Private exterior entrance; no shared interiors. Bedroom (1 queen), bath, living room/kitchenette. Wi-Fi & cable TV. Ceiling fans, floor fans & space heaters. No A/C or central heat.

Wide lawn with lake view. Easy walk to quaint village of Omena. Near Suttons Bay, Northport, Leland. 20 mi. to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Your base to explore beautiful Leelanau Peninsula!
The space
A great place to stay for exploring beautiful Leelanau. Simple, basic, clean.

Cottage Suite is on the grounds of historic Sunset Lodge in Omena, overlooking Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. Private entrance with keypad lock. On 2nd floor of guest cottage built in 1895.

Note: staircase is very narrow - NOT SAFE for toddlers! And not good for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

1 bedroom w/ Queen, 3 windows (east/west exposures) & ceiling fan. Bathroom w/ stall shower, renovated 2018. Kitchenette/sitting area has mini-fridge, microwave, toaster-oven, plug-in burner, coffee maker stocked with coffee & teas, electric water kettle, dishes, small dining table, convertible sofa.

WiFi and HD cable TV. No a/c or central heat: ceiling fans, floor fans, electric space heaters. Spaces might be cool in spring & fall.

All guests welcome to use outdoor common areas: pickleball court, patio, lawn w/ great view of Omena Bay & outdoor furniture. A moment's walk to historic village of Omena with waterside restaurant/bar, tasting room, art gallery, historical museum and public beach. Omena is a quiet, small village (pop < 300) near many wide-open spaces, parks & trails.

Ideal base to explore the Leelanau Peninsula. Nearby hiking and biking trails, beaches, rivers for canoeing and fishing, golf, shopping and restaurants, and the magnificent Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

**COVID-19 note: Suite has complete privacy. Exterior entrance w/ keypad door lock. Social distancing from others easily achieved entering/exiting the suite. Your suite will be cleaned thoroughly prior to arrival. Hand sanitizer & cleaners provided in suite. Check yourselves in & out independently. Housekeeper will not enter your room while you are here - unless requested for special needs. Outdoor areas on property for guests to relax & socialize w/ traveling companions, allowing comfortable privacy. PLEASE OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING at all times from other guests.
Guest access
Guests have access to to pickle ball court, patio & deck, lawn w/ great views of Omena Bay.

Please observe appropriate social distancing in all common areas.
Other things to note
No A/C or central heat. Ceiling fans (both rooms) & floor fans, windows open for east-west breeze. Electric space heaters - in cold weather spaces might feel chilly depending on personal preferences. Not good for babies/small children if weather is cold.

Suite is on 2nd floor up a NARROW staircase. If you have difficulty with stairs, or have a toddler/small child, this is not a good choice. Bedroom has door, but living room does not and it's open to the staircase - unsafe for toddlers/small children.

Do not operate multiple appliances at same time please (might blow a fuse).

No housekeeping, unless special need arises.
