About this property

Renovated historic stone house very close to the Potomac River

Enjoy a memorable visit when you stay in this unique cozy home. Both rustic and refined with exposed stone walls and modern amenities.

We are located directly across from the train tracks and the Potomac River. Great for train enthusiasts and kids. Be prepared to see and hear the excitement when trains go by. Very sensitive sleepers may want to take this into consideration! The house sits on a scenic byway that has, just a short distance up the road, beautiful river views and a breathtaking top of mountain vista (Maryland Heights) if you’re a pretty serious hiker. The road trails along the river with the lesser seen opening of The Harpers Ferry train tunnel. This is also the very course John Brown traveled on his way to the armory raid. Knoxville was once a bustling town but suffered hardship when the train station moved to close by Brunswick. Some of the hardship is still evident in the area. The whole Harpers Ferry area is one of the fastest growing areas with Knoxville in particular burgeoning. The area has loads to offer with hiking, biking, tubing, rafting and kayaking or just taking a scenic walk on the tow path. There are vineyards and breweries close by and a few different venues with live music with great views of the river.

The upper level of the property features a large open concept primary bedroom with a Queen size bed ,walk in closet and access to the upper balcony. Please see pictures of layout.
A second bedroom with two twin beds and a full bathroom with tub.

The lower level has a large dining room, Den, kitchen, half bath and laundry room.

Two parking spaces are available in front of the garage and an extra spot in front of the house.

Lovely
The home was stunning. A real gem. Easily the nicest house on the street. Very clean. Well stocked. Furnishing and finishes are beautiful. Close access to the Tow Path. Loved exploring and taking in the history and local outdoor activities.

Stone house
We love old houses and this place was no exception! Updated to have all the modern amenities while tastefully retaining it's yesteryear charm-exposed stone walls, clawfoot tub, thoughtfully decorated with a nod to the past and antiques (did not feel like we were in a Target ad). Very well-stocked kitchen as far as dishes and cookware. We truly felt at home and not like we were staying in a rental. Our kids did not want to leave! Attended the Waterford Faire and my son and I hiked into Harpers Ferry (right across the river). Would def. stay here again and would love to do so in the summer when we can enjoy the yard and outdoor areas (porches, patio, outdoor cooking area. My only two suggestions would be for the owners to put some seating around the firepit area and to have a notebook on hand where guests can share what they did while in the area.

Beautiful restored historical home
The house was very pretty. It was bigger then a thought the outdoor patio was very nice and we used the grill and fire pit on the back of the property it is very close to harpers ferry and the brewery. Host was very sweet and responsive to any questions I had the beds were very comfy and we enjoyed hanging out in the back game/den area the neighbor came over and introduced himself he was very pleasant and recommended things to do in the area we will be back thank you
