About this property

The house is setup for group stays, including weddings. We are perfectly located right in between Chestnut ski resort and Sundown mountain. The property is 20 minutes from Galena, and is just blocks from Downtown Dubuque. In the area, we have alot of restaurants, marina bars, casinos, the Mississippi River Museaum, and much more. Fall time is so beautiful in the area to see with the leaf color changes.

Wedding Weekend

We loved the historic feel of this huge home overlooking the city of Dubuque. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family group of 12 to get ready for our daughter's wedding. Coffee/tea and comfy sitting areas added a homey atmosphere.

Fit for a big group

Historic old house, plenty of room for our big family. Close to downtown. Don’t expect things to be perfect. Maintenance is needed on several things. Cleanliness was not great. Cobwebs and dust. Despite this, our family had a great time. Host was nice and allowed early check in for us.

Not the best weekend

Unfortunately we had a few issues with our stay here. Corey was great about letting us check in early because we had a funeral we had to attend and needed to get ready. The next morning the hot water broke and unfortunately the option was to go pretty far out of our way to shower. It was fixed while we were away but it quickly broke again so we didn't have hot water for almost the length of our stay. The property is huge and lots of room for family but the cleanliness of the property is subpar. There were a lot of carpet and couch stains throughout the house and things that could be improved.

Fun Times

It had dust and cobwebs. WAs fairly well supplied with cooking necessities. Did not have enough pillows or pillowcases and linens were hard to locate. Roof leaked when it rained. We just put pans under it and called the host.
