coming and going and appreciate the long hours they put in.
Amazing all around.
The house is very quaint. Generally the home was clean, updated and decorated nicely. Unfortunately the kitchen area could use an upgrade. The pots and pans were barely usable. Very scratched and unclean on the inside. It was surprising to not see a dish washer. Additionally the water pump broke down in the middle of the stay which also caused an issue with the electric. We were without water and had partial electric for one evening. The management Co offered to relocate us but we picked this location because my family had rented the house next door. I suppose the chance you take when renting an older home. They were quick to make the repair which we appreciate but it did cause an inconvenience for the next day regarding showers etc.
Generally though this was our third trip to Maine. It is a beautiful State and the area we were in was very nice.
We will definately return.
I work a lot of hours for work and was looking for a very relaxing vacation, and this hit the spot. It was very comfortable for relaxing with a great view. Family members visited on Sunday and Monday. Great visits.
