Fantastic spot for your family or friends

Came here with my husband and 3 adult children plus their significant others to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time and loved that we could all hang out together during our down time. The location is superb with it's proximity to Yountville. The house and the backyard are well appointed and you'll never run out of fun activities. Beautiful views from the front porch!

Beautiful and convenient

The house is just as it appears in the photos, but even better. What a beautiful and relaxing property, and a convenient central location. It was perfect for our group to spend mornings and evenings hanging on the porch and in the back yard, and easy travel for our visits to the vineyards and restaurants. We walked to Bouchon in Yountville in the mornings, and enjoyed the easy access to the walking/biking trail. Very well stocked, and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend it!

Best Birthday Weekend!!

My daughter and I celebrated our birthday. This house was a true home. There was plenty of room for all eight of us. We loved that we had the ability to be together cook (kitchen has everything you need), drink wine, laugh and celebrate our birthday. The outside was amazing. Bocci ball, swimming pool. I watched the sunrise come up over the hill and the hot air balloons were being launched. Just truly a magical place. Lysa was wonderful to work with and we are truly grateful to have been able to stay in her home.

I love this house so much I want to buy it!!! Having grown up in Napa Valley, I am familiar with what makes a great wine country home. This place has got it all. Super centrally located among the vines with the dreamiest sunsets. Its the perfect set up for a low key, relaxing weekend in Napa Valley. Great kitchen, nice bedrooms and bathrooms, lots of space for everyone to spread out, yet still a cozy intimate feel. The backyard is to die for. The pool is EVERYTHING! Plus bocce and a trampoline and awesome grill/outdoor dining area. Truly everything I could have dreamed of. Lysa is a great host and really understands what wine country living is all about. Beautiful House, All the Amenities!

I booked this house for a girls getaway. The house was absolutely amazing. When you drive up, it's very unassuming. You drive through vineyards and finally are welcomed to the house through a long driveway. First step in, SUPER CLEAN, vibrant, organized, modern. Stepping to the backyard, you have everything you could want / imagine. Again, super clean (perhaps fresh water) pool, hot tub, water slide, in ground trampoline, bocce ball with cute lights for night time ambiance, a garden, fireplace with outdoor seating, etc. In addition, the home is in a great location, in close proximity to most of my favorite wineries. Beyond the great house, the owner was super responsive to a couple questions and seemed really sweet. I will 100% be renting this house again. Thanks for a great stay!

An amazing home in middle of a vineyard. Everything was just superb and beyond expectations!

Driving in to the property, you immediately know you have chosen a great place, arriving at the home surrounded by grapevines and olive trees. The house fools you in size. Unassuming from the outside with rockers and swing on the porch, we opened the front door to the most amazing great room and fantastic kitchen ! I honestly think our group of 8 sat everywhere the place had to offer: huge island in kitchen, huge bench table also in kitchen and another on back patio, around the outside gas fireplace, in the jacuzzi, or the hammock. Though all adults from 24 -60, we played bocce ball, jumped on the trampoline, played ping ping and wished we were small enough to even ride the zip line. We grilled out, we cooked in, The only thing we didn't do honestly was swim in the pool and that was because we are from Florida and need the water warmer LOL. A large family or group would love this house. And less than 5 miles from dozens of wineries and great restaurants and Target/Whole Foods where we bought essentials and dinner items when we cooked. On second day we were all already thinking of when we were coming back! Could not say enough good things honestly. And then to wake up surrounded by a dozen hot air balloons taking off and flying so close you could hear the gas blow was a thrill and has all of us outside in our pajamas drinking coffee in amazement. And the huge moon and thousands of stars at night. No light pollution in the middle of a vineyard !!!

The perfect house in the perfect location

My group had a wonderful time in this home. There is quite literally nothing bad about the experience I could come up with if forced upon. Fort starters the location is both picturesque and convenient. Nestled on a vineyard just outside of Yountville you are welcomed to the property by a field of grapes with the house perfectly nestled in the middle. If you are up for a healthy walk or jog in the morning you can go into town for breakfast as some of our group did. If that is overly ambitious just grab the car keys and you will be there in a few minutes. As for me I sat in the front porch rocking chairs each morning and watched the hot air balloons float pristinely over the vineyard while I sipped on my coffee. Perfect. Next the outdoor landscaping and pool were again just perfect. The pool was elegant and surrounded by a solid canopy of lavender. The grass was mowed beautifully and weed free. So soft for your bare feet. There was much to do in the backyard. Between a bocce ball court, ping pong table, water slide, Frisbee golf and a zip line for little ones. The property stands on it's own when it comes to entertainment. Thus why we cancelled our dinner plans the last night and just enjoyed the property. As to the interior of the of the home. The kitchen was open to the living area and made a great place to congregate. All high end appliances. Ha, I did not even realize Viking made a coffee maker! There is a Sonos sound system that will play your music all through the house and on the porches. Those of us that wanted to stay up late directed the system to keep the music on the back porch and it did not disturbed those that went to bed early. The rooms are reserved with very comfortable beds and easy bathroom access for each. The décor for the place was sophisticated but not overly busy. You will impress friends or clients with this property but you wont be a nervous wreck worrying about them breaking a priceless artwork. If your intention is to cook your meals you will have everything you could possibly need to get the job done and more. Though we found that a hard option to follow considering all of the incredible restaurants in Yountville just a stones throw away. I really could go on and on but I will leave it there. If you choose this property I am confident you will enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Fantastic Home in Heart of Napa

