Holiday beach stay

Andrea’s home was the perfect place for my family to enjoy Christmas together. The pictures and description in the listing are very accurate. Although walking into the house for the first time was even better! The house is open and bright, and feels brand new. The kitchen was very well equipped for whatever we were cooking. The beds were all very comfortable with beautiful sheets and pillows. The location was also perfect! Beautiful views of the beach and the nearby marsh. The weather was great for daily beach walks with our grandchildren. There were also many extras, such as toys for the little ones and games for the adults, a beautiful gas fireplace that was perfect for Christmas, Andrea left us delicious coffee, tea, hot cocoa and some Christmas goodies! Although check in was sent to us prior to check in, Andrea’s sister greeted us upon arrival and gave us some more information about the house and reminded us to contact Andrea if we had any questions or concerns. We were so happy celebrating Christmas together in that beautiful home!

Our grandfather purchased our cottage after the flood of 1955. The beach was a total disaster. Several cottages had actually been washed into the Ct Sound as well as remnants of cottages, furniture, toilets, telephone booths and much more.
My father and grandfather immediately begin to clean up and restore the cottage. It took several years to put our cottage, as well as other cottages at the beach, back to life. During the fall of 2021 our family decided to totally renovate the cottage and turn it into a year round home. My nephew chose to single handedly take on this immense task. From November, 2021 to June, 2022, the property was transformed from a quaint summer beach cottage to an amazingly beautiful all season home that overlooks the Connecticut shoreline; It is now an amazingly beautiful home to love an enjoy year round!
