Great place for my family of three, beautiful ranch, love the tree in the back, over 400 years, relaxing place, and did fish in the pond, very close to Round Top .
Absolutely loved this little country farm house setting. Very quiet and peaceful. Away from all the noise of the city. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet get away.
The little cabin was very cozy and clean. The views of the countryside were awesome, we saw a coyote, some deer and the two friendly cows. We enjoyed Sophie, the big, beautiful oak tree out back and the plentiful space to walk our dogs. Walter the Host was very nice and accommodating. We definitely plan to rent this cabin again.
Went with my new wife for our honey moon it was just amazing and perfect! Can’t wait to go back ! We’re definitely making this a spot we come to every year and make more memories and visit Sophie and can’t forget the 2 cutest baby cow that greeted me every morning
Walter is an awesome host! His Cottages was quiet, clean and just enough. We arrived to fresh fruit platter in the fridge, a cake stand of baked treats & a spotless environment:). Will definitely book again!
My wife and I had a great weekend staying in Sophie’s cabin at Still Waters Ranch. The views were amazing with the all the wildflowers in bloom and the 400 year old live oak tree behind the cabin. We really enjoyed fishing in the stocked pond and the location wasn’t too far from Round Top or Brenham. The cabin was very clean and there was even a tray of muffins and fruit for us when we arrived. Our host Mr. Sensat was very friendly and accommodating with anything we needed. We’re even looking forward to making a return trip in the future!
This was such a wonderful experience. The cabin was very nice. A great place to escape the hustle & bustle of our daily life and enjoy some unplugged peace and quiet. The pastries and fresh fruit were a welcome surprise. Not sure about the reviewer that had a scorpion apocalypse, we did encounter 1 on the back porch, but hey, you’re in their territory. None in the house and it was easily relocated with a handy fly-swat. The fishing was great and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and we plan to return soon. Highly recommended !!!
Quiet. No light pollution. Stars were breathtaking. Century 4X oak tree was magical. Super-nice owners on property. Easy drive into Round Top and Brenham with excellent antique shopping. Super-pet-friendly (our Yorkies love roaming the yard).
If you want to have a quiet place to stay in the country, this is the place to be. It was so peaceful! The owner had a tray of pastries and fresh fruit in the fridge waiting for us! The king bed is comfortable. The 400 year old tree in the backyard was breathtaking!!
We traveled for my daughters wedding an didnt have much time for all the amenities. It was peaceful and quite just like we like it. The old tree in the back was majestic and beautiful. A nice pond if you are into fishing. The owner was very friendly and helpful. If you like the outdoors and country living this is the place. It would be great if it had a stove top for cooking but we managed. He left us fresh fruits and muffins when we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay.
We use this cabin about twice a year. We love the property. Friendly cows, great fishing, quiet and peaceful. A great way to "unplug". Walter is an excellent host. Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice location
The location was very nice. I wrote Walt twice through the app and never got a response. Upon arriving we weren’t sure if we had the right place. Walt never text and said the cabin was ready. We just walked in, and assumed we were at the right place. No stove, no ice maker, no coffee creamer, no pots or pans. The “hot tub”is a bath tub with jets on a screened in porch. The fruit in the fridge was nice, the muffins were good. But could have been covered with plastic wrap. No glasses only for wine and plates were dessert plates. DVD for entertainment but there was WIFI. The best part was the 400 year old oak tree. It was breathtaking! We had a good stay but for our money we could have rented a nice hotel. So I give it a 3 out of 5 stars!
Our host, Walter was a great host! The cabin was perfect and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The huge oak in the back named Sophie is incredible to see with a porch swing under the canopy to relax and enjoy. We were there at the perfect time to see large patches of bluebonnets and Indian paint brushes!
Pictures does not do this place justice. Wonderful country cabin.
If you are looking for a wonderful little cabin in the country this is for you. Walter our host was such a pleasure to meet. The cabin was clean and being able to bring fur baby was a plus. Even though pet friendly, you could not tell. The muffins and fresh fruit was wonderful . We caught so many fish in the beautiful pond and saw deer in the morning . The 400 year old oak tree was majestic. So glad we chose this property. The outdoor tub on the porch was nice with the screened in porch and breeze. We will definitely return.
My husband and I came down from Missouri for a 3 day weekend and we were pleasantly surprised at this little peaceful oasis. It's truly a hidden treasure and you won't regret choosing it.
My wife and I stayed for a 4 day weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were greeted on the driveway by Walter who was extremely friendly. We got to the cabin and had a plate of muffins and a fruit tray in the fridge. The nature trail under Sophie (a large live oak) was great and had a wonderful swing underneath it. The stocked pond was low and it was fun to feed the fish. I do recommend you bring a black light flashlight to use at night if you aren’t staying inside. There are bark scorpions that mostly run and hide but you don’t want to accidentally step on. There is no stove but a charcoal grill and fire pit are there to cook your meals. The hot tub and screened in orchard lovely and the morning visits from the cows were nice as well. We will be looking forward to staying again for our next anniversary.
This was our 2nd trip to this property. We absolutely love the chance to get away from the "rat-race". A chance to unplug and enjoy a couples weekend. We had a great time fishing in the pond and just relaxing under the tree. We plan to return again.
The property was so comfortable and peaceful. Walter was a wonderful host, it was such a pleasure visiting with him. The bluebonnets were in bloom, and Sophie, the tree was magnificent. The fruit and pastry trays were delicious. We enjoyed our stay 100%.
We enjoyed our quiet weekend with beautiful wildflowers and scenery. My son enjoyed the stocked pond. The cabin was cute and clean. They provided the sweetest muffins and fresh fruit. What beat it all was the 400 year old live oak. She stole the show. We will return.