We just returned from a long weekend in Napa with two other couples and this home is spectacular. Has everything you need and the environment surrounding the home is unbelievable. Quiet, calm and in the heart of a vineyard. Owners were terrific to work with and were very responsive when we had questions or needed things. We loved our stay in Napa Valley at the Rockin Ranch. Plenty of room both inside and outside to spend time together. The patio fireplace was a perfect ending to each day, while the pool served as a great gathering space for late afternoons with smells of lavender filling the air. And let’s not forget the cool mornings spent in the rocking chairs with a warm cup of coffee and hot air balloons rising in our view. I would highly recommend Rockin Ranch for your next visit to Napa. Nice location, well appointed and a perfect place to enjoy your friends.

So-So House, Great Location & Outdoor Space, Bad Experience with Owner

Summary: OK house, nothing special; great location & outdoor space. I wouldn’t rent the property again – bad experience with the owner & the pool/hot tub were mostly not useable. Our stay was marred by a last-minute notification about issues with the pool/hot tub, a disagreement with the owner about compensation & because the owner is unwilling to engage in a discussion about the issue to come to an agreement. We rented this house for 5 days over the July 4th holiday based on its advertised heated pool & hot tub, size & location. I got notice from the owner 1 day prior to arrival that the pool heater was broken. The pool was supposedly warm (we found that not to be true) & the hot tub was not working. It would likely not be fixed during our stay. Due to character limits for this review, I won’t provide all details, but after telling us the heater would be fixed on the second day of our stay, it was not fixed until the last full day of our stay (giving us about ½ day with a working hot tub, the pool didn’t warm up much at all while we were there). Because the pool was pretty cold and we couldn’t use the hot tub to warm up & given we had rented the home based on the fact that a heated pool & hot tub were advertised, we requested a discount. The owner offered a refund of ~10%. I felt a refund closer to 25% was more appropriate. We went back & forth over the disagreement. I told her I would file a formal complaint with VRBO and did. She then withdrew her offer of any refund & said she only wanted to hear from me through VRBO going forward. I would never rent from this owner again. We didn’t seek a full refund, but a ~10% discount given the decline in the quality of the property due to the lack of a useable pool/hot tub was not adequate. The withdrawal of any refund offer once I told her of the formal complaint to VRBO is also troubling. She seems unwilling to discuss further. The home is fine, not special: Kitchen/living area & layout are nice; furnishings are a bit run down; bathrooms are small & not recently updated. For high cost of this property, I’d expect better. Great outdoor spaces & location. Front porch/backyard are well laid out; fun amenities. Although the weather was warm, because the pool was pretty cold, it was not pleasant to be in & we weren’t able to warm up in the hot tub. Instead of enjoying the outdoor areas, we spent a lot of time in a house that was just OK, & could have been anywhere in the world.

Jumping for Joy

Thank you, thank you for having us at your beautiful home in Yontsville, CA. Our family made memories we will cherish forever. From trampoline jumping to bocce playing, there was no shortage of fun! We spent the hot afternoons diving in the pool and sipping wine on the patio, and the cool nights grilling & playing cards by the fireplace. The kitchen was well-equipped, which made it easy to cook and host family dinners. Located down the road from the quaint town of Yontsville, we enjoyed the fabulous local restaurants & nearby wineries. We will miss the views of the vineyards and sunsets. It was the perfect retreat to celebrate my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary with family & friends.

Beautiful Napa Valley Home!

My husband & I love the Napa Valley & have been going there for many years. We recently stayed in this beautiful home for 4 days & highly recommend it for a family or big group. We usually stay at Meadowood or one of the other resorts in the area, but decided to stay here because our 2 daughters, their boyfriends & our nephew, all in their 20's, joined us for the long weekend. We were there for a wedding in St. Helena, but also wanted to relax, enjoy the valley & do some wine tasting. This turned out to be the perfect place for our group & we loved staying there. The property is tucked away in the middle of a vineyard & is quite spacious. The house itself is charming & comfortable & easily accommodated the 7 of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the large swimming pool, spa & outdoor fireplace in the back yard, as well as the numerous games & activities. It's in a great location, close to the restaurants & wineries in Yountville & an easy drive to both Napa & St. Helena. The owners, Lysa & John, were very helpful & easy to work with. I want to thank them for sharing their lovely home with us! We hope to come back soon!

