Short visit
This property was more than expected! This is the third VRBO home i have stayed in, and the most pleasant. Marnie was readily available when i contacted her. The house was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need to prepare food. The teens appreciated the snacks. Definitely recommend this home, and would return if returning to the DFW area!

Absolutely excellent
We stayed here for the total solar eclipse. The house was beautifully decorated and full of little extras, like the coffee bar. Marnie is so responsive to messages. This is one of the best, if not the best, houses we have ever stayed in on vacation. Highly recommend!

Family Visit
Property was as described. Kitchen had all kinds of appliances, pots and pans, Keurig and regular coffee pot, and lots dishes, which was good for us as there there were 9 adults. Bathrooms were clean and lots of towels. Communication with owner was excellent. We locked ourselves out by also locking the bottom lock at front door and the owner was so gracious and came right over to bail us out. We would definitely stay there again.

Dallas family trip
We loved our stay at Marble House. It was very clean. The coffee bar and snacks that were provided were much appreciated! The rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The host even went out and purchased a highchair for us because she knew that we would need one. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Wonderful Place to Enjoy with Our Family!!
The house was immaculately clean. There were lots of kind surprises like coffee filters, Keurig pods and breakfast bars. All of these were very appreciated after having gotten in late. We very much enjoyed our stay. We will be back!!

About the host

Host profile image
I am a single mother of two who decided to become involved in rental properties back in 2010. My life revolves around my family and friends. As I have gotten older, I have realized what is important in my world so my family comes first. I love being a host because I am a people person and do enjoy making people's lives just a little easier.

Why they chose this property

The story about how I came into possession of this illustrious house is a fairy tale. It began in 2018 when I was renovating a home one block over from the Marble house. Naomi and Garrie were the owners of the Marble house and had lived in the house since 1981. She was also an avid walker and would walk around the neighborhood each day for exercise. Every now and then she would stop at the house I was renovating on Jefferson street and admire the work I was doing. The house on Jefferson was riddled with termites and was beginning to fall apart at the foundation but I took it on as a project of love and wanted to make the house livable again. Naomi and her husband had to go live with a daughter in Missouri after Garrie took a tumble from his bike.. Before placing the Marble house on the market, she told my realtor she wanted me to have the house because of the TLC I had poured into the Jefferson house. I was ecstatic and felt very blessed that Naomi and Garrie entrusted me with the care of their home on Marble street. And that is how the house fell into my hands in 2020.

What makes this property unique

The house was once known as the "tar paper house" in the 1940's. I think the home has character and charm and one can tell when parts of the house were added over time. The second story was added in the 1960's or 1970's. Carpet, central heat & air, and the bathroom were added in the 1980's. I did not change the bones of the house at all. I just updated the electrical, plumbing, ducting, cabinets and hardware and all the sheetrock and ceiling tiles. My next big project is to remove the outside garage and add a beautiful deck on which to grill and chill out.
