Just an okay stay
The house had both good and bad things about it. We travelled with a party of 9 - 7 adults and 2 children. There was plenty of room to sleep. The add on loft has a moisture issue resulting in an unpleasant smell but we needed that space so we just dealt with it. There was not enough eating spaces for our group even though the description stated there was outdoor dining for 14. Two of the chairs were missing from a table of 4 and the other two had broken webbing on the seats. We tried to use the small table for the kids to eat on but it was broken. The biggest issue for us was our check in process. My contract stated 4pm check in. We arrived from Arkansas at 3:50 with an 89 year old who desperately needed to get out of the car. We were sent an access code at this time we attempted to enter. There was a cleaning woman who tried to prevent us from coming in at 4pm saying the house was not available until 5pm. I texted the owner about it who responded that we were not to enter the home until 5pm and not to block the cleaning lady in the driveway. When i responded about our contract stating 4pm (several hours later) he responded that it was a "miscommunication" that we signed our contract when his policy was still 4pm check in. No apology for his abruptness... no apology that the house was not ready per our contract or for the uncomfortness between our family and the cleaning lady. Not a great way to begin a stay. He was quickly responsive when when a fuse blew.