The best place to stay in Napa

This home was perfect all around. The house was very comfortable and cozy, especially sitting in the window seat or on the porch watching the hot air balloons being launched each morning. Waking up in the morning to the luscious green vineyards surrounding you was a great way to start your morning in wine country. The house was meticulously maintained with great amenities such as a hot tub, pool and outdoor fireplace. The house had all the essential items you would need such as all items for cooking and having a nice cocktail or glass of wine. The owner Lysa, was very accommodating and available to answer any questions that we had prior to our stay and during our visit. The location of home was great as it was an easy hop to local vineyards, restaurants and stores.

Gorgeous home, great for entertaining and vine viewing!

We had such a great experience at the Rocking Chair Ranch! Our group loved how we were nestled in the vines. The pool, outside fireplace, and also the rocking chairs on the front porch added so much to our vacation. All of the amenities outside (pool, bocce ball court, and zip line) also made our trip fun memorable! A great place for a family getaway!

Perfect Napa home!

My husband and I, along with 3 of our adult children and 2 of their spouses, stayed at this lovely home over Labor Day weekend. The location of the property couldn't have been better for our 2 full days of wine tasting at the nearby vineyards. When we drove onto the property, we couldn't believe that we were actually right in the middle of acres of vineyards! The natural setting of the vineyards and the mountains are amazing. The home is beautifully decorated and updated. We had everything we needed at our disposal. A huge chef's kitchen with ample space for a large family or several couples to share. The backyard is a child's dream...(and was perfect for our big kids too!!) A large pool and hot tub, swing set, inground trampoline, bocce ball court, zip line (for smaller peeps only)...ping pong, corn hole, outdoor grill and fireplace...you name it, it's there and in fabulous condition. Such a great area to relax in after a long day of drinking wine! The icing on the cake was the early morning hot air balloon activity, right in our front yard! We sat on the front porch with our coffee and enjoyed this spectacular sight all 3 mornings that we were there. What a treat! Overall, I highly recommend this home for a wonderfully memorable Napa vacation. Some of the best wineries in the world are right down the street! Lysa, the owner, is very easy to communicate with and was very sweet and helpful. I hope that we're able to visit again sometime in the future!!

Great outdoor spaces

Our family totally enjoyed the outdoor spaces... everything from the front porch in the morning watching the sunrise over the mountains and the hot air balloons floating overhead...to the afternoons in the pool....the evenings playing bocce ball....to the nights relaxing after dinner by the outdoor fire place. I honestly think the only thing we didn't utilize outside was the zip line and that was because it had a 100 lb weight limit. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed to prepare our breakfast and dinners. This is definitely the way to experience the wine country with family and friends.

Wonderful stay in charming location

What an amazingly, peaceful home!!!

This home is all it advertises to be & more. We had such an incredible time there. The front porch is amazing!!! We sat and had our coffee while watching hot air balloons take off. Just amazing. We had a great time at this extremely well-located, if not hard to find, house. The owner was great and very responsive to any questions or issues we had. Everything you would need in the kitchen was there for us and the BBQ performed rather well. I would say that the electronics - spa, pool and lights - were very difficult to figure out and that the manual doesn't necessarily help you there. Hope you like frogs as well......they certainly seem to like the pool at night.

From mornings on the front porch with coffee watching the balloons lift to evenings on the back porch in front of the fire with local wine -- the house was a perfect place for our group. Bocce ball, a perfectly equipped kitchen, fireplaces, seclusion...it was the best place to stay. Convenient for winery visits or perfect for a secluded quiet stay. The house is comfortable and a wonderful place to be. I will definitely stay there again!

AMAZING home rental, worth the price and the best part of our Napa trip! Great location, too!!

We were hoping the house lived up to its amazing VRBO pictures...it was even better in person!! Not only is it beautiful with a full view of the vineyard all the way around the house, but it also felt like a fun little adult (party of 8) playground (great for kids, too, but we left ours at home for this trip!). Bocce ball, mini zip line, trampoline, ping pong and the pool-slide and spa...we did it all and had a blast!! We took our coffee out to the giant front porch every morning and watched the hot air balloons go up...the view is breath taking, don't sleep in too late or you might miss it! The inside was clean, nicely decorated and well stocked with anything you could think of needing, especially in the kitchen! Plenty of blankets for those cool mornings on the porch or late evenings out back by the fire (we did this every night!!). The house is well located, we walked/ran about 2 miles into town and rented bikes...I highly recommend doing this, it was so fun! The town is charming with its smaller wine tasting rooms, a bakery and some great restaurants, too!! We loved getting to experience the town in addition to traveling as far as Calistoga and several in between to the big beautiful wineries and cave tours!! The VRBO owner was also very helpful with ideas of things to do during our visit! Overall we had a wonderful time, worst part is that we didn't stay another day! We would definitely rent this home again and would highly recommend to others!

My group was extremely pleased with this property

I travelled to Yountville in September, there were 6 of us on a mother/daughter vacation. This home was perfect for us, we had plenty of space both inside and outside. We found it extremely relaxing in the morning with our coffee and sitting on the front porch with our coffee, watching the hot air balloons. What could be more beautiful? The evenings were just as delightful in the backyard with a glass of wine and a fire. Everything with this property went very well. The location is key. I would highly recommend this property. I know I will be back. Thank you!!!
