About this property

Gray Pine Cabin: A sophisticated rustic retreat overlooking Center Hill Lake

Gray Pine Cabin offers an idyllic setting to unplug in nature and start your lake adventure. Originally built by a Nashville songwriter, this three-story cabin has undergone a two-year renovation and now includes high-end finishes, a chef's kitchen with Smeg appliances and coffee bar, modern bathrooms with rainfall showerheads and Bluetooth speakers, and a vibey rec room perfect for board games, listening to vinyl on our turntable and enjoying your favorite (guest-provided) libation from the adjoining bar closet. You'll also experience designer-curated vintage/antique/contemporary decor throughout that marries the whimsy of the lakeside forest with upscale taste. Unparalleled, year-round views of gorgeous Eagle Creek Cove on Center Hill Lake await from an amazing rooftop deck with gas firepit and teak furniture or from the main floor deck with a Weber gas grill and dining area. The lower-level screened porch offers seasonal lake views and is always surrounded by a wooded canopy. And if you do have to pull yourself away from the view to work, the cabin has high-speed Internet as well as a dedicated desk. Roku TV with streaming capabilities in living and rec room.

Lake Access for Canoes/Kayaks: We do have a neighborhood put-in for canoes/kayaks if want to bring your own. Driving directions to put-in are in Welcome Guide at cabin. Please note the paved road down to put-in is a steep, one-lane road, but there is a large flat gravel parking area at bottom.

Sleeping Set-Ups are the following:
*Upstairs Bedroom (accessed via open tread timber staircase):
-1 queen bed with Stearns & Foster mattress
-1 luggage rack
-2 wall hooks behind door & 1 dresser (or can use walk-in hall closet for more storage)
-Bedroom has slider door access to the rooftop deck
*Upstairs Loft (accessed via open tread timber staircase):
-1 queen bed with Casper memory-foam mattress and 1 full futon
-1 luggage bench
-4 wall hooks (or can use walk-in hall closet for more storage)
-Loft open to the living room below and has a rope railing, so use caution around railing
-Ceiling track w/ privacy curtain closes off hall view to queen bed, but doesn't close off view to futon
*Lower-Level Bedroom (accessed via carpeted staircase; please note the top run of these stairs has narrow treads)
-1 queen bed with Stearns & Foster mattress
-1 dresser & walk-in closet
-1 luggage bench
-Bedroom is located off mudroom/office and has slider door access to screened porch

Bathroom Set-Ups are the following:
*Upstairs Full Bath:
-Located between the loft and upstairs bedroom and accessed through the hall walk-in closet
-Note there is one step up into the bathroom
-Shower/bathtub combo with Brizo rainfall & handheld showerhead
*Main Floor 1/2 Bath:
-Located between the living room and kitchen
*Lower-Level Full Bath:
-Located off hall between rec room and across from mudroom/office and lower-level bedroom
-Shower-only bathroom with Brizo rainfall and handheld showerhead
-Lower niche in shower is a shaving ledge

Parking/Road Conditions:
-Parking for 4 cars only
-There's a very short, slightly steep incline and a quick turning radius into our semi-circle gravel drive, so please PULL IN SLOWLY and heed the reflectors so you don't hit the rock retaining wall.
-You can use the grassy area (on same side of road as cabin) just before our mailbox or just after our semi-circle drive for additional parking, but just be sure to pull completely off the road so our neighbors can fully access the road.
-Our gravel road has one hill down and one hill up that is accessible most of the year by a 2-wheel drive vehicle, but if there are icy/wintery/slippery conditions, please use caution or only drive an all-wheel drive vehicle during these conditions.
-Don't drive up or down the part of the driveway next to the garage, as it's unsafe and closed off by a yellow chain.

Only 10 minutes to Smithville's charming downtown square with retail/dining, 16 minutes to Hurricane Marina and 18 minutes to Sligo Marina. 1 hr 15 mins outside Nashville | 35 mins to Cookeville | 1 hr to Murfreesboro | 2 hrs to Knoxville. There are also many waterfalls and state parks in the Upper Cumberland region that are close by, with Edgar Evins State Park only 30 mins away.

Other Things to Note:
*As we are near a body of water and are located in the woods, please research about wildlife, insects & reptiles native to Tennessee, so you can decide if our location will work for you before booking. We do have quarterly pest control and as needed.
*House Guide Binder (with house rules, check-out info, area things to do, etc.) & Kitchen Guide at property.
*There is one step onto front porch, one step down into dining room and one step into upstairs bath.
*Front stone walkway isn't perfectly level, so please keep in mind.
*The backside of property has a steep hill that we don't allow anyone to venture on. If you do so, you do at your own risk.
*Property has exterior security cameras.

The most perfect cabin in the woods
This cabin is immaculate, and there was no detail overlooked. From the luxurious bedding, to the technology in the bathrooms, to the amenities in the kitchen to the view from every angle, you will not be disappointed. The rooftop deck holds jaw dropping views, and we had a fantastic weekend trip with friends. The hosts were so helpful and could also run a full service travel agency based on the local recs they sent us—we were not short of things to do and places to see. We simply cannot say enough good things about Gray Pine Cabin, and we will definitely be back!

Beyond My Expectations- PERFECT
Can't say enough about how incredibly beautiful and unique this home is. It was VERY quiet and private! Country setting inside (wood stove, antique furniture). Spotless with clean bedding on super comfy mattress. Upstairs bedroom walks out to balcony with propane fire pit. We slept with doors open. Bathtub and shower is beautiful with plenty of hot water. You can watch the sunrise or sunset off of the balconies. Short drive down a gravel road 100 yards. Nearby ate at Patty's Restaurant - little ma and pa eatery. Excellent food! Went to see NUMEROUS waterfalls- Fall Creek Falls State Park, Burgess Falls, Rock Island State Park, Twin Falls, Window Cliff Falls - all within 20-60 min drive and WELL worth the scenery!!!!!!!!!! There were so many more we didn't get a chance to see. If you're wanting to chase waterfalls, watch sunrises or sunsets and stay in a secluded, private, quiet, rustic home- THIS is your gem !!!!!!!!!!! Hosts were phenomenal !!!!!!!

TN natives, my husband and I love the beauty of this state and especially the Center Hill Lake area for its unspoiled mountain views, clean waters, hiking trails galore, close proximity to so many waterfalls and its genuine people. And once we stepped foot in this hand-hewn cabin, we fell in love with its good bones and then the amazing view that makes you feel as if you are literally in the lakeside mountains. A designer and Realtor by trade, I embarked on a two-plus year renovation to turn the cabin into a specially curated and elevated lake experience for future guests...that is the Gray Pine way.
