About the host

Hosted by Carolyn Sue

Host profile image
Hi, I’m Carolyn Sue, and I’m proud to call Laurel, Mississippi, my lifelong home. This house has been a family home since the 1940s, and hosting guests here allows me to share not just a piece of our history but also the charm and warmth of Southern living.

I’ve always loved meeting new people, which is one of the reasons I enjoy hosting so much. When I’m not welcoming guests, you can find me baking something sweet in the kitchen, sewing a new project, or traveling to explore new places. Spending time with my family is my greatest joy, and I hope you’ll feel that same sense of togetherness during your stay.

Hosting is my way of extending a warm Southern welcome to folks from near and far. I hope you’ll love our home and Laurel as much as I do.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in the heart of Laurel, Mississippi, my home is surrounded by the charm and beauty of a classic Southern neighborhood. Towering oaks line the streets, providing shade and a sense of timelessness, while the houses nearby are full of character, each with its own unique story to tell. It’s the kind of place where neighbors still wave hello, and you can often hear the hum of laughter and conversation from porches in the evening.

What I enjoy most about this neighborhood is its welcoming spirit and proximity to so many of Laurel’s treasures. Whether it’s strolling through downtown to browse the shops, savoring a delicious meal at a local eatery, or enjoying the beauty of the nearby parks, there’s always something to see and do.

The neighborhood is peaceful and full of history, making it the perfect place to relax and soak in the slower pace of Southern living. I love hearing from guests about how much they enjoy the quiet charm and easy access to everything Laurel has to offer. It’s a special place, and I’m so happy to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

What makes this property truly stand out is its unique combination of historic charm and modern comfort. This home has been a family home since the 1940s, and I’ve worked hard to make it a warm, welcoming space for every guest. It’s not just a house—it’s a well-appointed retreat where you’ll feel right at home.

The kitchen is fully stocked with every item you could possibly need, whether you’re whipping up a gourmet meal or just brewing your morning coffee. Beyond that, I’ve included thoughtful extras like a toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and even a few living plants to bring a fresh, vibrant feel to the space.

With bright, plentiful windows and a spotless interior, the house feels light, airy, and incredibly inviting. Guests often tell me how much they appreciate the attention to detail and how everything they need is right at their fingertips. They share that they feel like they're staying with family, and that's the greatest compliment I could ask for.

I believe what really sets this property apart is the sense of home it offers. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a place to relax, recharge, and create your own special memories.
