This intimate, comfortable cottage is pristine and crisp and begs for you to relax. It is a second home - all you need to pack are your personal items.It has a beautiful lagoon and sunset view from the screened porch and deck. The deck has been expanded to provide room to enjoy the long lagoon view. There is a table suitable for dining on the screened in porch. The deck with the lagoon view was enlarged in Jan, 2014, The cottage was modified when it was built to offer an extra wall of windows which brings the lovely tropical setting even closer to our guest. There is patio furniture and a gas grill which are great for chilling out after a day on the beach. The lagoon attracts some interesting birds and wildlife - a haven for admiring nature. The beach is about a 7 minute walk from the cottage. On route to the beach is a pool which guests of the Greenslake Cottages have access to with no charge. This upscale cottage was completely remodeled in 2006- hardwood floors, granite counters,etc. The open den and dining room combination provide a panoramic view of the lagoon through the sliding glass doors and windows. Equipped with wifi , color hi def TV's with DVR, DVD, and stereo/CD in the den. The well equipped kitchen has been enlarged with a dine on bar and has ample space for a gourmet chef to do their magic.
Ceiling fans are in the den, and each bedroom to provide added cooling along with the central HVAC after a day on the beach. Solar tubes bring extra light into the baths and kitchen area.

The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed with a shutter head board . The mattress just begs you to sleep late. There is an en suite bath with large tiled walk in shower off of the master. On a built in armoire sits a 32" TV in the master bedroom. A sliding door offers light and a lagoon view.

The restful guest bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a bath with tub + shower. There is a 20'" flat-screen TV in this bedroom . Plantation shutters in this bedroom enhance the cottage atmosphere.

The cottage has central air and heat and has plantation ceiling fans in both bedrooms in addition to the screen porch and den.

The cottage is in the West Beach area at the end of a cul de sac, which provides privacy and access to twenty miles of bike paths with one leading to Freshfields Village for shopping and ( ice cream ). It has a canopy of a beautiful live oak tree that frames the cottage entrance. The Cougar Point Golf Course is just a few minutes walk as is the lovely 10 mile hard packed sand beach.

Amenities:
Fully furnished enlarged gourmet kitchen with ceramic top stove, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and toaster oven, pantry to store groceries, refrigerator with ice maker.
Full size washer and dryer. Thorough cleaning between guests help provide safety to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. We ask our guest to let us know if they have been exposted to a contagious diseases within 2 weeks of their visit. If there has been exposure , we request they cancel their reservation and they will receive a full refund.

3 cable hi def TVs, DVR and DVD, stereo, , CD player. The bedrooms have radio alarm clocks.

All linens/towels and beach towels are provided along with 2 beach chairs and a large beach umbrella and a beach buggy to transport personal items to the beach. This cottage was not furnished with young children in mind. We require that the guest who is renting this cottage be a minimun of 25 yrs. old.

We live in Charleston close to Kiawah and are nearby in case our guest have needs. We are also able to keep our cottage in pristine condition to be sure our guest feel the wonderful...vacation feeling. This cottage is managed and booked by the owner.

We loved the property. We have stayed at a number of Greenslake Cottages over the years and this one definitely had the best lagoon view. The bird feeder attracted tons of birds and we had a couple of small alligators swim by. The cottage was very clean and very well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Very easy to work with owners. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Perfect Vacation Spot

We have been to Kiawah many times and have stayed in several lovely townhomes and cottages, though never the same one twice - until now! Relaxing vacation

This property had everything we needed for our stay and was very clean. Location is great- quick walk to the pool or beach and easy to get to Freshfields Village for dinner or shopping. Nature’s Cottage

This cottage was great for 2 couples. It was very comfortable and had everything that you might need. Short walk to a beautiful Kiawah beach. We saw a variety of birds and an alligator floated by a couple of times. We would definitely stay here again.

Serene getaway!

Beautiful home overlooking one of the ponds on Kiawah with screened porch and deck to see all the wildlife. Tucked away, so it's very peaceful but also a short walk or ride to the beach. Bring your bikes! Great trails all over the island.

Great Kiawah getaway

Our stay at the cottage was just the quiet, peaceful and relaxing vacation that we were looking for. We spent hours on the back deck enjoying the birds and other wildlife in and around the lagoon, which is located just off the screened-in porch and deck. Virtually everything you need for a relaxing vacation is there — including beach chairs, umbrella and beach cart. Communication with the hosts was great and we were able to walk and bike easily to the beach and around the island.

We wanted to thank the owners for sharing such a wonderful cottage with us. It was so relaxing watching the wildlife. We actually got to see 3 different alligators(one very large!) from the back deck. We could not have asked for anything more. I would highly recommend staying here. Cant wait to go back.

Lovely, has everything you'd need.

Ann and Hollis make this cottage a wonderful vacation spot. We stayed last July 4th and had a wonderful time. The owners take pride in maintaining their property as well as a high-end hotel. A Wonderful Getaway

This was our first getaway in two years, and it was worth the wait. The Garris’ were gracious hosts and their cottage is comfortable and well appointed. We spent much of our trip lounging on the deck and screened in porch, watching the activity and fishing in the lagoon. Our boys had a blast and we made memories that will last a lifetime. We are eager to return and hope to be able to very soon.

Wonderful stay!

This house was a wonderful place to stay! Everything we needed was available and we felt very comfortable in our surroundings. The owners were a real pleasure to deal with, we couldn't have asked for more. Lots of wildlife and a great location by the lagoon and the beach a short walk away. We loved Freshfields Village, lots of food choices. The drive to Charleston is pleasant and doesn't take long at all. I would love to stay here again in the future, wonderful place for a nice relaxing and peaceful vacation. Definitely 5 Stars!!!!

Kiawah is very special and being close to Charleston - only 21 miles - makes it a perfect choice. Beach in the mornings and great history and restarants in the evening at Charleston. Having the little village of Freshfields so close to Kiawah with a wonderful specialty shopes and a upscale grocery store makes life even better- not to mention the great entertainment that Freshfields offers. Hollis sells real estate on the island (843 860 1845) and Ann is a retired nurse now a private walking tour guide (843 224 7817 ) in Charleston , SC. We love to share the local secrets with our guest and are close by should you need something. As we live only 30 minutes away in Charleston , we personally manage our cottage with a hands on approach. We strive to have it perfect for our guest as vacations are so important to us all.

Love the quietness of this area and the close proximity to the beach. Being in the West beach makes a trip into Charleston a much shorter adventure. We are an end cottage in a cul de sac and have a wonderful open view of the lagoon. It is perfect in every way for the guest who is here to enjoy nature, the beach , or an afternoon in Charleston or maybe short bike ride to the grocery or many shops at the "quaint" Freshfield Village . The quietness of our area allows our guest to listen to the birds and relax - even if here for just for a short while.
