Nice cabin great amenities the host was very accommodating and attentive if he said he was going to do something he did it without me even asking absolutely loved the place
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Fernwood. The cabin was perfect. Cozy, clean and modernized. Wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely plan a return trip in the future.
We had the sweetest time at The Fernwood Cottage. Everything from the quality interior, the beautiful leaded windows, linen bedding and the organic cold pressed virgin olive oil available for cooking - was lovely. A lot of thought was put into creating this space and we fully appreciated the effort. Our host was generous and replied straight away to any questions. Thank you. We’ll be back!
It was exactly what we were looking for, beautifully remodeled place, very quiet, very comfy beds, location is ideal. Lots of birds ! Steller's Jays, Pine Siskins, Acorn Woodpeckers and more.
The house is beautiful and they have such a chill vibe. Very close to restaurants walking distance to cafe aroma recommend. The best part it felt like the outdoors was just outside your door step. Would definitely stay in this awesome home again
Lovely property within a mile of downtown, but just far enough away to be private and quiet. Thoughtful details throughout the cozy, clean environment. Loved the wood fireplace (with plenty of firewood provided), record player (with great selection of albums), and outdoor fire pit. Host communicated promptly and helpfully throughout our weekend stay, and gave advance warning of inclement weather approaching to ensure we were prepared. 10/10 will stay there again.
The house is in a perfect location - just a mile or so from center of town (walkable), but also far enough that we rarely heard a car. Even though the neighboring houses were somewhat close by, the trees around the house offered perfect privacy and solitude. Every feature of the cabin is thoughtfully designed - from the lighting, to the floors, to the fireplace to the record collection....Couldn't have asked for a better spot!
Nicely updated 2-bedroom cabin with plenty of amenities including a well-furnished wood-burning fireplace and a large deck has a gas firepit and adirondack chairs to unwind and help with star-gazing. There's no TV but we didn't miss it. The Tesla charger is a nice plus if you drive an EV.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay! My friends and I were happy to be able to book a home just a week before check in as our plan B trip. Luke is very accommodating and communicative especially just after the insane Socal blizzards we experienced this winter. The home itself is beautiful inside and out and super clean. There were plenty of games, books, proper cooking tools, and other amenities to make our experience enjoyable. I didn’t realize that there is no TV but all of the amenities and location made up for that to keep is entertained 😃. I appreciate the attention to detail! Would love to stay here again. It made me love Idyllwild so much more.
Luke's place in Idllywild is amazing. It has everything you need from the fire pit, to the record player for when you are making dinner, to the games to entertain yourselves while at Fernwood. The little town is filled with so many amazing shops which are all super close. All of Luke's recommendations hit the spot. Whether its Italian, Bagels, Beer, and even Coffee they were all really really great. Didn't get to hike this time because we ran out of time but we will for sure be back to do some hiking in the fall. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape the city life for a bit, and just relax and enjoy nature. I'm actually glad there was no TV because you don't even need it! Thanks again!
I highly recommended stay at this lovely cabin. Whether it be in the summer to cool down from the hot desert heat, or in the winter to enjoy a little snow play time. We visited in the winter. It was gorgeous with snow on the ground.
The owner is very responsive and even offered us a late check out, because it had snowed and he wanted us to be able to get down the roads safely when they were warm and the snow had melted. It was fun to play some of the LP's. They were all music that I had grown up with, classic rock, even Johnny Cash.
The accommodations are lovely, really could not have been better. The kitchen was very well stocked. I would only suggest bringing an extra large bowl if you plan on doing baking like we did. There is no TV, so bring your laptop or devices to watch movies on if you want to do that. The nice thing about not having a TV is that it kind of forces you to have more conversation time which was nice spending time with my adult son and his girlfriend.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful space to families to create memories together.
We had a fantastic weekend getaway at this cabin! The host was excellent—super communicative and helpful. The cabin itself was awesome, cozy, and conveniently close to the center of town. We loved our stay and would definitely go back!
We love the outdoors and want to share this special place with you.
