About the host
Hosted by Sherman

My name is Sherman and my wife and I are the owners of the Cupola House. My ancestors and family have lived and farmed in the area of this house since the 1840's. They homesteaded the area, fought in the Civil War, survived the Great Forest Fire of 1871 and numerous bitter winters. Their love for Door County and its waters, bays and cliffs has been undying.
The land the house sits on, has been in our family for 75 years and is the second residence on it. When we built this house, we wanted it to be modern inside but the exterior to reflect our local heritage.
My wife and I, our four children, nine grandchildren, and numerous friends love Door County and especially staying at the Cupola House. We love to share the experience with many others and are proud to be your hosts.
