Holiday

We were overall very pleased. There were a few problems when we first arrived but we got in touch with the property manager and they were right there immediately and had everything fixed. The fan was wobbly and looked like it would fall and they replaced it that day. Fridge was falling apart and they fixed that. I needed more outdoor furniture and she went out and bought three more chairs which was perfect. The location is fabulous. We were able to walk every day and we were very close to a lot of attractions. When you sit on the deck, you have a beautiful view of the little lake and you can see the pool. There were many birds which visited at regularly.

Horrible

The host contacted me 8 hours before we were supposed to check in and cancelled our reservation. They offered an “upgrade” unit in the same property. The “upgraded” unit we were moved to was filthy….Dried food on the dishes, ants, the not so hot tub overflowed, the dishwasher was falling out of the counter and ice maker was broken, just to mention a few of the issues. Owner wouldn’t call me to discuss issues because they were on a cruise.

Unresponsive Owner; property not as described; filth

This property was listed as accessible. It has since been updated to say it is not because of my complaints. I booked the property based on it being accessible and having enhanced cleaning. the first floor had no room to move around and had a tub in the bathroom, making it inaccessible for a wheelchair. the house was also filthy covered in dust with mildew and mold stains on the ceiling. you could feel the springs in the bed. i complained to the owner about the property not being accessible and filthy and asked for a refund because we literally could not stay there. he only offered to have the house cleaned and then stopped responding. i complained to VRBO but their support team was also not helpful. they told me it was up to the owner to refund my money which he refuses to do. it is just awful that someone would misrepresent a property and then not offer a full refund (or alternative place to stay that was accessible). we had to cancel our vacation and return home because we had no other place to stay. the owner still will not respond to me or VRBO. AVOID this owner's property, he has several in the area. His places are a scam. I submitted my complaints with VRBO support with supporting pictures as well as corporate.
