Hot tub is not-so-hot
We stayed here because of the proximity to Universal Studios. It gave plenty of room and privacy for each of us. There are TV's in each bedroom (and living room) which is very convenient for our family. I realize we stayed for just less than a week and I hate to be one of those reviewers that complain about details because we aren't actually buying the property but be aware the bed in the master bedroom (queen size) is very firm, hard, and was uncomfortable as well as some of the pillows being flat (no fluff). The other mattresses in the smaller rooms were softer.
We stayed at this estate before but in a different home and the estate is very nice, well maintained, clean, quiet and we felt very safe.
There was an issue with the hot tub not being heated. As per the listing you have to request "pool heat" at an additional $ rate per day. We traveled in April and didn't think we would need the pool heated BUT apparently you have to pay the extra fee to have the hot tub heated. I never had that experience before and was a little taken back. Hot tub implies HOT tub, no mention that it cost extra to heat the hot tub. The property manager advised that in order to heat the hot tub the pool heat has to be on. After a couple of days we asked if we could go ahead and pay the extra fee so the hot tub would be, a hot tub. At that point, the property manager advised there was an issue with the heater and was awaiting it to be repaired. I expressed our disappointment with the property owner that she didn't disclose the issue before check-in which she responded with being that we didn't request pool heat there was no need to mention that the heater for the hot tub wasn't working. Again, just confused because I am not familiar with the concept that the pool has to be heated for the hot tub to be heated. Just me?
Other than that, it was a nice and well maintained home. There are chairs in each closet which was slightly creepy. We were only left with one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom so keep that in mind with length of your stay/people in your group because you will need more. We left behind 2 rolls that were unused, not sure if the property manager leaves items like that behind for next guests to use (some properties do that).
Many many restaurants nearby to chose from. Highways close by. Orlando is very crowded so even though Universal is 14 miles away, it still took approx 40-60 minutes travel time so keep that in mind when planning your day.
