Tranquil & Private with Sweeping Views, River---all within 5 min of Santa Ynez

The Lodge and the Cabin are the guest quarters for the historic Rio Ynez Ranch, an 85-acre horse ranch in Santa Ynez. Previously, these two houses were only available to guests of the owner, including many storied personalities. Now you can share in the total privacy--- while only 5 minutes from downtown Santa Ynez, 10 to Los Olivos. Stroll 100 paces and sit at the edge of the Santa Ynez River and listen to the landscape of birdsong. Sit on the sprawling deck with a glass of local wine and ponder the uninterrupted panorama of mountains. You won’t see a sign of civilization during your stay. Furnished with a mixture of antiques and rare rustic furniture. The Lodge was redone recently: new paint, floors, marble kitchen counters, new French doors; the deck has been extended and a beautiful new outdoor fireplace and seating area have been built. The kitchen in the Lodge is fully equipped for you to cook a fine meal, and there is a fine outdoor gas grill, but the restaurants of Santa Ynez are only moments away, wineries too numerous to mention. The Lodge has one King Bedroom, Two Queen Bedrooms and Two Full Baths. The Cabin has One King Bed and one Full Bathroom.

NOTES:

The maximum number of guests allowed is 8. We do not hold events on the ranch. PLEASE SEND NO INQUIRIES ABOUT WEDDINGS.

Please do not request to book dates where your arrival or departure are the same day as an existing reservation. We like to leave at least 24 hours between stays for thorough cleaning and disinfecting.

The Cabin is approximately 80 feet from the Lodge. They only rent together.

A new high speed Wifi system has been installed (replacing the sluggish satellite Wifi). Streaming and Zoom from multiple devices are no problem.

There is only one TV and it is in the Master Bedroom

Preference will be given to longer stays.

There is an outdoor fireplace that is GAS ONLY.

There is an outdoor gas grill.

There is an indoor fireplace and firewood is provided.

There is a Keurig coffee maker as well as a filter coffee machine.

Horseback riding is not offered on property. Recommendations can be given for arranging rides in the valley.

Please make sure you take all items with you upon your departure. Items left by guests will not be returned to their owners.

Unique, beautiful property.

Family and doggy children getaway

We had a wonderful time - our 2nd stay! We just love the relaxation , nature and tranquility of this ranch house. Our family of 8 plus dogs love this place. Everything we need is provided plus being so close to all the charm of Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, Los Olivos and Solvang can’t be beat.We thought of booking for. Thanksgiving but unfortunately the ranch house is already booked!

Peace & Serenity

The Lodge is just a wonderful peaceful haven to escape from the chaotic world we usually live in! The property is very secluded and the amenities the owner has provided are top notch. You couldn't ask for a better stocked kitchen and the beds were quite comfy! Having our morning coffee or evening glass of wine sitting around the fireplace on the expansive outdoor deck was heaven!

We had a fantastic time! The place was amazing and looked just like the pictures and the property was unbeatable. It felt like we were alone on a ranch, and felt very private! We loved the decorations, and the cowboy, ranch theme! The extra space, was a bit further away so we didnt fully utilize but had plenty of space. The owner was away on business so was harder to reach, but provided a lot of information through text and email! Very close to Solvang, Santa Ynez, and less than 10 minutes from a few wineries and grocerie stores! Would highly recommend with a big family, or with friends!

Privacy and Relaxation

This is the second time we have stayed at Andrews place. Even with wineries calling, it’s hard to leave. We sleep great, the silence is incredible and the beds are comfortable. Coffee on the deck while listening to the birds is how every day should start. We end up getting our wine and to go food, then coming back to the house to enjoy it. Thank you Andrew!

Central Location!

We had a great stay at the property. Very quiet and serene and yet extremely central to everything since it is right by the traffic circle. Kitchen was well stocked, the home was clean, and the scenery was beautiful. This is a rustic stay on a horse ranch, so there were some insects out an about when outside, which is to be expected. I think the only minor inconvenience was a bit of an ant problem inside the home which took some extra diligence prevent in the kitchen.

Difficult to find because address numbers are transposed on the street. Also, arrival at night is problematic because of few lights or signage. The property manager is perfunctory. The location is beautiful. I do recommend it.

Stunning property with amazing style

Everything about this home was exceptional! The property is gorgeous and private, and the home itself is so thoughtfully decorated. You can tell they put so much care and attention into this home. The kitchen had everything you could hope for and more. The smallest details from the plates to the cups to the pictures on the wall all add the experience. We were planning on going wine tasting but decided we'd rather just drink wine on the deck because it had a better view than most wineries. We stayed here with 4 couples and were all happy with our rooms! It was such a magical weekend. Thank you, we hope to come visit again!

A Hidden Gem with Stunning Views

I cannot express enough how much my stay exceeded every one of my expectations. The moment I arrived, it was immediately clear that this place was something truly special—a hidden country secret. The property is stunning. The sweeping views from the house are like something out of a postcard, and the river that runs through the property adds an almost magical touch to the whole experience. Privacy is often hard to come by, but not here. It's the perfect setting for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The house itself is both stylish and comfortable, combining modern amenities with rustic charm in the most delightful way. And then there's the owner—responsive, friendly, and clearly committed to ensuring a wonderful guest experience. I almost hesitate to share just how incredible this spot is because I want to keep it all to myself! If you're looking for an idyllic getaway, do yourself a favor and book this place. Just don't tell too many people; I want to make sure it's available for my next escape!

Family get together

We booked this house to allow us to meet in a central location with relatively few distractions. We found plenty to do in the nearby villages and enjoyed cooking and hanging out in the house. We brought bocce and had a great time playing in the gravel at one end of the house. We would be happy to stay here again.

70th Birthday celebration for Patriarch of the family

We had a wonderful stay. It was beautiful - a true retreat from city life. The ranch was gorgeous. It was awesome to walk and see the friendly horses and the tranquil river. The lodge provided us everything we needed. It was immaculate and thoughtfully decorated. Our family of 8 plus 2 dogs would love to come back!

Beautiful ranch escape close to everything

3 generations had a great weekend at the Rio Ynez- the kids loved exploring the property- horses, river, cute little cabin. It was close to all the wine tasting, restaurants and valley activity as well. The only negative was a very bad ant problem- on arrival and with any food, no matter how diligent. But it’s the country… so the rest of our experience outweighed the inconvenience. A great spot for a group or family!

Secluded, Private, and Quiet

The website description is very accurate but we were all pleasantly surprised by how secluded main house is and that the cabin is hidden from view. We had a perfect weekend in Santa Ynez and looked forward to coming back to Rancho Ynez at the end of each day’s activities.

Lovely Ranch House and Cottage

This rustic ranch house is located in a beautiful, serene site. It is a working horse farm and it was delightful to visit the horses there. The house and lodge are nicely furnished. Linens were plentiful. The A/C and heating system (you need both) work very well. The kitchen has older appliances but they work. It was a very peaceful place for our 3 day stay.

Super cool Ranchland

This property sure had character. It was in a class of its own. Great bed linens, well outfitted kitchen, rustic decor and furniture. Beautiful and so special in many ways. We loved the fireplace!
