The Fern Cave, named after a hiking destination in Caprock Canyons, is a small (approximately 14’ x 18’) tiny cabin. It is a studio-style cabin, furnished with a queen-size bed and twin bunk beds. It sleeps 4 people. It has a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet.
There is no kitchen or kitchen sink, but there is a compact refrigerator (smaller than a standard fridge, but bigger than a mini-fridge), microwave, coffeemaker, Roku TV, and an outdoor area with a gas grill. This cabin has a window A/C and heating unit.
--------------- Please note: This is one of multiple vacation rentals on our property (Shepherd Family Cabins & RV Campground). While there are other cabins on the property, each rental is separate with no shared spaces.

Excellent location for our one night stay and visit to Caprock Canyons State Park. It was a quiet, peaceful and comfortable place. It had everything we needed.
Great little place for our Caprock State Park trip. Extremely close to the park and soooo much better than packing all the camping equipment. The light strings outside made a great impression when grilling in the evening.
The house was easy to find and in the perfect location for Caprock Canyon. We ate at Hotel Turkey on Friday night which was a short 10 minute drive away and then enjoyed our evening at the cabin before our early morning hike on Saturday.
Excellent little cabin, very clean with a comfortable bed and internet access. Grounds were quiet and well maintained, and the entrance to the state park is just around the corner.

The cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. We stayed two nights and visited Caprock Canyon. The area around cabin is quiet and peaceful. Very lovely place.
The property was awesome, the rooms were clean, and the hosts were very kind and amazingly accommodating! GREAT location to the CapRock Canyon State Park! We WILL BE BACK!
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Caprock. It's just a short drive outside the park and super convenient. Everything was very neat and clean. The pictures don't do the cabin justice. The area was very quiet and peaceful. Thanks Tracy, we had a great stay.
Was exactly right for me and my two daughters to stay in while visiting caprock. Cute little group of tiny homes literally a couple of minutes away from the park! Bring your own food though! Not much open close by in the way of restaurants, but there is a grill available at the home!

It was exactly like the description and photos. It was perfect for us since we basically needed a place to sleep and be close to our family reunion. The grounds were clean and beautiful. We will stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay. We went so we could stargaze and it was well worth it! Very little light pollution with a new moon. We could see the Milky Way a little bit. As for the cabin, it was comfy and had everything we needed. The water pressure was excellent and better than expected! We enjoyed our stay.
Road trip with one stop @ Caprock Canyon State Park. The Fern Cave was a perfect place to rest and relax. 🙂

This property is so convenient to Caprock Canyon State Park. After a day of hiking, relaxing on the porch and the coziness of the cabin was very welcome. I would add that the cabin looks nice on the website but even better in person. We had a locked out emergency due to us and they were excellent in helping us. My wife commented almost immediately, why didnt we stay here longer?
Fern Cave is cute and clean, right down the road from the state park where we saw bison, prairie dogs and a variety of wildlife. The canyons were beautiful! A sweet border collie greeted us as soon as we arrived and we could hear cows in the distance. Thanks for the drinks and snacks!
