Our stay at The Squirrel’s Nest was wonderful. The house is so well appointed and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had. If we come to Connestee in the future we would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time. The house was clean and loved how it felt new! We needed an air mattress and the host had no problem providing one for us. The location and community were great. One thing my kids loved was the book of waterfalls on the coffee table. We enjoyed picking new falls and exploring them each day.

A Relaxing Retreat

A lovely home that still had a new home smell. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Our hosts were exceptionally responsive regarding our requests for pickle ball and tennis court reservations. I highly recommend this home if your looking for a wonderful Connastee Falls experience.

Wooded peace and quiet with touches of luxury

Gorgeous rustic contemporary home! Great location in Connestee. Beautifully decorated. Loved the outdoor decks for grilling, socializing and enjoying nature. Son was home for College Spring Break, so enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen to prepare some home cooked meals. Hiked the nearby trails, and overall had a very comfortable "at home" stay at the Squirrel's Nest!

A true gem

We found the home to be perfect for our week long stay in Brevard. We were in the area while our daughter spent her first week at an overnight camp. The owners’ communication was prompt and very helpful. We had a couple of early questions and they were very responsive. We loved the community and used the pool and hiked to some local water falls. All in all a great stay in a beautiful new home with all the amenities. .

Modern Mountain Living

The property is absolutely beautiful and attention to detail is evident. It is exactly as shown in the pictures, but what you can't see is how extremely clean it is! I am a bit of a "neat freak" and I felt so comfortable in this house! The host responded to any questions immediately and she was a pleasure to deal with.

Mountain Getaway

We stayed at The Squirrel's Nest the last two weeks of September. The property was in great condition and had everything we needed to make us feel like we were at home. We really hated to leave. The location is very private and not too far from the gate. Lots of fun things to do in the area. We played five rounds of golf at Connestee Falls and found the course to be in good shape and a fun challenge. We are already planning our return trip for 2024.

Great VRBO experience

Great location on quiet cul-de-sac, the house is isolated and surrounded by trees. We had several visits by the neighborhood deer. Everything looked new and clean. Master suite downstairs was a bonus. We appreciated the adequately stocked kitchen, new appliances including washer/dryer and oversized master shower. Close to hiking, wineries, and small towns, everything we wanted to do was less than an hour away! Added bonus was clubhouse where we enjoyed a great dinner overlooking the golf course where, if we were golfers, we could have played. Hostess was easy to communicate with and was able to resolve any questions or issues quickly. We definitely would stay again if in the area!

Can't wait to return!

Lovely home to stay in! Home is nearby to many outdoor activities. We opted for a waterfall hike in DuPont Forest and a mountain hike in Pisgah. Spent some time in lovely nearby Brevard, and close enough to take an evening trip out to Asheville. Home was clean and tidy with everything you could need. My kids enjoyed working on a puzzle and playing the games in the house. Roku TV allowed us to stream all our favorite shows when not relaxing on the outside porch listening to the sounds of nature. I cannot wait to return!! I'll be sure to get a few extra days and remember to bring my mountain bike! Thanks again for the perfect weekend getaway!

What an amazing property!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed. The house was prepared for our arrival, the lights were all turned on and the house was immaculate! The location of this property is great, it is in close proximity to the gate and a short drive to the clubhouse/golf course/pickleball court/tennis court/bocce/pool. There is so much to do in this community, the trails are a bonus! As for the house, it has a wonderful layout. The primary bedroom is downstairs, and the two secondary bedrooms are upstairs. Everything is new and fresh! We are already planning our return trip for next summer! A big thank you to the owners, they were very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Best rental we've ever stayed at!!

What a beautiful, modern, private, and immaculate cabin in the woods! It's actually even better than in the pictures. Everything was thought of and provided for a nice, relaxing, retreat. The view from the deck was incredible where we could just sit in the adirondack chairs and hear the rain fall. The owners answered every question we had during our stay and made it even better. The pool was fun and we hiked to the nearby falls. So nice to come back to our little hideaway and turn on the colorful fireplace, make steaks in the smoker, and relax. They have done such an incredible job with this place. Nothing was missed. We can't wait to go back! Thank you Alex and Thea! This was our 1st time having 4 days alone since we had kids and it was just perfect!

Beautiful new build custom cabin. Awesome neighborhood!

We were so thankful to stay at “The Squirrel’s Nest.” Thea is an amazing host. The home is perfectly stocked with everything you can ever need for a comfortable stay. It is eloquently decorated. We saw deer and white squirrels walk around the cabin everyday. It is easy access to the East Fork Gate and the amenities throughout the neighborhood. The golf course is primo. It may have been the most peaceful round of golf I’ve ever played. I had no issues getting a tee time and basically had the course to my self two afternoons. We stayed the week before Helene hit. We actually left two days before the storm hit realizing we needed to cut our stay short because we were entirely unprepared to ride out a basic thunderstorm, let along a catastrophic hurricane. I’ve heard the neighborhood faired well and so did the cabin all things considered. I pray for swift recovery and the Squirrels Nest can go back to normal operations ASAP. Thea was very accommodating about our decision to leave early (even before anyone knew how bad the storm would actually be). I bought insurance so it was no big deal. Please support tourism in Brevard as soon as they are ready. The economy depends on it.

We are a small trio of outdoor enthusiasts! Most of our time is spent hiking and biking in DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. We enjoy small, local business and frequent the Transylvania County Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings after grabbing breakfast at the Pisgah Bakehouse.

Why they chose this property

The best decision to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! After traveling to Brevard for several years, we decided Connestee Falls was the location for us. We love the quiet community with ample amenities for our more relaxed days. We fell in love with this home because it gave us everything we needed for our family with enough space for extended family and friends.
