About this property

Huge home, perfect for big families & large groups

Need space for the whole gang? You'll have it and then some in this 5000 sq ft historic home near the center of San Antonio. As a recent guest said in a review, "It's like a boutique hotel but all for you."

Perfect for wedding parties, graduations or other group gatherings for friends or family.

Please read the full description to learn all about our amazing property.

NOTE: Per local and Airbnb rules and, more importantly, out of respect for our neighbors, we don't allow parties or events.

You will have five completely self-contained one-bedroom suites, each with a kitchen, living room, bathroom and washer/dryer. And there are two additional bedrooms with en suite baths. That's seven full bedrooms -- with real beds -- and seven full bathrooms. And we can provide additional rollaways if needed.

You will have a huge kitchen (with a restaurant-style 12-burner stove and double oven), large dining room and huge living room with a baby grand piano. And if you're still feelking crowded, there are two additional common spaces to hang out or shoot pool.

There are rocking chairs on the front porch and a baloncy deck in the back where you can enjoy your morning coffee.

You will have exclusive access to the entire home throughout your stay.

We live nearby and can be available to guests upon request.

The name Westfort is a modern nickname for the neighborhood, related to its location at the western edge of Fort Sam Houston.

The neighborhood attracted prominent residents in the 1910s. Homes for C.T. Boelhauwe, local architect, Frank Scobey, director of the US Mint, and Gutzon Borglum, nationally renowned sculptor, were all located on nearby Brahan Blvd. The neighborhood later transitioned to predominantly rentals for military personnel stationed at Fort Sam Houston and their families.

The architectural styles represented in the Westfort Historic District vary from Prairie Style and Craftsman to Mission Revival and Spanish Eclectic. The eclectic collection reflects the development of the neighborhood over many decades.

The house has a long driveway where guests may park. There is also ample street parking.

There are a few peculiarities with this lovely old house. The kitchen is huge but old so it doesn't have a dishwasher. You can wash by hand during your stay or leave rinsed dishes in a provided tub and we'll take care of them after you leave.
We do not allow parties. Violation may result in loss of security deposit and cancelation of reservation.

Amazing Home!
What a unique home with all the bedrooms with their own bathrooms, sitting areas and kitchenettes. So much room for large groups such as ours. Plenty of space for everyone to sit and visit! The outdoor space was incredible too. Our family reunion was a great success! We even availed ourselves to the piano and guitars that were there. Having a sing along on Saturday night. It was most memorable! Thank you!!

Great place to stay for larger groups!
We really enjoyed our stay in this very large home. 5 of the room were full suites with living rooms, mini kitchens, dining rooms, and full baths (4 of the rooms had their own washer and dryers too). We were within walking distance of some decent food spots and a short drive to downtown San Antonio! Our host was the best and we would certainly stay here again for sure!

Hi, I'm Jack. My wife Jessica and I love traveling and have stayed at some amazing properties around the world. We often like to travel with friends or family, and have found there are far fewer offerings for large groups in a single property. When this house came on the market a few years back, we knew if would be the perfect location for vacation rental that catered to groups. We take great pride in the work we've done to the house but we are constantly making improvements and love to hear ideas from the guests who stay with us.

Why they chose this property

This house was built as a single-family home in 1907 and converted to a boarding house during World War II to house officers stationed at nearby Fort Sam Houston. In fact, the name of the neighborhood, Westfort, is based on its location at the western edge of Fort Sam.

The neighborhood is just next to the site of the former Peal Brewery -- now called "The Pearl" -- which today is the one of the most vibrant and fastest growing parts of San Antonio.
