About this property

This property is at the very end of a private, rugged dirt road, and feels secluded with no other homes in sight. It sits on a lush, 6 acre property that is shared by a few other residents who tend the gardens.

This is my personal home, and is available on a limited basis. My home is a place to retreat, relax, and rebuild. A place to lose yourself and find yourself. If you just need a place to crash that’s fine, but the space has something deeper to offer for those who seek to find.

Stepping Away from Society

When we were planning our original trip to Santa Fe it was for a concert that ended up being canceled. Heartbroken by this we were worried the trip would be ruined. Then we made it to the property and instantly we were transported to peace and quiet. With the natural light in the day time and the cool winds from the open windows at night we were able to enjoy this rustic and bohemian lifestyle. Secluded in this wonderful place we were able to really enjoy being away from the busy world but if we wanted to head to one of the many great shops or sites it was only a short 20 minute scenic drive! The hosts were very quick to respond and offer any assistance! We recommend that if you are on the fence about staying here…stop it and just go for it! You will not regret this stay!!

Organic, Spiritual, and Quirky Refuge

My family made great memories in this house that has a very organic and spiritual feel to it's open concept floor plan. It isn't quite an "earthship" design but it definitely has that type of vibe with lots of natural light and plants growing in most rooms. Quirky would be another adjective that fits this property because it doesn't function like most other places. For example: the front door consists of a set of narrow double doors. Yes, most people can skinny in one side of the double doors. I am a bit stout, so I had to steer my ship carefully and just opened the other side of the doors when carrying in loads of baggage. Another observation, two of the three bedrooms have doorways to the common space in the house and locking doors to the outside and no built in closets while the third bedroom has a wall of windows to the front of the house but no separate exterior entrance and a closet built as an afterthought. The thing about that room that my son, Seth (21) utilized for his arsenal of teasing gigs for my daughter, Joy (who celebrated her 18th Birthday here and stayed in that front bedroom) is that it had a hook and loop lock at the top of the door on the outside of the doorway so that someone could be locked in that room from the common area side! We really enjoyed sun light by day and firelight by night. We quickly went through the little bit of firewood that was near the stove and needed to forage and buy more.
