Secluded, Romantic Mountain Cabin for 2, fully equipped

Romantic, secluded fully equipped cabin for two in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 18 mi NW of Charlottesville, on Brokenback Mountain and near to Skyline Drive and the Appalachian Trail; 80 miles from Washington DC. Just a short drive to Charlottesville; home of 'Monticello' and the University of Virginia.

Located on over 200 acres, with 2 hiking trails on the property. The cabin has a gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, 2 person Jacuzzi tub, and shower. No TV, telephone or WiFi and spotty cell service, Does have a stereo with CD's and tapes, and lots of books, board games, cards, etc.
Includes covered porch and open deck, with BBQ grill. There is also a hammock under the trees to relax in.
Sorry, no children, pets, or smoking in cabin.
Access to community swimming pool in summer.
Relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the quiet of our mountain valley.


Amenities:: All kitchen appliances; coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, blender, mixer, toaster - even down to the napkins in the kitchen.

Bath has 2 person air jetted tub and separate shower; all linens and towels are provided, as well as amenities.

Bedroom has queen sized bed, and is carpeted, as is the dressing room area.

Living room has hardwood floors, sofa and chairs; lots of books, CD's and tapes, and board games and cards and a gas fireplace.

Secluded and very private.

Activities: : Swimming pool on property in season; hiking trails on property.

Area: Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, very close to the Skyline Drive.
18 mi NW of Charlottesville, Va. which is home to Monticello and the University of Virginia. Also close to Montpelier and Ash Lawn, both homes of former Presidents. 90 miles from Washington, DC and about 65 miles from Richmond, Va. Close by to numerous wineries.

Perfect getaway

Excellent stay!

My partner and I loved our long weekend here. It was very peaceful and the host was really communicative. Our little Mazda had some trouble with the gravel road, so I would just recommend driving a larger car if you can! Overall, it was wonderful and I highly recommend!

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the charming Creek House, which was very clean and well equipped for a vacation visit. We were looking for a quiet place to unwind for the weekend. There are many breweries and wineries that are a scenic drive away, and Charlottesville is not far but feels a world away. There is no Internet or cell service at the house, but we didn’t mind. If you go, be sure to visit nearby Jack’s Shop Kitchen for brunch and Noon Whistle Pottery for unique gifts.

A wonderful solo retreat!

I can't say enough good things about my stay at this cabin! It was so special and exactly as advertised! I stayed alone on a little solo retreat my husband planned for me and it was perfect. The cabin had everything I needed to relax, prep meals, and sleep comfortably. It was cozy, secluded (though near other cabins they can't be seen through the trees and other guests were so respectful and occupied with their own relaxation that I never heard or saw them!). This cabin is particularly special because of it's location near the creek. The sound of the water is lovely through the windows and from the deck. I can't wait to return and can only imagine it would be oh so romantic to return with my partner. There is no wifi (part of the charm) and there is definitely no cell service! So make sure you pay attention to the directions sent by the host because at a certain point GPS will be useless. But the directions the host sends are more than sufficient!

Good choice for the right people

The cabin was very nice, comfortable bed, very quiet and enough room for the two of us. The owner was very responsive, replying within hours of any communication. The biggest issue we had was the listing doesn't say it doesn't have internet, but it does say no phone or television. We consider internet to be more expected today than a television or telephone. It was particularly difficult when we needed to change our flights. So just be aware, there is NO internet in this cabin. Also the road is a primitive dirt road, our rental car was filthy after the first day. As I said, I think this is a great choice for the right people who want to get away from it ALL - with us living in Texas, we wouldn't consider this again.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-!

This cabin is perfect and the scenery is to die for! My husband wanted to get away for the night to celebrate his birthday, and this is one for the memory book! The road up to the cabin was fun and we spent most of our day at Bald Top Brewery in Madison enjoying some of the local beer. After we were done exploring Madison, we went back up to the cabin to enjoy the unplugged time together. When you walk into the cabin, Chuck has ensured that everything is taken care of. We had a handwritten note with candies on the bed. Everything you could think of was available for you to use in the cabin. The gas fireplace was a great touch to enjoy the evening together along with the sound of the creek behind the cabin. The next morning it was raining and snowing so we weren't able to explore the lay of the land, but it didn't matter. We stayed in bed with coffee and enjoyed our time together. When the fall rolls around we will be back for sure to celebrate our anniversary! If you are on the fence about renting this place, don't be. It is WORTH IT!

Heavenly, peaceful and the babbling creek is exquisite

It was perfect. It had everything we needed and nothing that we didin't need. The deck and George Foreman made grilling steaks a breeze. The location in Wine country was convenient. We visited 11 wineries.
