About this property

17th Century Stone House

17 Century Holiday Farmhouse in Issac, Dordogne, France - MAISON DE NICOLA

Beautiful three-bedroom stone house, with private pool in Issac, Dordogne. Maison de Nicola has been restored to a very high standard, with oak beams throughout, offering spacious living accommodation for up to six people.

The living room is approximately 65 square meters with a terra-cotta tiled floor which offers underfloor heating, if needed.
Look out through the french doors and notice the deep blue of the heated swimming pool, surrounded by wonderful views of the surrounding countryside! From the main living-room an oak staircase leads up to a large double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom which has a separate bath and shower.
The kitchen and dining area is approximately 55 square meters and is well equipped. This room also has an oak staircase leading up to two bedrooms - one with a double bed and one bedroom with twin beds. There is a second bathroom next to these bedrooms with a shower, toilet and basin.

The private swimming pool is alarmed. Here you will be surrounded by half an acre of gardens filled with flowering plants and many fruit trees.

Issac is situated in a beautiful part of the Dordogne. Bergerac airport is about 20 km away. The historic town of Bergerac, with its charming, little side streets filled with interesting places to eat is definitely worth a visit. If golf is your game, there are number of courses within thirty minutes drive. And, of course, Bordeaux is about one hours drive away. Come and enjoy this wonderful part of France!

Family Vacation
We stayed in this lovely home in Issac for over a week, using it as our base to explore the Dordogne. Jennifer was a fantastic host, making us feel welcome and ready to enjoy her property. It was well appointed, the pool was warm and the setting was lovely. Issac is a quieter part of the area, but it is highly convenient with Mussidan a short 12 minute drive away. Mussidan has a few great boulangeries and an Intermarche amongst some other amenities. The home is a lovely conversion and renovation with much history. The AC in the bedrooms work very well and the main floor stayed cool amongst 90+ degree heat given the thick stone walls. Bergerac and Perigueux are lovely towns that are close. We also took the dozens of winding roads to Sarlat le Caneda, and the rest of the beautiful Dordogne villages and sites. We found our Waze app worked perfectly navigating the winding routes as much of your touring in the Dordogne will not be on A motorways. Overall a fantastic rural retreat we would recommend.

A wonderful stay.
A beautiful, spacious property with a wonderful view and peaceful surroundings. We loved the view from the pool and the outdoor dining area. Many hours were spent there, sitting, chatting and relaxing. Trips to Bordeaux, local night markets and a canoe trip down the river were all highlights.
