Wow! What a nice place to stay. Family of six plus dog. Home was cozy, comfortable, loved that the kitchen was stocked with larger size pots and pans family of six to cook for. We loved it and plan to return. Enjoyed Games, football, walks and Hot tub!

Strongtastic
We had a fabulous stay at the Stronghod house. The owner Jeff was very easy to communicate with. We had a small issue and Jeff made a stop by the house and fixed the issues quickly. He was so friendly advising us where we should fish, even offering to take us to a few hidden local spots to fish next time we come. The kids loved all the wooded surrounds they could run and play in. I would definitely recommend the Stronghold house for your next family trip!

Disgusting!
Let’s start with the kitchen … the counters were jammed with dirty, dusty and/or greasy appliances! The rugs had not been washed in some time. The insides of the drawers and lower cabinets were FILTHY! Crumbs in the silverware to the pots and pans drawers! There is an array of dishes, glassware (chipped glass cut my grandson’s lip,) plastics, pots & pans, etc. The entire home had not been vacuumed! All the wooden surfaces were covered in dust. Even though the ad “tagline” references hot tub, the welcome binder says NOT to use due to insurance. The linens, sheets & bedding were most likely purchased when the house was built. HAZARDS outside; deep trench behind garage and two ladders leaning against house! When texting with one of the family members, all she said about my complaints was, “Good luck to you!” Wow!

Wonderful Stay in Well-Loved Family Cabin
We stayed at the Stronghold with three young kids and five adults for a family birthday celebration. This was our second time coming to the lake but our first time staying at this particular house. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house was perfect for our needs. The house was clean and comfortable. The decorations in the house made it feel very homey. It felt as though we were staying at a family member's cabin. Perfect for a family getaway. The bunk room had toys that the kids really liked to play with. At night, we sat around the firepit and stargazed from the deck. We saw a number of shooting stars: beautiful. We happened to be at the house during a heatwave. The house does not have A/C. However, there were thermometers showing the outside temperature, which made it pretty easy to ventilate the house in the morning and shut it down before it got hot. We did most of our cooking on the BBQ to keep the heat outside. During the day, we swam and played in the lake. It was a lot of fun, and was a great way to stay cool during the heatwave. The one negative thing that I would say about the house is that some of the information in it needs to be updated. For example, while the house listing advertises the hot tub, the welcome book says that guests are not allowed to use the tub. That being said, the confusion was not an issue for us: with the heatwave, we had no interest in the tub! We definitely would recommend the Stronghold.

Will return!
Had a blast staying at The Stronghold with me and four of my friends, all of us 19 for reference. Beds were comfortable, clean, and plenty big enough. The whole house was well furnished and clean, hot tub was clean and worked perfectly. My favorite part of all was the amazing night air! The house ventilates really well and is soooo comfortable at night. Had some of the best sleep ever which had me super energized for our vacation. Me and my friends all had a great time staying here, and we’ll be back for sure! :) PS: You’ll be blown away by the night sky if you’re used to city lights like me 😉
