This listing features two cute, cozy 3 BR/1 BA houses next door to each other, offering a combined six bedrooms. Located in a quiet neighborhood southeast of downtown Royal Oak, we're a 5-minute drive from downtown and a 15-minute drive from Detroit. With two homes, each of which include spacious entertaining living rooms & kitchens as well as tons of parking, it’s the perfect spot for any group gathering or getaway!

Enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, an Amazon Fire smart TV, French Roast coffee pods + Keurig, Memory Foam beds, fresh linens, in-suite washer/dryer, Solimo bath products, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Message us for anything we can help with!

The front doors to each of our homes is located up a few steps. The ground floor of each home has three bedrooms and a bathroom along with the kitchen and living room. Both of the homes have laundry facilities, though in one of them it's in a basement down a full flight of stairs. In the other, the laundry is located on the main level along with everything else.

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have a fine and possible removal for violations.

There is a $750 security deposit authorization hold when your reservation begins. We will charge $300 for the first smoking violation (with possible removal from the unit), and the remaining $450 for the second smoking violation (with guaranteed removal from the unit).

Located on a quiet side street off of E 10 Mile Road, our driveways each fit up to three cars. There is also plenty of free street parking on our street!

Entry

The unit is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the front door. To enter, press the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, type the same code you used at entry, followed by the CHECK, and the door will lock! In addition, the locks will auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e., hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste!

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Pullout Couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!

Air Mattress: Designed for camping, our air mattress is extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate. You’ll find extra linens and towels in the pullout couch storage compartment as well.

Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress.

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

This house is perfectly located for access to both Royal Oak and Ferndale. Situated on a family-friendly quiet street but within a 5-minute drive to all that Royal Oak has to offer as well as only a fifteen-minute drive to Michigan Avenue and all of Detroit’s best amenities.

For public transportation, there are bus routes that run east/west along Lincoln Avenue as well as north/south along 10 Mile Road and 11 Mile Road/Woodward! Each of those is about a mile from the house, or approximately a 10-minute walk. UBER and LYFT run consistently in the area and are quick, cheap, and accessible options to get anywhere in the Royal Oak/Ferndale/Detroit metro area as well!
