The Beach House -- 3 Bedrooms, sleeps 9, 2 baths, low bluff - AWESOME BEACH!!!
About Cynthia Koch
We started renting properties in South Haven when our oldest was five years old. As time went on, it became more and more difficult to find properties with good beach access. Then this property became available....and we snapped it up! We are happy to share our cottage with you and welcome you to South Haven!
Cynthia Koch purchased this House in 2010
Why Cynthia Koch chose South Haven
The house is a piece of South Haven history with modern conveniences. Dating from a time when families traveled by ship from Chicago to the sandy shores of western Michigan, this house displays the Arts and Crafts style of 1910 when it was built. The porch overlooks the amazing lake Michigan -- a view that has been enjoyed from this location for a century!
What makes this House unique
Open the french doors and the lake and shoreline become part of the house. The waves lap against the shore all day long and lull us to sleep at night.

Most Wonderful View!!!
We loved cooking out looking over the lake! Spent a lot of time on back porch! Didn’t want to leave the lake looked beautiful the day we left :(. The stake came out on my 15yr old on the way to beach but I put it back in after we walked around to get back to the house. We had a compliment from someone staying next door that we had one of the best views and we did good picking it out. Thanks for sharing your lake house with Us!!
There is no better view. Especially when the sun sets. Thanks so much for writing!
this was an absolute little gem of a house. Upon arrival walking through the gate we fell in love. Getting down to the beach was a challenge but one we soon figured out as to not pass up the nice weather we did have. Even during the rain the house provided a zen of relaxation on the back deck laughing and relaxing with friends.
Awwww. That’s a lovely description. I get excited every time we arrive and I spy the blue lake out the back.
We loved this house and our stay!
Easy to rent, easy to get in. Loved this house and hope to come back.
Thank you! Maintaining the original character has been a labor of love!
Great locale and bargain for a beach getaway.
Thank you for writing! We love the beach!
South Haven and Lake Michigan
External appearance of property was different than was presented online. The house is 100 yrs old so common area of house were quite small compared to current standards, especially dining and living rooms. The view was spectacular so was able to overcome initial concerns.
South Haven Lake House
Our family really enjoyed the Lake House. Though the house is old, it was equipped with modern amenities like high speed Internet and cable. Incredible sunsets viewable from the covered porch or backyard patio. We loved the quiet time and playing ‘old fashioned’ board games and puzzles. We had limited sun, but found time to enjoy outdoor games that were available in the shed—bean bag toss and badminton.
The weather did not cooperate as well as it might have this past Memorial Day Weekend. We keep lots of games and puzzles and books just in case Mother Nature doesn’t take a vacation when you do. But it sounds like you got to enjoy the lake and sunsets and time together. Thanks for writing! We would love to have you back for some beach time!
