Ready to travel back in time to another era of Galveston? The Pink Door House is a historic 1912 remodeled corner home in the heart of the Strand. It is blocks away from the cruise terminal, Strand District, and the beach. If you love fun details and old historic charm, this house is for you! With original floors, pocket doors, shiplap, closets, entry door and more this house exudes old Galveston character. The Pink Door House is ideal for vacations close to the beach, restaurants, and shops.
Welcome to your historic old-charm Galveston home! The home is perfect for large families or group looking to get away and enjoy all of what Galveston has to offer. As you walk up to the Front Door you'll notice the now closed in orignial screen patio and entry door which has been converted to the Mud Room. Store your beach essentials in the lockers and leave the sand at the door. The house is also equipped with a full Washer and Dryer. On the Bottom Level of the home, there is comfortable L- Shaped Couch in the Living Room with a Roku-enabled TV and plenty of board games for those rainy days. There is also a very spacious King Size room off to the side. The fully renovated Kitchen has full-size appliances including a dishwasher. There is plenty of pantry space and coffee bar with a Keurig coffeemaker. Look at the side window and enjoy the street view from the bar area. The Dining Room can seat up to eight people. There is also one full bathroom with a tub downstairs.
As you walk upstairs, you will see all four bedrooms with original closets and shiplap. There are two King Bedrooms and one Queen Bedroom. The Bunk Room (a favorite) is the perfect for place for children or the young at heart. It boasts four full beds and can sleep up to eight people. There is also another full bathroom with a stand-up shower. Don't forget the shuffleboard table for after hours or rainy-day fun!
The backyard has several amenities you would enjoy as well. With an al fresco Dining Table and Sitting Areas, there is plenty of space for guests to lounge outside under the string lights.
There is parking available in the driveway in front of the house, and across the corner lot.
The Pink Door House is NOT suitable for Prom, large parties, weddings, events, OR large gatherings and will not be tolerated.
***The yard is cut once a week, don't be alarmed if you see crews outside. Trash days are Thursdays and we ask guests to roll the trash in and out.***
Guests can access the house through the front door with a lock box code.
We give our guests space, but we are only a message away if you need us for anything during your stay with us.
The house is located near the Strand District. It is a 2 minute drive to the cruise terminal and about 5 minute drive to the beach. It is also two blocks away from the historic homes along Broadway including Ashton Villa and Moody Mansion. It is a great place to stay in Galveston due to the proximity to both the Strand, an area that has popular restaurants, bars, and museums, and the Seawall, a popular area with beachfront restaurants, rental services, bars, and of course, the be
Uber is a great way to get around town if you need a car. The local trolley also has stops throughout the Strand area and is a great way to explore the Historic District.
We only offer refunds if there is a known Hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico coming to Galveston and there is a mandatory evacuation assigned by our local County Judge. We do not give refunds for normal rainy weather and up to Tropical Storms nor cold weather.
The yard is cut weekly. Please do not be alarmed if you see the crews outside.
House Rules
***No parties, large gatherings, or events are allowed in or around our home.***
1. Check in for the home is 4pm unless otherwise cleared with the owners.
2. No more than 16 individuals may occupy or use the home while being rented.
3. Watch the size of your loads in the downstairs washer, as large loads keep the washer from fully agitating.
4. Guests to turn off A/C when they leave.
5. Do not put any paper products or feminine products down the toilet.
6. Do not take bath towels to the beach.
7. Do not turn the thermostat down below 68 degrees or the unit may freeze.
8. Do not mess with the WIFI equipment in the second Living Room area.
9. Do not eat or drink on the couches.
10. Advise that the key is placed back into the lock box after use or there is a replacement fee.
11. Be respectful to the neighbors. If they are not respectful to you, please let us know.
12. Smoking is never allowed in the house.
13. Pets are not allowed.
14. Please lock the front and back doors when not in use.
15. Lock the gate when leaving.
Things to Bring With You
1. Bath towels for large groups and beach towels for everyone.
2. Bluetooth speaker to take out to the beach with you.
3. Pop up tent if you are sensitive to the sun and plan out to spend a significant amount of time outdoors.
4. Plenty of sunscreen!
5. Log In information for your cable- you can log in as a guest and sign into any cable station, Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, or Hulu.
6. A noisy box fan if you prefer white noise.
7. Some guests prefer to bring paper goods to avoid doing dishes on vacation.
8. Sandwich bags to take snacks and sandwiches to the beach with you.
9. Water bottles and koozies.
We are unable to price match any rates found on other booking platforms.
- Guests must be 24+ to book the property.
- One-night stays must be approved.
- Groups larger than 12 need to be approved. We do not allow parties.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Any damages to the house or property during your stay will result in a deduction or additional charge for the resulting repair/replacement cost.
- Pets are not allowed.
- No parking allowed on lawns, yards, empty grass lots or other neighbors’ driveways, even if their home appears unoccupied.
- Oversized vehicles/trailers are not permitted unless explicit approval has been received from our team.
- Do not turn the AC below 70 degrees. If you do, you will risk the AC unit freezing up, requiring it to thaw out which will result in the home getting extremely warm.
